1Material and Tools Required
Lint-free cloths
Acetone as a solvent
Drive screw lubricant: Klüber ISOFLEX NBU 15 (PI article number: K4920019)
Linear guide lubricant: Shell Alvania EP(LF) 2 grease
SW 5 and SW 2 hex keys
2Maintenance Cycles
2.1 Linear guide
Relubrication must take place every three months, but after 600 km at the latest.
The lubricant is applied to the linear guide with a grease gun using the grease nipples provided.
2.2 Drive screw
The drive screw requires relubrication ca. every two months based on the grease that seeps
from the wipers. (Under normal operating conditions, it is sufficient to relubricate every 200 to
300 operating hours.)
The lubricant is applied to the drive screw using a clean paintbrush or brush.
Lubricant is applied to the nut with a grease gun using the grease nipples provided.
3Relubrication
Making the Components Accessible for Lubrication
1. Move the slider to the end position towards the motor.
2. Disconnect all electrical connections so that the axis is voltage-free.
Do not change the position of the axis during cleaning. For example, if the axis is set up
vertically, the slider can move due to its intrinsic weight and cause injury.

3. Remove the slider:
a) Loosen the slider by unscrewing the 4 M6×16 socket head screws (SW 5 hex key):
b) Remove the slider and put it aside with the 4 screws.
4. Remove the cover:
c) Remove the 8 M3×5 mounting screws of the cover (SW 2 hex key):
d) Remove the cover plate and put it aside with the 8 screws.

5. Remove the 30 M3×5 mounting screws from the two side covers (SW 2 hex key) and
put the covers and the screws aside:
NOTE for variants with linear encoder:
Make sure that the tape measure (marked in the figure below) is not damaged!
Degreasing and Relubricating
1. Clean the guide rails and the drive screw using a lint-free cloth.
CAUTION: Risk of crushing!
2. Manually move the slider to the opposite end position.
3. Once again, clean the guide rails and the drive screw using a lint-free cloth.
CAUTION: Risk of crushing!
4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 (we recommend five times) to remove as much of the existing
lubricant as possible.

5. Use a grease gun to apply Shell Alvania EP(LF) 2 grease to the four guide carriages
(marked in the figure below):
6. Use a grease gun to apply Klüber ISOFLEX NBU 15 lubricant to the drive screw nut
(marked in the figure below):

7. Lubricate the drive screw (marked in the figure below):
e) Use a brush to apply Klüber ISOFLEX NBU 15 lubricant to the drive screw.
f) Manually move the slider back and forth three times across the entire travel range.
CAUTION: Risk of crushing!
8. If the guides or drive screw lack sufficient lubrication, repeat the corresponding steps
(5, 6, 7) until all components are lubricated sufficiently.
Reattach Removed Components
1. Reattach both side covers using the 30 M3×5 mounting screws (SW 2 hex key).

2. Reattach the cover using the 8 M3×5 mounting screws (SW 2 hex key):
3. Reattach the slider using the 4 M6×16 socket head screws (SW 5 hex key):
4. Reconnect the electrical connections.
