Safetyinstructions
Before using the helmet, please read the user instructions. Check that the front
cover lens has been correctly fitted. You must not continue welding if the welding
filteris non-functional.
Precautionary measures&safety restrictions
During the welding process, heat and radiation are released, which can cause
damage to the eyes and skin. This product offers protection for the eyes and face.
When wearing the helmet, your eyes are always protected against ultraviolet and
infrared radiation, regardless of the shade level. To protect the rest of your body,
appropriate protective clothing must also be worn. In some circumstances, particles
and substances released by the welding process can trigger allergic skin reactions
in correspondingly predisposed persons. Materials that come into contact with skin
maycause allergicreactionstosusceptiblepersons.
The protective welding helmet must only be used for welding and grinding and not
for other applications. Optrel assumes no liability when the welding helmet is used
for purposes other than intended or with disregard for the operating instructions.
The helmet is suitable for all established welding procedures, excluding gas and
laser welding. Please note the recommended protection level in accordance with
EN169 on thecover.
Standbymode
Theweldingfilterhasanautomaticswitch-offfunction,whichincreasestheservice
lifeoftheproduct.Ifnolightfallsuponthesolarcellsforaperiodofapprox.15min.,
the welding filter automatically switches itself off. To reactivate the filter, the solar
cellsmustbebrieflyexposedto daylight.
If the welding filter no longer activates or darkens when the welding arc ignites, it
must be regarded as non-functional and replaced.

salesorganisation. PleasecontactyourOptreldealerforfurtherinformationinthis
connection.
Warranties are granted for material and manufacturing defects only. In the case
of damage caused by improper use, unauthorised interventions or the use of the
helmetforapurposeotherthanthatintendedbythemanufacturer,thewarrantyand
liability arenolonger valid.Likewise,liabilityand thewarrantyarenolongervalidif
sparepartsotherthanthosesoldbyOptrel areused.
Use
1. Headband.Adjustupper band (1)toyourheadsize.Depress ratchetknob (2)
and turn until theheadbandsits firmlyyetcomfortably.
2. Eye distance and inclination. The distance between the welding filter and
the eyes can be optimally adjusted by loosening the locking knobs (3). The
settingshouldbeidenticalonbothsidestoexcludetilting.Afterthisadjustment,
retightenthelocking knobs.
The helmetinclinationcan beadjusted viaknob(4).
3. Shade level.By turning knob (5), you can select a shade level between DIN 9
and DIN13.
4. Sensorbar.Theinstalledsensorbar(6)reducesthesensorapertureandthus
the external field influence. The sensor bar can be removed using your finger
nail.
5. Delay switch. Thedelayswitch(7)allowsyoutoselectthereactiontimeofthe
filterwhenitchangesfromdarkto bright. “Fast” standsfor a delay of0.1-0.35s
and is recommended for short welding processes. If “slow” can be seen, the
delay is increased to > 0.8s. This setting should be used for long welding
processesand pulse techniques.
Cleaning
Thecartridgeandthefrontcoverlensmustbecleanedregularlyusingasoftcloth.No
strongcleaningagents,alcoholorabrasivecleaningagentsmaybeused.Scratched
ordamagedlensesmustbereplaced.

5. Temporisateur. Cet interrupteur (7) permet de définir le délai d’ouverture
de la cassette, avant qu’elle ne s’éclaircisse de nouveau. Le réglage «Fast»
correspondàunetemporisationcompriseentre0,1et0,35setestrecommandé
pour les procédés de soudage courts. Le réglage «Slow» correspond à une
temporisation supérieure à 0,8 s et est recommandé pour les procédés de
soudagelongsetles techniquesde soudageparimpulsion.
Nettoyage
La cassette optoélectroniqueet l’écrandeprotection frontale doivent être nettoyés
régulièrementavecunchiffondoux.Nepasutiliserdedétergentsforts,desolvants,
d’alcooloudedétergentsabrasifs.Remplaceztoutécranrayéouendommagé.
Stockage
Le masque de soudeur doit être stocké à température ambiante et à un taux
d’humiditébas.

corrigés, la cassette optoélectronique ne doit plus être utilisée
Mesures de précaution et limitation de la protection
La chaleur et le rayonnement dégagés lors du processus de soudure peuvent
provoquerdes blessuresoculaires etcutanées.Ceproduit offre uneprotectiondes
yeuxetduvisage.Quelquesoitledegrédeprotection,lorsquevousportezcemasque,
vos yeux sont toujours protégés des rayonnements ultraviolets et infrarouges. Pour
assurer la protection du reste du corps, il convient en outre de porter des vêtements
deprotectionappropriés.Lesparticulesetsubstanceslibéréeslorsduprocessusde
soudagesontsusceptiblesdedéclencherdesréactionsallergiqueschezcertaines
personnes. Les matériaux entrant en contact avec la peau peuvent causer des
réactions allergiqueschezles personnessensibles.
Lemasquedesoudeur,exclusivementdestiné au soudage et ponçage, ne doit pas
être utilisé pour d’autres applications. Si le masque de soudeur n’est pas utilisé
conformément à sa destination ou que les instructions d’utilisation ne sont pas
respectées, la responsabilité de la société Optrel n’est pas engagée. Le masque
convientpourtouslesprocédésdesoudagecourants, hormis le soudage au gaz
etau laser. Veuilleztenir comptedes recommandations deprotectionselon EN169
figurantsurlajaquette.
Mode«veille»
La cassette optoélectronique est pourvue d’une fonction d’arrêt automatique, qui
permet de prolonger sa durée de vie. Si dans un intervalle de 15 min. environ,
il n’y a pas de lumières sur les photopiles, la cassette optoélectronique s’arrête
automatiquement. Pour remettre la cassette en service, exposez brièvement les
photopiles à lalumière du jour.
S’il n’est plus possible d’activer la cassette optoélectronique ou qu’elle ne s’obscurcit
plus lors de l’allumage de l’arc de soudage, elle doit être considérée comme
impropreàl’utilisationetdoitêtreremplacée.

