Preface
Thank you for using our switches. This guide provides you with detailed operation guide that allows you to easily install and use the
switches.
Scope
This manual describes the functions and physical features of the switches, and presents the installation procedure, troubleshooting
procedure, technical specifications, and specifications and usages rules of cables and connectors. It is intended for the users that
have some experience in installing and maintaining network hardware and want to learn the above information. At the same time, it is
assumed that the users of this switch are already familiar with the related terms and concepts of Ethernet.
Document Structure
Chapter 1 "Product Overview" describes the main characteristics, technical specifications, and related modules of this product.
Chapter 2 "Preparation Before Installation" lists the safety, power supply, and site requirements that must be met before the
switch can be installed.
Chapter 3 “Product Installation” describes how to install the integrated switch and modules, and connect its power cables and
grounding lines.
Chapter 4 "System Debugging" describes the debugging after the switch is powered on for the first time.
Chapter 5 "Troubleshooting" describes possible problems, detections and solutions in the switch installation and application.

Product Overview
The RG-S6200 series switches are the next-generation high-density full 10 G layer 3 IPv6 switches launched by Ruijie
Networks. They are mainly applicable to the data center and positioned at the End of Row (EoR), as well as at the Top of
Rack (ToR) to provide the convergence access for the servers and campus network with 10 G interfaces.

Product Appearance
The front panel of the RG-S6200 series provides thirty-two 10 G ports, one console port, one 10/100/1000Base-T
Ethernet port, and one USB2.0 port. The back panel provides two power slots and four fan slots. Figure 1-1 shows the
appearance with the M6200-16XS extension module.

Power Supply
Requirements of Power supply are as follows:
AC input.
Rated pressure range: 100 V to 240 V
Maximum pressure range: 90 V to 264 V

The RG-S6200 series supports the RG-M6200-AC650I-F power supply modules. The power supply modules
are hot-swappable.
Dual power supply input: the switch can use either one power supply or two power supplies. When both two power
supplies are working normally, the switch is in current-sharing mode.
Heat Dissipation
The RG-S6200 series supports the heat dissipation scheme which combines the front-to-back air passage with power
backward heat dissipation, thereby ensuring the device to function normally in the specified environment. Sufficient space
(20 cm distance from both sides and the back plane of the cabinet) should be reserved to allow air circulation. Figure 1-4
shows the flow scheme of heat dissipation.

Indicators
Indicator Definition Description
Solid green The system has completed the initialization and is working
normally.
Blinking green The switch is being initialized with 3 HZ blinking frequency.
Solid yellow The temperature (at the air intake and outlet) exceeds the
normal operating temperature of the system.
Solid red System fault (any fault).
The temperature of any local component of the machine
exceeds the maximum temperature allowed for a component.
Status Indicates working
status of the system
Off The system has no power supply.
Solid green The power supply is working normally.
Solid yellow The working environment temperature of the power supply
exceeds the normal temperature range.
The power supply is not matched.
Solid red Power supply fault (any fault).
