Information zum Vorbild
1950 beschloss die Deutsche Bundesbahn die dringende
Modernisierung ihres Fuhrparks mit der Beschaffung von
Elektrolokomotiven mit überwiegend standardisierten Bautei-
len und erteilte an alle bedeutenden Lokomotivfabriken den
Auftrag, entsprechende Vorschläge auszuarbeiten.
Ab 1956 bis 1971 wurden insgesamt 451 Loks der Baureihe
E 41 beschafft. Sie sollte für mehrere Jahrzehnte nicht nur
den Nahverkehr von den Alpen bis zur Küste prägen. Man
kann die gelungene Konstruktion als eine Universalloko-
motive bezeichnen, da sie in ihrer langen Betriebszeit so
ziemlich alles vorspannte, was der Zugverkehr erlaubt.
Ihre Stammaufgabe blieb der Nahverkehr, vornehmlich im
Wendezugbetrieb mit Silberlingen. Auf Grund der gefor-
derten geringeren Achslast, die sich auf zwei zweiachsige
Drehgestelle verteilte, konnte die E 41 problemlos auf den
elektrifizierten Nebenbahnen eingesetzt werden.
Der ölgekühlte Transformator bekam ein Schaltwerk auf
der Niederspannungsseite, was zu einer für die Baureihe
E 41 charakteristischen Geräuschentwicklung führte. Die
Höchstgeschwindigkeit der 15,62 m langen Lok betrug
120 km/h. Als die Bundesbahn die Höchstgeschwindigkeit
für Schnellzüge Ende der 1950er-Jahre auf 140 km/h anhob,
wurden weitere E 41 ausschließlich in grüner Lackierung
ausgeliefert, da das elegante Blau nur schnellen fernver-
kehrtauglichen Lokomotiven vorbehalten war.
Ab Anfang der 1990er-Jahre wurde die Baureihe 141
immer mehr von der Baureihe 143 verdrängt und durch die
Umstellung des Nahverkehrs auf Triebwagen schrumpfte ihr
Bestand zusehends.
Information about the Prototype
In 1950, the German Federal Railroad decided to go ahead with
the urgent modernization of its motive power with the purchase
of electric locomotives with predominantly standardized
components and contracted with all of the important locomotive
builders to come up with appropriate suggestions.
A total of 451 class E 41 locomotives were purchased
between 1956 and 1971. For several decades they left their
stamp on more than just the commuter service from the
Bavarian Alps to the German coast. This successful design
can be considered as a general-purpose locomotive, since
it was used as motive power for practically every kind
of train service during its long service life. Its traditional
task remained commuter service, in particular in push/pull
operation with “Silberlinge / Silver Coins“ commuter cars.
Due to the required low axle load distributed over 2 two-axle
trucks, the E 41 could be used with no problem on electrified
branch lines.
The oil-cooled transformer was equipped with a relay layout
on the low voltage side, which was the source of a charac-
teristic noise on the class E 41. The maximum speed for this
15.62 meter / 51 foot 3 inch long locomotive was 120 km/h
/ 75 mph. When the German Federal Railroad raised the
maximum speed for express trains at the end of the Fifties to
140 km/h / 88 mph, E 41 locomotives coming after that were
only painted in green, since the elegant blue was reserved
only for fast locomotives in long distance service.
At the start of the Nineties, the class 141 was being increasingly
replaced by the class 143, and its roster decreased more due to
the switch to powered rail cars for commuter service.

