1. IDENTIFYING THE MACHINE
Data plate (Fig. 2) of the rake is mounted to the frame in the place shown in Fig. 1.

Data plate includes:
- name of the manufacturer, - weight,
- machine’s serial number, - quality management sign,
- machine’s type, - CE mark,
- date of manufacture, Directive 2006/42/EC and harmonized
- version number, standards,
- bar code, - MADE IN POLAND sign.
NOTE:
Should the contents of the herein manual be unclear, ask the manufacturer or
your dealer for more detailed information on the machine.
2. INTRODUCTION
 This operator's manual should be considered the rakes’ basic equipment. If the rake is handed
over to another user, it should be in working condition, and include this operator's manual, EC
declaration of conformity and its basic equipment.
 Prior to operating the rakes its user must familiarize himself with this manual as well as
common work safety rules.
 The rakes is manufactured in accordance with safety standards requirements.
 Respecting recommendations herein shall ensure use safety.
 If you have any questions concerning commission and operation of the rakes, please contact the
manufacturer.
 Operator's manual remains an integral part of the rakes equipment.
GENERAL PRECAUTION
When operating the rakes warnings and safety rules marked with this
sign herein should be respected.
NOTE:
Operating the rakes without previous familiarizing with its contents as well
as by unauthorized personnel, particularly by children, is strictly forbidden.

3. INTENDED USE
Comb side-delivery rake TWIST is designed for quick, efficient and clean raking of hay,
straw and green forage. It can be mounted either at tractor's front or rear. The rake can be used only
by persons familiarized with its technical characteristics, and aware of risks associated with its
operation and ways to avoid these.
NOTE:
Use of the rake for purposes other than mentioned herein is forbidden.
Improper use can be dangerous and may lead to voiding of the warranty. The
machine should be operated, maintained and repaired only by personnel who
are familiarized with its detailed specifications and safety rules and
procedures. Wilful modifications to the rake may lead to revoking of the
warranty.

Hitch (5) allows for connecting the rake to tractor's front 3-point linkage. Drive from the
tractor's hydraulics is transmitted onto working units (8and 14), with hydraulic motors (4) driving,
through plates (7), tine beams (1), with raking tines (2) mounted. Rotary speed of hydraulic motors
(4) is adjusted with rotation adjustment valve (11) and depends proportionally on the tractor's rpm.
Both working units (8and 14) are folded for transport with cylinders (10) and secured against
accidental unfolding with locking pawls (6). Working units are driven on driving wheels (9and 13)
with height adjustment. For storage the rake is provided with front support foot (3) and two rear
support feet (12).

3.3. Standard equipment and spare parts
Rakes are sold with the following standard equipment:
 warranty card,
 operator's manual with list of spare parts,
 front support foot,
 adjustable support wheels,
 spray paint (150 ml).
Optional extra equipment:
 rear hitch,
 lighting,
 curtain limiting hay ejection over the machine.
4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
4.1. General safety rules and regulations
 For suspension of the rake Twist by means of rear hitch, the tractor's front axis should be
sufficiently loaded to keep the right balance. If needed, use weights on front wheels.
 Operate the rake only if the cooperating tractor is well balanced.
 Any operation with hydraulic lift lever should be done from operator’s seat; do not move the
lever from outside of a tractor.
In case of tractors equipped with EHR, operating with hydraulic lift is done by the buttons
mounted outside the tractor’s cabin. When operating be extremely careful.
 Do not operate unless all safety guards are in place and operational.
 Before operating the machine, check whether all safety guards are fitted in place and fully
operational.
 No unauthorised person should stand within danger area which is a minimum of 50 m from any
operating part of the rake, especially when operating near roads and in areas with stones and
other debris.
 Maintenance and -adjustment works should only be done after the drive has been disconnected
and the moving parts have come to a complete standstill.
 Never stand between tractor and machine unless the aggregate is secured against moving by the
tractor’s brake.
 Any maintenance inspections and regulations may be done only when the machine is unfolded
and lowered onto the ground.
 Before any maintenance works set the machine on a stable ground and secure it against
unintentional moving.
 If any maintenance must be done under an elevated machine, it must be blocked or otherwise
secured against falling.
 When driving on public roads always respect the local traffic regulations on warning -lights, and
make sure the rake is equipped with required safety devices.
NOTE:
Any operations related to service and repair should be performed after
having first disconnected the tractor drive, and all rotating parts have come
to a complete standstill.
NOTE:
Be certain that children are at a safe distance away from the machine during
both the machine's operation and standstill.
 Periodically check bolts and other fasteners. Do not operate with damaged or worn fasteners.

