McDonald’s Alert Guide
FILTER ERROR “IS POT FILLED” = During the AIF procedure, the display may show
“IS POT FILLED? If the vat is full, press the √button to resume normal operation.
If the vat is not full, press the X button for “NO” and the display then shows
“FILL POT FROM DRN PAN”. Follow the prompts.
Note: To avoid getting this message make sure filter pan is cleaned at least daily,
filter pad is changed, make sure JIB is full and that “O” rings are in good condition.
“CHECK PAN” = Filter pan is not locked in place.
“CHANGE FILTER PAD” = Filter pad has not been changed within 25 hour time
period.
ELECTRIC FRYERS ONLY! “E-31” HEATING ELEMENTS ARE UP = Heating elements
have been left up during maintenance filter. Lower heating elements.
ELECTRIC FRYERS. “E-10” HI LIMIT TRIPPED = Allow heating elements to cool and
reset the high limit by using a small screwdriver or Allen wrench and gently push it
into the hole in the heating element hinge; if high limit does not reset call for
service. See ELECTRIC FRYERS photo below.
GAS FRYERS. “E-10” HI LIMIT TRIPPED = Allow fryer to cool and reset the high by
pressing the red reset button under the right side of the controls; if high limit does
not reset call for service. See GAS FRYERS photo below.

GAS FRYERS ONLY! E-20” “NO DRAFT” “CHECK HOOD”= Check the fryer flue and
hood system for obstructions; have the vacuum switch checked

ERROR DE FILTRADO “IS POT FILLED” = Durante el proceso AIF, la pantalla puede
mostrar “IS POT FILLED?” Si la tina esta llena, presione el botón √para continuar con
la operación normal. Si la tina not esta llena, presione el botón X para “NO” y la
pantalla muestra “FILL POT FROM DRN PAN”. Siga las instrucciones.
Nota: Para evitar seguir recibiendo este mensaje asegurese de que la bandeja de
filtrado sea limpiada al menos diariamente , el tanque de aceite este lleno y los o-
rings esten en buena condicion.
“CHECK PAN” = la bandeja de filtrado no esta asegurada en su lugar.
“FILTER PAN MISSING” = La bandeja del aceite no esta en su lugar o no esta
completamente adentro.
“CHANGE FILTER PAD” = El filtro no ha sido cambiado en un periodo de 25 horas.
FREIDORAS ELECTRICAS UNICAMENTE: “E-31” HEATING ELEMENTS ARE UP = Los
calentadores han sido dejados arriba durante el ciclo de mantenimiento; baje los
calentadores.
FREIDORAS ELECTRICAS UNICAMENTE: “E-10” HI LIMIT TRIPPED = Permita que
los calentadores se enfríen y oprima el botón de reset usando un destornillador
pequeño o llave allen y presione el botón que se encuentra en el orificio de la
bisagra del calentador; si el limitador de calor no se resetea llame servicio técnico.
FREIDORA ELECTRICA FREIDORA DE GAS
FREIDORA DE GAS UNICAMENTE: E-20 “NO DRAFT” “CHECK HOOD”= Verifique que
los sistemas de ventilacion no esten obstruidos, verifique el switch de presión.
LA FREIDORA ESTA ENCENDIDA PERO NO CALIENTA = La freidora esta
desconectada o el breaker esta disparado.

temperature. Thetemperature range is 190°F (88°C) to 380°F (193°C).
9. Press buttonand “COOK ID” shows in the display. Enter abbreviated product name (Ex: NUG)
10. Press button and “DUTY1” shows in the display. Press the product buttons to set an alarm.
11. Press button and “DUTY 2” shows in the display, and a second alarm can be programmed.
12. Press buttonand QUALTMRshows in the display. Press product buttons to set holdingtime.
13. Press button and “AIF DISABLE” shows in the display and “YES” or “NO”. Using and
buttonschange thedisplayto “YES”ifthat productisto notbeincluded intheautomaticintermittent
filtrationoperation, or“NO”if it istobe included.
14. Press button and“ASSIGNBTN” shows in thedisplay,along with the product(ex: NUGGETS). If
thisproductalready has a product button assigned to it, that LED will be lit. To assign otherproduct
buttonsto that product, press and holdthe product button for 3 secondsand that LED stays lit. To remove
aproductfroma button, press and hold the product button withalitLEDand the LED goes out.
15. To program another product, press X button and ‘SELECTPRODUCT’showsindisplay. Continue with
step 3 above.
16. Press X button3timestoend programming.
Adding a New Product to the Menu