Informatie van het voorbeeld
In 1950 besloot de Deutsche Bundesbahn tot de dringende
modernisering van het voertuigenpark met de aanschaf van
elektrische locomotieven met overwegend gestandaardise-
erde onderdelen en droeg alle belangrijke locomotieffabrie-
ken op de betreffende voorstellen uit te werken.
Vanaf 1956 tot 1971 werden in totaal 451 locs van de serie
E 41 aangeschaft. Die moest voor meerdere decennia niet
alleen het buurtverkeer in de Alpen maximaal bedienen.
Men kan de geslaagde constructie als een universele
locomotief aanduiden, omdat ze in haar lange inzettijd,
ongeveer alles trok wat er maar aan treinverkeer bestaat.
Haar basisopdracht bleef het buurtverkeer, voornamelijk in
het keertreinbedrijf met Silberlingen. Vanwege de geëiste
geringere asdruk die over twee tweeassige draaistellen
verdeeld werd, kon de E 41 probleemloos op de geëlektrifi-
ceerde zijlijnen ingezet worden.
De oliegekoelde transformator kreeg een schakelwerk op de
laagpanningskant, wat tot een voor de serie E 41 karakteris-
tieke geluidsontwikkeling leidde. De maximumsnelheid van de
15,62 m lange loc bedroeg 120 km/h. Toen de Bundesbahn de
maximumsnelheid voor sneltreinen eind jaren 1950 naar
140 km/h verhoogde, werden meer E 41 uitsluitend in de groe-
ne kleurstelling afgeleverd, omdat het elegante blauw alleen
aan snelle locomotieven die voor de lange afstand bedoeld
waren, voorbehouden was.
Vanaf begin jaren 1990 werd de serie 141 steeds meer door de
serie 143 verdrongen en door de reorganisatie van het buurt-
verkeer op treinstellen kromp haar bestand zienderogen.
Informations concernant la locomotive réelle
Avec l’acquisition de locomotives électriques construites
essentiellement à partir d’éléments standardisés, la Deutsche
Bundesbahn opta en 1950 pour la modernisation urgente de
son parc traction et chargea toutes les usines importantes de
locomotives de l’élaboration de projets correspondants.
Au total, 451 locomotives de la série E 41 furent acquises
entre 1956 et 1971. Cette construction réussie ne marqua
pas uniquement le trafic de courte distance des Alpes
jusqu’à la côte durant plusieurs décennies, mais peut être
considérée comme locomotive universelle puisque durant
ses longues années de service, elle remorqua à peu près
tout ce que l’on peut rencontrer dans le trafic ferroviaire.
Son affectation de base resta le trafic de courte distance,
essentiellement dans l’exploitation de rames réversibles
avec les voitures inox «Silberlinge». Grâce à sa charge par
essieu relativement faible, répartie sur deux bogies à deux
essieux, la E 41 pouvait être utilisée sans problème sur les
lignes secondaires électrifiées.
Le transformateur à bain d’huile fut doté d’un dispositif
d’encliquetage côté basse-tension ce qui généra un bruit carac-
téristique pour la série E 41. La vitesse maximale de cette loco-
motive de 15,62 m de long était de 120 km/h. Lorsqu’à la fin des
années 1950, la Bundesbahn augmenta la vitesse maximale des
trains rapides à 140 km/h, d’autres E 41 furent livrées exclusive-
ment en livrée verte, l’élégant bleu étant réservé aux locomotives
rapides pour les trains de grandes lignes.
A partir des années 1990, la série 141 fut de plus en plus
évincée par la série 143 et avec la prise en charge du trafic
de courte distance par des automotrices, l’effectif diminua
à vue d’œil.

Sicherheitshinweise

• Nur Schaltnetzteile/Transformatoren verwenden, die

• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle versorgt
werden.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der
Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
• Setzen Sie das Modell keiner direkten Sonneneinstrah-
lung, starken Temperaturschwankungen oder hoher
Luftfeuchtigkeit aus.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das
Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset
74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset
nicht geeignet.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec un
système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin AC,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital ou Märklin Systems).
• Utiliser uniquement des convertisseurs et transforma-
teurs correspondant à la tension du secteur local.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que par
une seule source de courant.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur la
sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi de votre système
d’exploitation.
• Ne pas exposer le modèle à un ensoleillement direct,
à de fortes variations de température ou à un taux
d‘humidité important.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode convention-
nel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A cet
effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set de
déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en mode
numérique.

Veiligheidsvoorschriften
• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd bedrijfs-
systeem (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin digitaal of
Märklin Systems) gebruikt worden.
• Alleen net-adapters en transformatoren gebruiken
waarvan de aangegeven netspanning overeenkomt met
de netspanning ter plaatse.
• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening
gelijktijdig gevoed worden.
• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de
gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.
• Stel het model niet bloot aan in directe zonnestraling,
sterke temperatuurwisselingen of hoge luchtvochtigheid.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de
ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf
is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
Algemene aanwijzingen
• De gebruiksaanwijzing en de verpakking zijn een be-
standdeel van het product en dienen derhalve bewaard
en meegeleverd te worden bij het doorgeven van het
product.
• Voor reparatie of onderdelen kunt u zich tot uw Märklin
winkelier wenden.

