Propane Tank Kit for Plaza Fire Table

Installation Instructions
CAUTION! Risk of Injury. Wear protective gloves and
safety glasses during installation. Sheet metal edges are
sharp.
Leave this manual with party responsible for use and
operation.
NOTE: This propane tank kit can be mounted to the
Framing Kit (FK-ODPLAZA-L24S). All propane tank kit
mounting system components must be used.
Preparation
1. Inspect all contents of the propane tank kit to ensure
each item is free of damage.
WARNING! Risk of Injury! This kit must be installed by
a qualied service technician.
CAUTION! Do not install damaged components.

Introduction/Before You Start
This kit is to be used with one Plaza table. (ODPLA-
ZA-L24S). It is for the purpose of mounting a propane
tank to the table. The kit comes with a frame and door.
Installation Instructions
1. Check to make sure all of the parts are in the kit.
2. Start by installing the tank bottom and screwing it to
the framing kit. Use four (4) screws, two on each side.
See Figure 2.

If installing 1/4-20 nuts and bolts for foot pads, refer to
page 3 (Foot Pads).
• Be sure to remove protective coating on stainless
steel surfaces.

3. Attach tank support with two (2) screws. See Figure 3.
5. Now assemble the door frame to the framing kit. Attach
on the valve end of the enclosure with the wider bracket
on top. Four (4) screws on framing kit must be removed
to install door frame. Connect the sides rst then place
the top and bottom frames on top of the sides. Screw
down at the same time. See Figure 5.
6. Once the frame is installed, there will be a 1/2” lip around
the frame for installation of nishing material. See Figure
6.
7. Install propane tank into the tank bottom and connect
the regulator quick connect. Attach tank strap into
slot.
Note: You must use strap. See Figure 7 & 8.

4. Connect the 3/8” are side of the regulator hose to the
main decorative gas shut off. Valve should already have
the 3/8” are to 1/2” NPT adapter installed. One side
goes to the tank and the other goes to the burner pan ex
line. See Figure 4.

8. Insert top of door into frame, then rotate bottom door back
and drop in place. See Figure 9 & 10.

Propane / LP Gas Enclosures Guidelines
1. Constructed and marked in accordance with
the U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.)
specications for propane gas cylinders, spheres
and tubes for transportation of dangerous goods
and commission, CAN/CSA-B339, as applicable.
2. Provided with listed overlling device.
3. Provided with connection device compatible with
appliance.
• When constructing an enclosure to conceal a propane
cylinder, the enclosure must adhere to the following
construction requirements:
• Enclosure may be constructed with one side completely
open or if the enclosure is built with four sides, a top
and a bottom, then as follows:
- A propane gas cylinder enclosure requires four
ventilation openings at the top and bottom of the
enclosure (Figure 11). The openings must adhere to
the minimum requirements according to the capacity
of the cylinder. (Listed below)
- Each opening of the enclosure must be equally sized
and spaced a minimum of 90° apart (see Figure 9).
Openings must remain unobstructed.
- Top ventilation openings are required on the side
walls of the tank enclosure within five inches
(127 mm) of the top of the enclosure. They need
to be of equal size, unobstructed and spaced a
minimum of 90° apart. The openings need to be a
total area of 1 in2/lb (14.2 cm2/kg) of fuel storage
capacity. (Example: 1.0 in2 x 20 lb tank=20 in2)
- Bottom opening must provide a minimum of 1/2
square inch (7.1 cm2/kg ) for each pound of propane
contained in the tank. (Example: .05 in2 x 20 lb
tank=10 in2)
- Every opening must have minimum dimensions to
allow entrance of a 1/8 in. (3.18 mm) diameter rod..
- Ventilation openings in side walls must not
communicate directly with other enclosures of the
linear appliance.
- The cylinder valve must be easily accessible by
hand. Connections should be easy to leak test inside
the enclosure. A door on the enclosure is acceptable
only if easily opened without the use of tools and is
non-locking.
- The enclosure needs to isolate the cylinder from the
burner compartment and provide protection from
radiation, act as a ame barrier, and protect the
cylinder from foreign material.
- The enclosure needs to allow connection,
disconnection, and inspection of the connection of
the propane gas cylinder.
- The enclosure should allow testing of any connection
on the propane cylinder that might be disturbed
during installation.
NOTE: The propane cylinder and regulator hose as-
sembly (not provided) must meet the following require-
ments stated in points 1, 2 & 3.

Foot Pads
• Bottom air openings can be replaced by installing
the (8) eight 1/4-20 bolts and nuts as foot pads on
the bottom of the table. See Figure 12 & 13.
• If foot pads are installed, there is no need for the
bottom opening. The top air requirements will still
need to be installed.
• Half of the required opening is supplied with the
door (10 square inches). A 20 lb. propane tank
requires at least 20 square inches of opening on top
vents and at least 10 square inches on the bottom.
• All of the foot pads must be installed where
indicated to support load. After installed, there
should be a 3/8 inch space around the entire table.
• Do not nish to the ground if installing foot pads.
Attach one of the (8) eight bolts and a nut to the
bottom of table. Secure with nut on the inside of
the table. See Figure 12.
NOTE: If using foot pads, framing kit must be placed
on a hard stable surface.

Propane Gas Cylinder Label
DANGER • FLAMMABLE GAS UNDER PRESSURE.
LEAKING LP-GAS MAY CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF IGNITED
CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH.
CONTACT LP GAS SUPPLIER FOR REPAIRS, OR DISPOSAL OF THIS
CYLINDER OR UNUSED LP-GAS.
WARNING • FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY.*
DO NOT USE OR STORE CYLINDER IN A BUILDING,
GARAGE OR ENCLOSED AREA.
• Know the odor of LP-gas. If you hear, see or
smell leaking LP-gas, immediately get everyone
away from the cylinder and call the Fire Depart-
ment. Do not attempt repairs.
• Caution your LP-gas supplier to:
Be certain cylinder is purged of trapped air
prior to rst lling.
Be certain not to over ll the cylinder.
Be certain cylinder re-qualication date is
checked.
• LP-gas is heavier than air and may settle in low
places while dissipating.
• Contact with the liquid contents of cylinder will
cause freeze burns to the skin.
• Do not allow children to tamper or play with cyl-
inder.
• When not connected for use, keep cylinder valve
turned off. Self contained appliances shall be
limited to a cylinder of 30 lb. capacity or less.
• Do not use, store or transport cylinder where it
would be exposed to high temperatures. Relief
valve may open allowing a large amount of am-
mable gas to escape.
• When transporting, keep cylinder secured in an
upright position with cylinder valve turned off,
WARNING:
• Use only in compliance with applicable codes.
• Read and follow manufacturer’s instructions.
• Consult manufacturer’s instructions concerning
the cylinder connection provided with your appli-
ance.
• Be sure regulator vent is not pointing up.
• Turn off all valves on the appliance.
• Do not check for gas leaks with a match or open
ame. Apply soapy water at areas marked “x”.
Open cylinder valve. If bubble appears, close
valve and have LP-gas service person make
needed repairs. Also, check appliance valves and
connections to make sure they do not leak before
lighting appliance.
• Light appliance(s) following manufacturer’s in-
structions.
• When appliance is not in use, keep the cylinder
valve closed.
