1IN RODUC ION
1.1 Introduction
Vcolor 618 is a stylish controller for managing retar ing-proofing cabinets an rooms.
Available in split version, the controller consists of a 5-inch (M) or 7-inch (L) capacitive TFT touch-screen graphic isplay in glass, 65K
colours, 800 x 480 pixel resolution an IP65 protection for easy cleaning.
It is capable of managing automatic retar ing-proofing cycles (consisting of blocking, conservation, re-awakening, proofing an
retar ing phases), manual conservation an proofing cycles (with temperature, humi ity an fan intensity manage in epen ently for
each phase).
It also has a programming function that stores the settings for automatic retar ing-proofing cycles in a program which can
subsequently be selecte an run, an a USB communications port enabling the settings an ata recor e by the controller to be
uploa e an ownloa e using an or inary USB flash rive.
The controller installe from behin using threa e stu s enables it to be place flush with the panel thus making it fit perfectly with
the esign of the unit.

2.5 Control module installation
Installation of the control mo ule is on a flat surface with spacers.
2.6 Installation precautions
- Ensure that the working con itions for the evice (operating temperatures, humi ity, etc.) are within the set limits. See
section 16 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS.
- Do not install the evice close to heat sources (heaters, hot air ucts, etc.), equipment with a strong magnetic fiel (large
iffusers, etc.), in places subject to irect sunlight, rain, amp, excessive ust, mechanical vibrations or shocks.
- Any metal parts close to the control mo ule must be far enough away so as not to compromise the safety istance.
- In compliance with safety regulations, the evice must be installe properly to ensure a equate protection from contact
with electrical parts. All protective parts must be fixe in such a way as to nee the ai of a tool to remove them.

3.3 Precautions for electrical connection
- Do not use electric or pneumatic screw rivers on the terminal blocks of the evice.
- If the evice has been move from a col to a warm place, the humi ity may cause con ensation to form insi e. Wait about
an hour before switching on the power.
- Make sure that the supply voltage, electrical frequency an power of the evice correspon to the local power supply. See
section 16 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS.
- Disconnect the evice from the power supply before oing any type of maintenance.
- Connect the power cables as far away as possible from those for the signal.
- To re uce reflections on the signal transmitte along the cables connecting the user interface to the control mo ule it is
necessary to fit a termination resistor.

5FIRS - IME USE
5.1 Operating modes
The controller has the following operating mo es:
- “off” (no power to the evice);
- “stan -by” (the evice is powere but switche off);
- “on” (the evice is powere , switche on an awaiting start-up of an operating cycle);
- “run” (the evice is powere , switche on an running an operating cycle).
Terminology: “switch on the evice” means moving from “stan -by” to “on” mo e an “switch off the evice” means moving from “on”
to “stan -by” mo e.
If there is a power failure, when power is restore the evice will return to the mo e set before the failure.
5.2 Operating the device
Follow these instructions to operate the evice.
1. Install the evice as shown in section 2 MEASUREMENTS AND INSTALLATION taking all the precautions mentione in
paragraph 2.6 Installation precautions.
2. Make the electrical connection as shown in section 3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION.
3. Connect the power supply to the evice: if parameter E9 is set at 1 ( efault), the evice will show the EVCO splash screen
for 10 secon s; if the parameter is set at 0, a system loa ing screen will be shown:

Once loa ing is complete, the evice will isplay the mo e it was in before being powere own:
- On/Stan -by screen, press the central area to move to the Home screen;
- irectly the Home screen.

To switch the evice on, on the On/stan -by screen press the central key ; to switch the evice off, on the Home screen
press the key on the lower part of the screen.
N.B. If the power supply has been cut off long enough to cause a clock error (RTC alarm), it will be necessary to reset the
ate an time.
4. When switching on from the settings key on the On/stan -by screen, enter the SET DATE/TIME menu an touch the

5. By touching the settings key on the On/stan -by screen, enter the SERVICE menu an from here the PARAMETERS
menu. Enter the passwor -19 an configure the evice as you wish in the or er in which the parameters are liste in the
table below. Then check that the remaining parameters have been set in a consistent way. See later sections an in
particular section 14 PARAMETERS.

6 NAVIGA ION
6.1 Initial information
Navigating the menus is intuitive, base on touch technology.
-To enter into a proce ure touch the menu or the correspon ing icon
-To exit the proce ure an , in general, to return to the previous level, press the Back key

-To regulate a setting, use the – an + keys or press an rag the relevant bar
-To silence the buzzer touch any key while it is soun ing. If the buzzer is soun ing for the en of an automatic cycle or
because the pre-cooling temperature has been reache , the buzzer will be eactivate automatically after the number of
secon s set by parameter E12 (unless it is silence manually).
6.2 Home screen
The Home screen is the eparture point for navigating the user interface.
The Home screen isplays the functions enable , the ate an the time.
All the en -user’s selections start form the Home screen.

Once a manual or automatic cycle has been starte up, the Run screen will appear for the type of cycle selecte .

6.3.2 Function keys
While a manual or automatic cycle is being run, the lower part of the screen isplays the function keys, which are as follows.

6.4 Screen Saver
After a perio of inactivity set by parameter E8 (from 1 to 240 minutes), the Run screen will switch to Screen Saver showing the values
etecte by the probes in use This function can be isable by setting parameter E8 to 0.
Just touch the screen to exit the Screen Saver. When an alarm is in progress the Run screen will be restore .
6.5 Settings screen
The settings key on the On/stan -by screen grants access to the Set-up screen with the relevant function menus (for the
INPUTS/OUTPUTS STATUS function, ata are only isplaye ). To access the various proce ures, touch the screen near the
information/function require . The following screen is isplaye :
If parameter E12 is set at 1, the screen will also isplay the configuration etails for the serial control humi ifier.

Touching this option enables configuration of the passwor -protecte parameters (-19). To set parameters follow the navigation

7.1 Automatic and manual cycles
The controller provi es complete control for retar ing-proofing cabinets or rooms for brea or pastry-making by managing the complete
ough retar ing-proofing cycle automatically.
An automatic retar ing-proofing cycle consists of 5 ifferent phases with ifferent temperatures, relative humi ity, fan spee s an
urations, one run after the other in the following or er.
1. BLOCKING phase
Temperature regulation is active an has a neutral zone a justment, the temperature setpoint, the humi ity setpoint (if control of this
is require ), the fan spee an uration in hours an minutes for the phase are set by the en -user.
Relative humi ity regulation epen s on parameter rU4. If this is set to zero humi ity control is not carrie out in this phase.
2. CONSERVATION phase
Temperature regulation is active an has a neutral zone a justment, the temperature setpoint, the humi ity setpoint (if control of this
is require ) an the fan spee are set by the en -user.
Moving from the blocking setpoint (previous phase) to the conservation setpoint can be gra ual, with the incremental percentages set
while the parameters are being set.
Relative humi ity regulation epen s on parameter rU4. If this is set to zero humi ity control is not carrie out in this phase.

3. RE-AWAKENING phase

parameters are being set.
Relative humi ity regulation is active an has a NEUTRAL ZONE a justment, the working setpoint is set by the en -user.