Utilisation
1. Serre-tête. Ajustez la sangle supérieure (1) à la taille de votre tête. Actionnez
le bouton d’arrêt (2) en le pressant et en le tournant jusqu’à ce que le serre-tête
reposefermementetconfortablement.
2. Distance aux yeux et inclinaison du masque. La distanceentrelacassette
et les yeux peut être optimisée en desserrant les boutons de serrage (3) et
en réglant la distance. Le réglage devrait être identique des deux côtés, afin
d’empêcher le basculement du masque. Resserrez ensuite les boutons de
serrage.
L’inclinaison du masque peut être ajustée au moyen du bouton tournant (4).
3. Niveau de protection. Le niveau de protection peut être réglé sur DIN 9 et
DIN 13 en tournant le bouton (5).
4. Barre à capteurs. La barre à capteurs (6) montée réduit l’ouverture des
capteurs et par conséquent l’influence de lumière parasite, par ex. réflexions.
La barre à capteurs peutêtreécartée à l’aidede l’ongle.

Vorsichtsmassnahmen&Schutzbeschränkung
BeimSchweissprozesswerdenWärmeundStrahlungfreigesetzt,welchezuAugen-
und Hautverletzungen führen können. Dieses Produkt bietet Schutz für Augen und
Gesicht. Ihre Augen sind beim Tragen des Helmes unabhängig von der Wahl der
SchutzstufeimmergegenultravioletteundinfraroteStrahlunggeschützt.ZumSchutz
des restlichen Körpers ist zusätzlich entsprechende Schutzbekleidung zu tragen.
PartikelundSubstanzen,diedurchdenSchweissprozessfreigesetztwerden,können
unterUmständenbeientsprechendveranlagtenPersonenallergischeHautreaktionen
auslösen. Bei empfindlichen Personen kann der Hautkontakt mit dem Kopfteil zu
allergischenReaktionenführen
Der Schweisserschutzhelm darf nur zum Schweissen und Schleifen und nicht für
andereAnwendungenverwendetwerden.WirdderSchweisserhelmzweckentfremdet
oderunterMissachtungderBedienungsanleitungeingesetzt,übernimmtOptrelkeine
Haftung.DerHelmistfürallegängigenSchweissverfahrengeeignet,ausgenommen
Gas-undLaserschweissen.BittebeachtenSiedieSchutzstufenempfehlunggemäss
EN169 aufdemUmschlag.
Schlafmodus
Die Blendschutzkassette verfügt über eine automatische Ausschaltfunktion, die
die Lebensdauer erhöht. Fällt während ca. 15 Min. kein Licht auf die Solarzellen,
schaltetsichdieBlendschutzkassetteautomatischaus.ZumWiedereinschaltender
KassettemüssendieSolarzellenkurzdemTageslichtausgesetztwerden.
SolltesichdieBlendschutzkassettenichtmehraktivierenlassenoderbeimZünden
desSchweissbogensnichtmehrverdunkeln,musssiealsnichtmehrgebrauchsfähig
beurteiltundersetzt werden.

Anwendung
1. Kopfband. Passen Sie das obere Verstellband (1) an Ihre Kopfgrösse an.
Ratschenknopf (2)hineindrücken unddrehenbisdasKopfbandsattaberohne
Druckanliegt.
2. Augenabstand und Helmneigung. Durch das Lösen der Arretierknöpfe (3)
wird der Abstand zwischen Kassette und Augen eingestellt. Beide Seiten
gleicheinstellenundnichtverkanten.AnschliessenddieArretierknöpfewieder
anziehen.
DieHelmneigunglässtsichdurchden Drehknopf(4)anpassen.
3. Schutzstufe. Durch Drehen des Knopfes (5) können Sie die Schutzstufe
zwischen DIN9undDIN 13wählen.
4. Sensorsteg.DermontierteSensorsteg(6)reduziertdieÖffnungderSensoren
und damitdenEinflussvonFremdlicht,z.B.Reflexionen.DerSensorstegkann
mitdem Fingernagelentferntwerden.
5. Öffnungsschalter. Der Öffnungsschalter (7) erlaubt die Wahl der
Öffnungsverzögerung von dunkel auf hell. „Fast“ bedeutet eine Verzögerung
von 0.1-0.35s und wird für kurze Schweissprozesse empfohlen. Ist „slow“
sichtbar, wird die Verzögerung auf > 0.8s verlängert. Diese Einstellung sollte
beilangen SchweissprozessenundPulstechnikenverwendetwerden.
Reinigung
Die Blendschutzkassette und die Vorsatzscheibe müssen regelmässig mit
einem weichen Tuch gereinigt werden. Es dürfen keine starken Reinigungsmittel,
Lösungsmittel,AlkoholoderReinigungsmittelmitSchleifmittelanteilverwendetwerden.
ZerkratzteoderbeschädigteSichtscheiben solltenersetztwerden.
Lagerung
Der Schweisserschutzhelm ist bei Raumtemperatur und tiefer Luftfeuchtigkeit zu
lagern.
Vorsatzscheibeauswechseln
Frontscheibenrahmen bei der Aussparung von unten anfassen und nach oben
wegziehen (8). Vorsatzscheibe in Rahmen einsetzen und Frontscheibenrahmen
zuerstoben,dannuntenwieder einklipsen;gutandrücken(9).
