1 General Information
The aim of this Service Manual is to describe the CARDIOHELP system and provide the information
required for maintenance.
Before carrying out any maintenance, carefully read the Instructions for Use and the Service Manual.

Recycling. Used batteries must be recycled or disposed of in accordance with the relevant national and environmen-
tal regulations.
Separate collection of electric and electronic devices in accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC: Do not dispose of the

way in compliance with local regulations.

1.5 Software Symbols

[Confirm] To confirm, touch the button.
The CARDIOHELP uses the new, changed settings.
[Reject] To reject, touch the button.
This enables you to reject inputs or changes. The CARDIOHELP uses the previous, unal-
tered settings.
[Deactivated] The adjustment is not selected.
[Activated] The adjustment is selected.
[Locked] The controls on the display cannot be used. To be able to use the CARDIOHELP, the lock
must be removed.
[Not locked] The controls on the display can be used.
[Startup screen] The controls on the display can be used.
[Menu] The controls on the display can be used.

1.7 Precautionary Measures
WARNING!
Eliminate safety risks!
Disconnect the CARDIOHELP from the external power supply and remove the batteries before carrying
out maintenance.
WARNING!
Electrical components are live!
While the CARDIOHELP is connected to the internal or external power supply, the electrical components
are live.
During troubleshooting or when making settings on the open device, the service technician must take
particular care.
WARNING!
Maintenance work should not be carried out during an intended use.
Maintenance work should only be carried out if there is no patient on the CARDIOHELP.
WARNING!
Eliminate safety risks!
Carry out an inspection after every service or repair measure and after opening the device. This will
eliminate possible injury risks.
CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharge can cause damage to electronic components.
To prevent damage to ESD-sensitive components, an ESD-protected environment must be set up.
To prevent damage and malfunctions, defined handling instructions must be observed when handling
ESD-sensitive components.
The ESD-protection equipment must always be used appropriately.
In addition to the important information provided here and in the relevant accompanying documents (e.g.,
Instructions for Use) the important local and national regulations must always be taken into consideration.

1.8 Service Requirements
Personnel Requirements
WARNING!
Maintenance work may only be carried out by authorized service technicians!
Maintenance work may only be carried out by service technicians who have been trained, instructed and
authorized by MAQUET.
Maintenance work carried out by unqualified service technicians may lead to injury of the service
technician, patient or other persons or may lead to damage to the device.
Unauthorized opening of the device will void the warranty.
To the Service Technician
If you detect considerable discrepancies between the device and these documents, contact MAQUET for
further information.
We reserve the right to modify the device without changing this document or informing the user.
Only original MAQUET spare parts must be used. PCBs must always be stored in the original packaging for
sensitive electronic components.
Components on PCBs may not be replaced. The PCBs may only be used as equipped and tested units.
Additional information on the PCBs in this manual is intended purely for error diagnosis.
1.9 Service Equipment
NOTE
Only use calibrated measuring devices for service work.
The following tools are required for carrying out maintenance work.

C. ESD protective equipment (protective mat, earthing wrist band and adapter)
D. Universal testing device for testing electrical safety
E. Multimeter (for troubleshooting)

The CARDIOHELP service tool box can be ordered at MCP-HTSC. You will find ad-
ditional information in the CARDIOHELP spare parts list.