1. Oprima sin soltar los botones y hasta que se muestre LEVEL - 1 (Nivel - 1) en la pantalla, seguido de
EN ER CODE (Introduzca el código).
2. Introduzca el código 1, 2, 3, 4. Se mostrará “PRODUC ” (Producto) y “SELEC N” (Selección) en las pantallas.
3. Al oprimir el botón √ se mostrarán “SELEC PRODUC ” (Seleccionar producto) y “-P 1-” en las pantallas.
4. Los botones  y  permiten recorrer los 40 productos. ambién puede oprimir el botón del producto deseado.
5. Oprima el botón √. El producto se mostrará en la pantalla izquierda y “MODIFY” (Modifi car) y “YES NO” se
mostrarán en la pantalla derecha. Oprima el botón √ para cambiar este producto u oprima el botón X para escoger
otro producto.
6. Si oprimió el botón √, use los botones de productos para introducir el nombre del producto. Una vez que se muestre
en pantalla la letra deseada, oprima el botón  para pasar a la letra siguiente.
7. Una vez que el nombre esté completo, oprima el botón . Se mostrará “COOK IME” ( iempo de cocción) en la
pantalla. Use los botones de productos para cambiar el tiempo en minutos y segundo a un máximo de 59:59.
8. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “ EMP” ( emperatura) en la pantalla. Oprima los botones de productos para
cambiar la temperatura. La gama de temperaturas es de 88°C (190°F) a 193°C (380°F).
9. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “COOK ID” (ID de cocción) en la pantalla. Introduzca el nombre abreviado del
producto (Ejemplo: NUG)
10. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “DU Y 1” (Servicio 1) en la pantalla. Oprima los botones de productos para fi jar
una alarma.
11. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “DU Y 2” en la pantalla y se podrá programar una segunda alarma.
12. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “QUAL MR” ( emporizador de calidad) en la pantalla. Oprima los botones de
productos para fi jar el tiempo de espera.
13. Oprima el botón  hasta que se muestre “AIF DISABLE” (Desactivar AIF) en la pantalla junto con “YES” o
“NO”. Use los botones  y  para cambiar la pantalla a “SÍ” si no se va a incluir ese producto en la operación de
fi ltración intermitente automática, o “NO” si se va a incluir.
14. Oprima el botón . Se mostrará “ASSIGN B N” (Botón Asignar) en la pantalla junto con el producto (ejemplo:
NUGGE S). Si este producto ya tiene un botón asignado al mismo, se encenderá ese LED. Para asignar otros
botones a ese producto, oprima sin soltar el botón de producto durante 3 segundos y el LED permanecerá
encendido. Para borrar un producto de un botón, oprima sin soltar el botón del producto con un LED. El LED
se apagará.
15. Para programar otro producto, oprima el botón X. Se mostrará “SELEC PRODUC ” en la pantalla. Continúe con
el paso 3 de arriba.
16. Oprima el botón X tres veces para terminar la programación.
Cómo añadir un nuevo producto al menú

1. Put on protective gear: Use all McDonald’s approved safety equipment including, Apron, Face Shield and
Gloves. Hot oil can cause severe burns.
2. Press and hold (on either side) until display shows 1.AUTO FILTER?.
3. Press and release and display shows 2.MAINT FILTER?. Press √√
√√
√button and display shows
“PUT ON *PPE*, followed by CONFIRM? and YES NO.
4. Press √√

√and display shows DRAINING and the oil drains from the vat, or press Xbutton for NO and
controls return to normal operation.
5. If filtering is desired, press √√

√button for YES and display shows DRAINING
and the oil drains from the vat. Gas units, continue to step 7.
6. Electric units only. Use the lift tool and lift the hinged element to clean the
bottom of the vat. Use care not to damage high limit bulb. Figure 1.
7. Use the scouring tool, a nylon scouring pad, and a small amount of McD Fryer
Cleanser to scrub the inside of the vat. Be careful not to damage the
sensing probes.
8. Once the vat is clean and the display shows SCRUB COMPLETE?, and YES NO. Press √√

√and the display
shows WASH VAT?, and YES NO.
9. Lower the elements (electric units only) and press √√
√√
√and display shows WASHING. Once the wash cycle
is complete, display shows WASH AGAIN?, and YES NO.
10. Press √√

√if another wash is needed, otherwise press Xbutton for NO and the display shows RINSING.
When rinsing is complete, display shows RINSE AGAIN?, and YES NO.