 When operating the rake, please comply with the Resolution of the Minister of Agriculture and
Food Economy of 12.01.1998 on work safety when operating tractors, machines, technical
instruments and devices used in agriculture (Journal of Laws, No. 12/98 item 51.
 Never start the rake if it is lifted up.
 Never start the rake when persons or animals are present near the machine.
 Before starting the tractor, make sure that all drives are turned off.
 When operating the rake, the tractor should always be equipped with an operator's cabin.
 It is forbidden to operate the rake when driving backwards.
 Under any circumstances, do not get underneath the rake, neither transport any persons nor
objects on the machine.
 Respect safety labels regarding hazards, and warning signs placed on the machine.
 Never leave tractor’s engine running without supervision. Before you leave the tractor, turn off
the engine and remove the key from tractor’s ignition.
 In the event of any break in the equipment operation, turn the drive off. Shut down the tractor's
engine, take the ignition key off, leave the cabin and make sure there are no unauthorized
persons in the cabin and close the door.
 Do not leave farming machinery on slopes or other descents without having provided sufficient
protection against its free runaway.
 No person (except operator) should stand within danger area from any operating part, especially
when operating near roads and in areas with stones and other debris. Keep the safe distance.
 It is forbidden to leave the tractor's cabin when driving.
 Regularly check pressure in the machine wheels.
 When the parts of the machine need replacement, use only original spare parts as described in
the spare parts list.
 The machine should be stored under a roof and in a way as to not present any hazard both to
people and animals.
 Rotating spring tines and other rotary elements pose danger to health and life of persons
remaining within the machine's working range. Do not touch any moving parts of the machine.
 If the machine is stopped bear in mind that it is necessary to use supports to keep its stability.
 When cleaning the machine, for health protection use personal protective equipment.
 In the event of a serious fault, stop the machine's drive, turn off the tractor's engine and take out
the ignition key. Then call for technical service, and if an accident (in this case: road accident)
occurs, follow first aid rules and contact relevant authorities.
4.2. Qualifications of operator
To provide safe machine operation each person being the machine operator must meet the
following requirements:
 Operator should hold driving license, have ability to drive vehicles safely and know road traffic
rules.
 Operator must be in proper physical condition to be able to operate the machine.
 Operator must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs and medicines, which all have
influence on vehicle driving and machine operation.
 Operator should be familiarized with this manual and follow its provisions.
 Operator should be familiar with working principles of both the tractor and the machine, and be
able to recognize and avoid hazards resulting from operation of the aggregate.
4.3. Conditions of mounting machine on tractor
 Before attaching, check whether hitch categories of the tractor and the attached rake are
compatible, and make sure that load capacity of the tractor's hitch is not lower than weight of
the attached machine.
 When attaching the machine examine the technical condition of hitch assembly on both the rake
and the tractor's 3-point linkage.
 To mount the rake to the tractor use original pins and protection only.

4.4. Transport
 Any modifications in the rake's position are possible only if no unauthorized personnel is
around (children in particular).
 For transport place a warning plate for a slow driving vehicle on the rake. See Fig. 10.
 When being transported make sure that the rake is always set in transport position. See item 5.2.
 Before moving the tractor-mounted machine to transport position make sure that the tractor's
drive is disconnected and all the rotating parts has come to complete standstill.
 Do not drive over 25 km/h (15 mph).
 Drive slower if road conditions are poor, especially on irregular surfaces or steep slopes.
 Before transporting the machine make sure that locking catches are engaged properly in
transport position.
4.4.1 Putting machines onto another vehicle for transport
Both the carrier and the driver shall be responsible for the rake's transport safety. Any
equipment and parts must be secured for transport.
In order to safely move the rake onto another vehicle, please follow these rules:
 Grab the machine by any lifting devices only in places indicated by hook sign.
 To lift the rake, use only lifting devices with hoisting capacity bigger than the rake's weight
provided on data plate. This also applies to ropes and chains used for lifting.
 Transport belts, belt suspensions, ropes cannot be damaged. Whenever damages to these parts
are found replace them.
 When mounting slings, chains, handles etc., always set the machine's centre of gravity properly
(Fig. 4).
 To safely support the machine, use ropes of adequate length so that the angle between them is
no greater than 120°, and the angle between the strand and the vertical is no greater than 60°.
 Collapsible parts should be blocked in transport position.
 When moving the rake onto another vehicle, there should be no unauthorised personnel
permitted to remain within the danger area.
 The rake should be protected from shifting on the vehicle's trailer.

To reduce a space occupied during transportation on a TIR vehicle, the comb-side delivery
rake TWIST 600 can be transported in a flat position (Fig. 5) having put wooden blocks Dunder its
frame.

4.5. Working parts
 Before operating the rake check condition of both the rotor and raking tines.
 Worn or damaged tines should be replaced immediately with new ones.
4.6. Hydraulic assembly
 Caution! Hydraulic assembly is under high pressure! Hydraulic oil under pressure may
penetrate skin and cause serious injury or death. Skin and eyes should be protected when
working around this assembly. In case of injury caused by a liquid under pressure, call a doctor
immediately.
 Hydraulic hoses can be connected to the tractor's hydraulics provided that both the tractor’s and
the rake's hydraulic assemblies are not under pressure. To remove the pressure from the hoses,
start the tractor's hydraulic valves several times with the tractor off.
 While detaching the machine from the tractor, set the equipment aggregated aside, decompress
the hydraulic assembly and turn the tractor's engine off.
 When looking for oil leaks, do so safely. Use a cardboard card. Do not touch any potential leaks
until the entire hydraulic assembly has been relieved of pressure.
 Note! Use only hydraulic oil featuring oil purity class 9 - 10 in accordance with NAS 1638.
