GE Concord 4 Security Alarm - QUICK USER GUIDE
To turn off alarm/disarm: Press DISARM button. Screen displays “Enter Code”. Enter your code
(master code or any user code). Entrant usually has approx. 45 seconds to enter code before
alarm is initiated and rings to the gatehouse. If disarmed properly, beeping should stop and
display the main screen (current date & time).
To turn on alarm/arm when you’re leaving home (all devices on): Press AWAY button. Screen
displays “Armed to AWAY”. You usually have 45 seconds to open door, exit and close door
before alarm is armed. Keypad should beep intermittently until armed, with rapid beeps in the
last 10 seconds.
To turn on alarm/arm when you’re remaining in home (perimeter devices on, no motions): Press
STAY button. Screen displays “Armed to STAY”. You usually have 45 seconds before alarm is
armed. Keypad should beep intermittently until armed –if you wish to silence the beep, press “5”
within a few seconds of pressing STAY button.
If you notice a flashing * on the main screen (current date & time) when trying to arm the
system, it means a window or door is ajar. To find out which zone/door/window is open, simply
press the * button and the screen will display which device is not ready.
If you try to arm the system with a door or window open (ie. you pressed STAY or AWAY
button), the screen displays “Protest”. If you want to cancel the alarm to determine which
door/window is open, press * to cancel. If you want to bypass the zone (ie. leave the window or
door open with alarm armed), press # to bypass.
To toggle door/window chime on/off: Press 7 + 1 (when system is unarmed)
Note: panic buttons and smoke/heat detectors are always active, regardless of armed or
disarmed status.
System Programming (Edits) - General Actions:
-If you need to change or add alarm master or user codes, from the main screen (display shows
date & time) press 9 + Master Code on the keypad to enter the system programming menu.
-Once in the system programming menu, use the arrow keys on the keypad to go up and down the
following lists.
-Use the # key to ENTER or accept selection.
-Use the * key to go back to previous screen.

To change your master code:
From the main screen (current date & time), press 9 + Master Code to enter the system programming
menu. The screen should display “Time and Date”.
Press down arrow 1 time to the display “User Codes”, then press # . Screen should display “Regular
User Codes”.
Press down arrow 2 times to the display “System Master Code”, then press # . Screen display should
be your 4-digit master code.
Enter the 4-digit Master Code, then press # (this writes over the old master code and shows the new
code)
Press * to get back to “System Master Code” screen. Press * again to get back to the “User Codes”
screen. Press the up arrow 3 times to the display “Exit Programming, Ready”, press # to get back to
the main screen (current date & time).
To add a new user code:
From the main screen (current date & time), press 9 + Master Code to enter the system programming
menu. The screen should display “Time and Date”.
Press down arrow 1 time to the display “User Codes”, then press # . Screen should display “Regular
User Codes”. Press # , screen should display slot “User 000”.
Arrow down to an empty slot (3-digit number) you want to add new user code (ie. slot 005), press # .
Display should say “User 005 - ____” . If the slot is vacant, display should be “ **** ”. If already
occupied, display should show 4-digit number.
Enter the 4-digit user code you’d like (ie. 5957), then press # . Screen should display “User 005 –
5957”.
Press * to get back to the “User 005” screen. Press * to get back to the “Regular User Codes”
screen. Press * again to get back to the “User Codes” screen. Press the up arrow 3 times to the
display “Exit Programming, Ready”, press # to get back to the main screen (current date & time).
To delete a user code:
From the main screen (current date & time), press 9 + Master Code to enter the system programming
menu. The screen should display “Time and Date”.
Press down arrow 1 time to the display “User Codes”, then press # . Screen should display “Regular
User Codes”. Press # , screen should display slot “User 000”.
Arrow down to the slot (3-digit number) whose user code you want to delete (ie. slot 005), press # .
Display should say “User 005 - ____” . The display should show the current 4-digit number.
Enter your 4-digit Master Code, then press # (this removes the user code and sets it back to empty).
Screen should display “User 005 – ****”.
Press * to get back to the “User 005” screen. Press * to get back to the “Regular User Codes”
screen. Press * again to get back to the “User Codes” screen. Press the up arrow 3 times to the
display “Exit Programming, Ready”, press # to get back to the main screen (current date & time).