Aviso de seguridad
• La locomotora solamente debe funcionar en un sistema
de corriente propio (Märklin AC – Märklin Delta –
Märklin Digital o Märklin Systems).
• Emplear únicamente fuentes de alimentación conmutadas
y transformadores que sean de la tensión de red local.
• La locomotora no deberá recibir corriente eléctrica mas
que de un solo punto de abasto.
• Observe bajo todos los conceptos, las medidas de
seguridad indicadas en las instrucciones de su sistema
de funcionamiento.
• No exponer el modelo en miniatura a la radiación solar
directa, a oscilaciones fuertes de temperatura o a una
humedad del aire elevada.
• Para el funcionamiento convencional de la locomotora
deben suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexión
de la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set
supresor de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de
interferencias no es adecuado para el funcionamiento en
modo digital.
Indicaciones generales
• Las instrucciones de empleo y el embalaje forman parte
íntegra del producto y, por este motivo, deben guardarse y
entregarse junto con el producto en el caso de venderlo o
transmitirlo a otro.
• Para reparaciones o recambios contacte con su provee-
dor Märklin especializado.

Control Unit, Mobile Station oppure Central Station.
• Illuminazione di testa dipendente dalla direzione di
marcia.
• Nel funzionamento analogico si hanno a disposizione
solamente le funzioni di marcia e di commutazione dei
fanali.
Märklin non fornisce alcuna garanzia, assicurazione e risarcimentodanni in
caso di montaggio sui prodotti Märklin di componenti non espressamente
approvati dalla ditta. Märklin altresì non risponde in caso di modifiche al
prodotto, qualora i difetti e i danni riscontrati sullo stesso siano stati causati
da modifiche non autorizzate o dal montaggio di componente esterni non
approvati. L‘onere della prova che i componenti montati e le modifiche
apportate non sono state la causa del danno o del difetto, resta a carico del
cliente o della persona / ditta che ha effettuato il montaggio di componenti
estranei o che ha apportato modifiche non autorizzate.
Avvertenze per la sicurezza
• Tale locomotiva deve essere impiegata soltanto con un sis-
tema di funzionamento adeguato per questa (Märklin AC,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oppure Märklin Systems).
• Impiegare soltanto alimentatori „switching“ e trasforma-
tori che corrispondono alla Vostra tensione di rete locale.
• La locomotiva non deve venire alimentata nello stesso
tempo con più di una sorgente di potenza.
• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avverten-
ze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro
sistema di funzionamento.
• Non esponete tale modello ad alcun irraggiamento solare
diretto, a forti escursioni di temperatura oppure a elevata
umidità dell’aria.
• Per il funzionamento tradizionale della locomotiva il bina-
rio di alimentazione deve essere protetto dai disturbi. A
tale scopo si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi 74046.
Tale corredo antidisturbi non è adatto per il funzionamen-
to Digital.
Avvertenze generali
• Le istruzioni di impiego e l’imballaggio costituiscono un
componente sostanziale del prodotto e devono pertanto
venire conservati nonché consegnati insieme in caso di
ulteriore cessione del prodotto.

Säkerhetsanvisningar
• Loket får endast köras med ett därtill avsett driftsystem

sade för det lokala elnätet.
• Loket får inte samtidigt försörjas av mer än en kraftkälla.
• Beakta alltid säkerhetsanvisningarna i bruksanvisningen
som hör till respektive driftsystemet.
• Modellen får inte utsättas för direkt solljus, häftiga tem-
peraturväxlingar eller hög luftfuktighet.
• När motorvagnens lokdel ska köras med konventionell/
analog drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd. Till
detta använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med av-
störning och överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyddet
får inte användas vid digital körning.

Vink om sikkerhed
• Lokomotivet må kun bruges med et driftssystem
(Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital eller
Märklin Systems), der er beregnet dertil.
• Anvend kun DC-DC-omformere og transformatorer, der
passer til den lokale netspænding.
• Lokomotivet må ikke forsynes fra mere end én strømkilde
ad gangen.
• Vær under alle omstændigheder opmærksom på de vink
om sikkerhed, som findes i brugsanvisningen for Deres
driftssystem.
• Modellen må ikke udsættes for direkte sollys, store
temperaturudsving eller høj luftfugtighed.
• Ved konventionel drift af lokomotivet skal tilslutningssporet
støjdæmpes. Dertil skal anvendes støjdæmpningssættet
74046. Støjdæmpningssættet er ikke egnet til digital drift.
