capacityofthebattery.

HoldSwitch
MEGAPLAYER533 hasaHoldSwitch,whichislocatedontherearsideof
thedevice forpreventinganyaccidentaloperationwhile MEGAPLAYER533
isrecordingorplaying.Once theHoldSwitchisslidetothelockposition,all
functionkeyson MEGAPLAYER533 willbedisabledinstantly.

ConnectMEGA PLAYER533to YourComputer
1. Plug oneendof thesuppliedUSBcableto MEGAPLAYER533,and plug
theotherend toyourcomputer.
2. Once MEGAPLAYER533 isconnectedtocomputer,it shouldbedetected
bytheoperatingsystemautomatically.
Note:IftheoperatingsystemofyourcomputerisWindows98SE,a
hardwaredriverforMEGAPLAYER533 willberequired.

Hardware Installationfor Windows98SEonly
When MEGAPLAYER533 isconnectedtoacomputerwithWindows98SE
operatingsystem,thesystemwillautomaticallydetectthenewhardware,and
askforahardwaredrivertobeinstalled. Toinstallthedriver,place thesupplied
driverCDintotheCDdrive,andfollowtheon-screeninstructionstocomplete
theinstallation.
Install Utilities
ThesuppliedDriverCDincludesa MEGAPLAYER533 specializeddriver.It
isrecommendedtoinstallevenifyour operatingsystemisWindows2000orXP.
Then,your systemcanrecognizeandfullysupportthisdevice.Thedriver
program includesautilityforupgradingthelatestfirmwareprovidedbyMSI
website.SimplyinsertthesupplieddiskintotheCDdrive,andthenfollowthe
on-screeninstructionstocompletetheinstallation.
Utilize the Utility
Once theUtilityisinstalled,youwill beabletoupdatingthefirmwareorformat
your MEGAPLAYER533.
NOTE:THIS IS ANADVANCEDOPERATION.NORMALUSERSARE
NOTRECOMMENDEDTOPERFORMTHIS OPERATION!

FirmwareUpdating
Toupdatethefirmware,downloadthelatestfirmwarefromMSIwebsitefirst,
andplace thedownloadedfirmwareunder[Programfiles->MSI->MS-5533]:
1. Press the Power buttonand keepholding.
2. Connect MEGAPLAYER533 toyourcomputer.
3. Goto[Device Manager],find [MSIMS-5533USBDevice]in[DiskDrive]
tocheckconnection.Iffailed, youcannotfindit.Repeat step1 tore-connect.
4. Select[Start->Programs->MSIMS-5533MEGAPLAYER->MSI
MS-5533 Update]toloadthefirmware.
5. Afterloading firmware,youcansee anupdatedialog.
6. DeselectFormatDataArea toupdatethenewfirmwarewithoutformatting
MEGAPLAYER533.SelectFormatData Area toupdatethenewfirmware
andformatMEGAPLAYER533atthesametime.
7. Press Startbuttontostartupdating thenewfirmware.
Formatting
Toformatthebuilt-inmemeryortheSDcardinMEGAPLAYER533,please

refertheconnectinginstructionmentionedpreviouslytoconnectMEGA
PLAYER533 toyour computerfirst.Once youconnectMEGAPLAYER533
toyourcomputer,youmayformatMEGAPLAYER533 withtheformattool
offeredbyWindows.
Note:UsethefirmwareupdateutilitytoformatMEGAPLAYER533canensurethe
format quality.
Note:IfyouformatMEGAPLAYER533,thedataandfilesstoredinsidewill beall
erased!
Note:IfyouneedtoformatMEGAPLAYERbyotherformatutility,pleaseselectFAT16
orFAT32 format.
USBFlashDisk/SDCardReader
Usersareabletosavepersonaldata withmanyformatsavailableintothe
built-inmemoryof the MEGAPLAYER533,orstoredataontheSD card
insidethe MEGAPLAYER533 likeusingacard reader.Tosavedatato
MEGAPLAYER533,simplyconnectit tocomputer,anduse Windows
Explorer tomanageyourdata.
Note:MEGAPLAYER533canbeaflash diskandacardreaderwithoutthe
battery.
Note:Duetothelimitationof memory, whenthetotalfolderamountisover50
orfileamountisover650,somemusicfileswillnotbeabletobeloadedand
beplayed.
Safety RemoveMEGA PLAYER533 fromComputer
Aftermanagingthefilesorupdatingfirmware,youhavetofollowthestepsto
safetyremovethe MEGAPLAYER533,topreventsystemordevice corrupt:
1. WhileanUSBdevice isconnectingtocomputer,therewill bean icon
onthetaskbar.DoubleclicktheicontobringtheSafelyRemoveHardware

dialogbox.Youcanfindallthedevicesconnectedonthedisplay.To
remove MEGAPLAYER533,closeall theprogramsrelated,andclick
USBMassStorageDevice and Stop button.
2. Thenyousee awindowasbelow, click USBMass StorageDevice and OK
Therewillbethefollowingmessage,
andyoucanremovethedevice now.

Ifyourdevice isMEGAPLAYER533 Lite(withouttheLCDpanel),please
jumptoread Chapter5.UsageforLiteVersion. Inthisdocument,wewill use
theterm, “Select”, tomeanthatyoushouldpress the Rewind/Left or
Forward/Right buttontobrowsethroughoptions,andthenselecttheoptionby
press the Power/Play/Pause button.
Power On
1. Press the Power buttonfortwoseconds.
2. Afterpoweron,thedefault modeisPlayback
“stop”mode.
3. Press the Play buttontoplaythetrack.
4. Duringplayback, youcanpress the Pause button
topausetheplayback.
Power Off
Press the Power buttonand hold. Youwillsee a PowerOffStatusBar
appearing onthedisplaytoindicatethePowerOffstatus.Notethatittakes
abouttwosecondstoturnthepoweroff.
MusicPlayback
1. Press the Mode buttontoselectthe Music item.

2. Selectthesongyouwanttolisten,andthenpress
the Play buttontoplay.
PlayingVoice File
1. Press the Mode buttontoselectthe Voice item.
2. Selectthesongyouwanttolisten,andthenpress
the Play buttontoplay.
FM RadioMode
1. Press the Mode buttontoselect FM Radio item,
whenFMRadioModeisselectedforthevery
firsttime, MEGAPLAYER533 willrunanauto
stationsearchingandstorethesearchedfive
stationsasthepresetfavoritestations.
2.WhentheradiofrequencyappearsontheLCD
screen,Press the Right or Left buttontoadjust
andsearchthepresetchannelyouwant.
3.Press and hold Mode button for twoseconds, a
“SaveCH”messagewillappearontheLCD
screen,thenpress theplaybuttonandselecta
numbertosave.
Press the Play button toswitchthe CH numberthat
youhavesavedbefore.
Toautomaticallyscanand saveradiostations,Press
the Mode buttonandthenselectthe PresetCH item.

and Classical,foruserstochooseasfollowingsteptoincreasetheenjoymentof
listening tomusic,and tomeetthepersonalneedorhabit.
