MEGAPLAYER540 isahigh performance portable digital audio/videoplayer
andaphotobrowser that enablesusersnotonlytoplayMP3, WMA, WMAwith
DRMaudiofilesor M-JPEGvideofiles,showJPEGgraphic files,listentothe
FM radiobroadcast(FMradioisanoptional function), and record voice,FM
programor directlyrecord wheneverneeded,butalsotostorepersonal data in
thememoryofthisdevice.

MEGAPLAYER540 comeswithaLi-ionrechargeable battery.Tousethe
device for theveryfirsttime, remember tochargetheLi-ionbattery. Followthe
instructionsbelow:
1. Opentherubber cover of MEGAPLAYER540 USB/DCport, youwill see
aDCinputportinside.
2. Connect MEGAPLAYER540 totheadapter,andplug it toACpower
outlet.
3. While recharging isongoing, theLEDwill belightinorangecolor. Ifthe
LEDchangestogreen, thebatteryisfullofpower.Thebuilt-inbatteryis
80-percentchargedinaboutthree hours, andfullychargedinaboutfive
hours.
4. Tostoprecharging, disconnectcable from MEGAPLAYER540.
Note:The built-in batterywillnotberechargedwhen MEGAPLAYER540 is
connectedtothe computerwith the suppliedUSBcable.
BatteryConsumingReference
MEGAPLAYER540 comeswithaLi-ionrechargeable battery.
Note: Beforeusingforthe firsttime, werecommendeight hours forafull
batterycharge.
HoldSwitch
MEGAPLAYER540 hasaHoldSwitch,whichislocatedonthesideof the
device for preventing anyaccidental operationwhile MEGAPLAYER540 is
recording or playing.Once theHoldSwitchisslidetothelockposition,all
functionkeyson MEGAPLAYER540 will bedisabledinstantly.

Connect MEGAPLAYER 540to Your Computer
1. Opentherubbercoverof MEGAPLAYER540 USB/DCport,youwill see
aminiUSB(AB-type) portinside.
2. Plug oneendofthesuppliedUSBregularcable to MEGAPLAYER540,
andplug theother endtoyour computer.
3. Once MEGAPLAYER540 isconnectedtocomputer,it shouldbedetected
bytheoperatingsystemautomatically.
Install Utilities
ThesuppliedDriverCDincludesa MEGAPLAYER540 specializedutility.It
isrecommendedtoinstall evenifyouroperating systemisWindowsME, 2000
or XP.Then,your systemcanrecognize andfullysupportthisdevice.Thedriver
programincludesaWindowsMedia Playerplug-infunction.Simplyinsertthe
supplieddiskintotheCDdrive,andthenfollowtheon-screeninstructionsto
complete theinstallation.

Once youinstalledthe MEGAPLAYER540 utility,youwillbeable toupdate
andsynchronizesongsandinformationof songswithWindowsMedia Player.

1. Connect MEGAPLAYER540 toyour computer.
2. Start WindowsMediaPlayer9.
3. Click “CopytoCD orDevice”.
4. IntheItemstoCopypane,inthedrop-downlist,clicktheplaylist,category,
or other itemthat youwanttocopy.
5. Clear thecheckboxesnexttoanyfilesyoudo notwanttocopy.
6. IntheItemsonDevice pane,inthedrop-downlist,clickthedevice Portable
DigitalPlayer.
7. Clickthe Copy button.
8. WhenanitemiscopiedtoMEGAPLAYER540,theStatuscolumninthe
ItemstoCopypanedisplaysthefollowinginformationfor eachitem:
-Inspecting.WindowsMedia Playerverifiesthat thereisenoughstorage
space ontheportable device, andinspectstheselectedfilesfor errors.

-Converting/Converted (includesthepercentageofconversiondone). If
necessary,eachfile isconvertedtotheselectedqualitylevelor
compressionrate.
-Copying (includesthepercentageofcopydone). Thefile isbeing
copied.
-Complete.Thecopyisdone.
Synchronize songswithWindowsMediaPlayer 10
1. Connect MEGAPLAYER540 toyour computer.
2. Start WindowsMediaPlayer10.
3. Inthe Library feature,inthe Playlist pane,click<Listname> List,andthen
click Sync List.

4. IntheItemsonDevice pane, select Portable DigitalPlayer.
5. Clickthe Start Sync buttonintheListpane.
-Once youinstalledthe MEGAPLAYER540 utility,youwillbeable to
update andsynchronize songsandinformationofsongswithWindows
Media Player.
Firmware Recoveryor Updating
NOTE:THISISANADVANCEDOPERATION.NORMALUSERSARE
NOTRECOMMENDEDTOPERFORMTHISOPERATION!
Torecoveror update thefirmware,downloadthelatestfirmwarefromMSI
website or onthesuppliedCD,andthenunpackthefile. Afterthedata is
unpackedafolderwill becreatedcontainingthefilesrequiredfor thefirmware
update.
1. Connect MEGAPLAYER540 toyour computer.
2. Double-clickthe"FirmwareRecoveryUtility"iconincludedinthefolder

wherethefileswereunpacked.
3. Click “Update”, it will takefewseconds.
Note:Ifyouupdatefirmware,thedataandfiles storedinsidemaybeall erased!Make
sureyou have abackupbeforeyou update.
4. Turnthedevice off, andthendisconnect theUSBcable fromthedevice.
Safety Remove MEGAPLAYER 540 fromComputer
Aftermanagingthefilesor updating firmware,youhavetofollowthestepsto
safetyremovethe MEGAPLAYER540, topreventsystemor device corrupt:
1. While anUSBdevice isconnectingtocomputer,therewillbean icon
onthe taskbar.Double clicktheicon tobringtheSafelyRemoveHardware
dialogbox.Youcanfindallthedevicesconnectedonthedisplay.To
remove MEGAPLAYER540,closeall theprogramsrelated,andclick
USBMass StorageDevice and Stop button.

Using FiveWayButton
FiveWayButtonisoneofthe mostimportantfeaturesof MEGAPLAYER
540.Inthisdocument,wewillusetheterm, “Select”, tomeanthat youshould
pushFiveWayButtontoleftor righttobrowsethroughoptions, andthenselect
theoptionbypressing theFiveWayButton.
YoucanalsoadjustvolumelevelswiththeFiveWayButton. PushFiveWay
Buttontouptoincreasevolumeor downtodecreasevolume.
Using Exit/SubmenuButton
Usethe buttontoexit fromfolders, menusor call submenu. Inthis
document,wewill usetheterm, “Call submenu”, tomeanthat youshoulddown
andhold buttonfor twosecondstodisplaytheoptionsavailable.
Power On
1. SlidePower Switchonce.
2. Thescreenwill displaythelastmode.

Note:
-Toplayall ofyourmusic bythesame
artist/album, select the Artist/Album item.