√button and the oil is “polished” and the display shows 5:00, followed by STOP POLISH. If desired,
press Xbutton for STOP to stop the polishing, otherwise the oil is polished for 5 minutes.
13. The display shows FILL VAT?, and YES NO. Press √√

√and display shows FILLING and vat fills with oil.
14. Once full, display shows IS POT FILLED?, and YES NO. Press √√

√and fryer returns to normal operation.

1. Póngase los equipos protectores: Use todos los equipos de seguridad aprobados de McDonald’s incluido un

puede oprimir el botón X para indicar NO. Los controles volverán a la operación normal.
5. Si se desea efectuar la fi ltración, oprima el botón √ para indicar SÍ. La
pantalla mostrará “DRAINING” y el aceite se vaciará de la tina. Unidades de
gas, continúe en el Paso 7.
6. Unidades eléctricas solamente. Use la herramienta de levantamiento y levante
el elemento articulado para limpiar el fondo de la tina. Tenga cuidado de no
dañar la bombilla de límite alto. Figura 1.
7. Use la herramienta para restregar, un estropajo de nilón y una pequeña
cantidad de limpiador de freidoras McD para fregar el interior de la tina.
Tenga cuidado de no dañar las sondas de detección.
8. Una vez que la tina esté limpia y la pantalla muestre “SCRUB COMPLETE?” (¿Fregado completo? y YES
NO, oprima el botón √ . La pantalla mostrará WASH VAT? (¿Lavar tina? y YES NO.
9. Baje los elementos (unidades eléctricas solamente) y oprima el botón √ . La pantalla mostrará WASHING
(Lavando . Una vez que se complete el ciclo de lavado, la pantalla mostrará “WASH AGAIN?” (¿Lavar
nuevamente? .
10. Oprima el botón √ si se necesita otro lavado. Si no es así, oprima el botón X para indicar NO. La pantalla
mostrará RINSING (Enjuagando .
Cuando se complete el enjuagado, la pantalla mostrará “RINSE AGAIN?” (¿Enjuagar de nuevo? y “YES NO”.
11. Oprima el botón √ si se necesita otro enjuague. Si no es así, oprima el botón X para indicar NO. La pantalla
mostrará POLISH (Pulir y YES.
12. Oprima el botón √ . El aceite se “pulirá” y la pantalla mostrará 5:00, seguido de STOP POLISH (Dejar de
pulir . Si se desea, oprima el botón X para detener el pulido, ya que de lo contrario el aceite se pulirá durante
5 minutos.
13. La pantalla muestra FILL VAT? (¿Llenar tina? y YES NO. Oprima √ . La pantalla mostrará FILLING
(Llenando y la tina se llenará de aceite.
14. Una vez llena, la pantalla mostrará “IS POT FILLED?” (¿Está lleno el tanque? y YES NO. Oprima el botón
√ . La freidora volverá a la operación normal.

interruptor RTI.
3. Oprima sin soltar el lado ADD
(Añadir) del interruptor RTI
para añadir aceite al JIB.

1. La luz azul se ilumina y el control muestra “FLTR NOW?” (¿Filtrar ahora?) unto
con “YES NO”.
2. Oprima el botón √ para indicar SÍ. El control mostrará *SKIM* (Desnatar), unto
con “CONFIRM” (Confi rmar) y después “YES NO”.
AVISO
Oprima el botón X para cancelar la AIF. La luz azul se apagará y los controles
volverán a la operación normal. Los controles sugerirán que se efectúe la fi ltración
más adelante.
3. Si desea efectuar la fi ltración, oprima el botón √. La pantalla mostrará
“DRAINING” (Drenando). El drena e se abrirá y el aceite se vaciará de la tina.
