functionkeyson MEGASTICK528 willbedisabledinstantly.

1. Slidethebatterycoveropen,and thenswing theUSBconnectorout.
2. Slidethebatterycoverbacktotheoriginalposition.
3. Plug MEGASTICK528 tothecomputerUSBconnectordirectly.Also,
youcanconnecttocomputerwithasuppliedUSBcable.
4. Once MEGASTICK528 isconnectedtothecomputer, MEGASTICK
528 shouldbedetectedbytheoperatingsystemautomatically.
Note:IftheoperatingsystemofyourcomputerisWindows98SE,a
hardwaredriverforMEGASTICK528 willberequired.

Hardware Installationfor Windows98SEonly
When MEGASTICK528 isconnectedtoacomputerwithWindows98SE
operatingsystem,thesystemwillautomaticallydetectthenewhardware,and
askforahardwaredrivertobeinstalled. Toinstallthedriver,place thesupplied
driverCDintotheCDdrive,andfollowtheon-screeninstructionstocomplete
theinstallation.
Install Utilities
ThesuppliedDriverCDincludesa MEGASTICK528 specializeddriver.Itis
recommendedtoinstallevenifyouroperatingsystemisWindows2000 orXP.
Then,your systemcanrecognizeandfullysupportthisdevice.Thedriver
program includesautilityforupgradingthelatestfirmwareprovidedbyMSI
website.SimplyinsertthesupplieddiskintotheCDdrive,andthenfollowthe
on-screeninstructionstocompletetheinstallation.
Utilize the Utility
Once theUtilityisinstalled,youwill beabletoupdatingthefirmwareorformat
your MEGASTICK528.

FirmwareUpdating
Toupdatethefirmware,downloadthelatestfirmwarefromMSIwebsitefirst,
andplace thedownloadedfirmwareunder[Programfiles->MSI->MS-5528]:
1. Slidethe Power switchand keepholding.
2. Connect MEGASTICK528 toyourcomputer.
3. Goto[Device Manager],find [MSIMS-5528USBDevice]in[DiskDrive]
tocheckconnection.Iffailed, youcannotfindit.Repeat step1 tore-connect.
4. Select[Start->Programs->MSIMS-5528MEGASTICK->MSIMS-5528
Update]toloadthefirmware.
5. Afterloading firmware,youcansee anupdatedialog.

6. DeselectFormatDataArea toupdatethenewfirmwarewithoutformatting
MEGASTICK528.SelectFormatDataAreatoupdatethenewfirmware
andformatMEGASTICK528atthesametime.
7. Press Startbuttontostartupdating thenewfirmware.
Format MEGASTICK528
ToformatMEGASTICK528, pleaserefertheconnectinginstructionmentioned
previouslytoconnectMEGASTICK528toyourcomputerfirst.Onceyou
connectMEGASTICK528toyourcomputer,youmayformatMEGASTICK
528 withtheformattoolofferedbyWindows.
Note:Usethefirmwareupdateutilitytoformat MEGASTICK528 canensuretheformat
quality.
Note:If youformatMEGASTICK528,thedataandfilesstoredinsidewillbeall erased!
Note:If youneedtoformatMEGASTICKbyotherformatutility,pleaseselect FAT16 or

Aftermanagingthefilesorupdatingfirmware,youhavetofollowthestepsto

safetyremovethe MEGASTICK528,topreventsystemordevicecorrupt:
1. WhileanUSBdevice isconnectingtocomputer,therewill bean icon
onthetaskbar.DoubleclicktheicontobringtheSafelyRemoveHardware
dialogbox.Youcanfindallthedevicesconnectedonthedisplay.To
remove MEGASTICK528,closealltheprogramsrelated,and click USB
Mass StorageDevice and Stop button.
2. Thenyousee awindowasbelow, click USBMass StorageDevice and OK
Therewillbethefollowingmessage,
andyoucanremovethedevice now.

EdittheLyric
Usersareabletosee thelyricwhenthesongisplaying.Beforeyoucansee the
lyric, youhavetoadd ittoeachMP3.Youcandownloadit,writeityourself, use
peculiarprogramsorplug-insof Winamptoeditit.
Editthelyrictextfilewithatexteditor
1. Executeatexteditor.
2. Typetheeachsentence asthefollowingformat.
[hh:mm:ss]lyric
hh:hour, mm:minute, ss:second, lyric:thelyric.
Note:Manytimestampsallowtobeinsertedatthesameline,that s
suitableforthechorus.
3. SavethefilewiththesamenameastheMP3fileandwithextension".lrc".
4. Storeboth.mp3and.lrcfilesin MEGASTICK528.
5. Enablethe Lyric function.(Pleasereferto SettingLyricShowing in
Chapter4).
6. Playthesong,and enjoyyourkaraokewith MEGASTICK528.
