04 1. Preparation.
1.1 Delivery
On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults
and check it for any transport damage. Inspect the goods in the presence
of your forwarder Should transport damage have occurred, please arrange
for an inventory (determination of the faults) to be made in the presence of
the forwarder. Please send a complaint in writing to the specialist dealer
responsible.
1.2 Safety measures prior to use
Die korrekte Benutzung des Untergestells erfordert eine genaue und sorg-
fältige Einweisung der Begleitperson. Wir möchten Sie bitten, vor der ersten
Inbetriebnahme des Untergestellts, die Gebrauchsanleitung aufmerksam
durchzulesen und zu beachten.
1.3 Safe disposal
In order to preserve and protect the environment, to prevent environmental
pollution, and to improve the recycling of raw materials, please note the
disposal instructions in points 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
1.3.1 Packaging
The product packaging should be stored in case the product needs to be
transported again. Should you have to return the product for repairs or in
case of a guarantee claim, please if possible use the original box so that
the product is optimally packaged. Separate the packaging materials for
recycling according to their classification. Do not leave packaging materials
unattended, as they are a possible source of danger.

Separate the raw materials used in the product for recycling according to
their classification (see material information under 2.1)
1.4 Where to store the Instructions for use
Please store these Instructions for use carefully and ensure that these
Instructions for use remain with the product in case of re-use.

2.1 Material information
The sub-frames are made of steel which is non-corroding and
powder-coated.
2.2 Handling / transport
The sub-frame is not designed to be carried, as it is fitted with castors.
Should you have to carry the equipment due to obstacles, ensure that all
moving parts are tightened. Then position yourself next to the sub-frame,
grip it on both sides under the support head and carry it to the required
location. To transport the sub-frame, reduce all adjustments to their most
compact size (fold up foot bench, set lowest seat height etc.)
Tighten all moving parts prior to carrying!
2.3 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
fridolin 1. & fridolin 2. are designed as a sub-structure for carrying seat
pan systems and seat pans for children who cannot walk or who have
diculty walking.
2.4 Use not in accordance with the intended
purpose / warning guidelines
• Ensurethatthesub-frameincombinationwithaseatpanisonlyused
by one child/teenager.
• Neverleavethechildunattended.
• Donotusesub-frameincombinationwithaseatpanforthe
transportation of a person.
• Correctusageofthesub-framerequirespreciseandcarefultrainingof
the accompanying person.

• Donotusetherespectivesub-frameifithasdefective,wornormissing
parts.
• OnlyuseaccessoriesandsparepartsmadebySchuchmann,otherwise
you will endanger the child.
• Onlyusethesub-frameifallcomponentshavebeencorrectlymounted
and adjusted.
• PleasereadouttheInstructionsforuseforuserssueringfromavisual
or reading impairment, so that they can use the sub-frame safely.

important components as well as the terms which you will find in these
Instructions for use.

2. Product description.
Settings and adjustments to the product or accessories may only be made
by people who have been given the necessary instructions by a medical
product advisor. Please ensure that none of the user‘s extremities are in the
respective area when making adjustments of any kind to minimise the risk
of injury.
3.1 Locking / unlocking the castors
The sub-frame should always be pre-
vented from rolling away inadvertently
by locking the 2 rear castors (A).

3.2 Seat height
fridolin 1.: To adjust the seatr height,
loosen the clamps (B) on the uprights
and bring the seat pan into the re-
quired position. The height of the gas
pressure spring must then be adjusted.
To do this, loosen the two screws (C) in
the centre between the two uprights
and adjust the gas pressure spring to
the required height. Firmly tighten all
screws again. If the seat height is ad-
justed in height over 5 cm, the moun-
ting plate for the gas pressure spring
must be turned. To do this, remove and
install the screws (C) in the centre bet-
ween the two uprights and the screw
connection for the gas pressure spring
(D). Firmly tighten all screws.
fridolin 2.: The sub-frame can be lowered via the gas pressure spring with
the aid of the height ajustment to low
table heights. To do this, the foot pedal
(E) on the right-hand side of the base
frame is operated (in driving direction)
and the seat pan slides down; assist
movement through the application of
slight pressure from above if required.
To move the seat pan upwards, press
the foot pedal again and assist mo-
vement through application of slight pressure upwards if necessary. The foot
pedal can be secured against inadvertent operation with a lock located on
the inside of the foot pedal. To do this, pull on the knurled knob (F), turn it to
the right as far as it will go and then release it again. Now the foot pedal is
secured against inadvertent operation. The locking mechanism is released
by pulling on the knurled knob (F) again and turning it to the right.
For safety reasons, the adjustment may only take place when no-one is on
the product!

3.3 Seat angle adjustment
In order to adjust the angle of the seat unit,
the hand trigger (A) at the rear below the seat
pan support must be actuated (by pulling it).
To do this, the rear part of the lever must be
pressed into the key lock. This deactivates the
child lock. The seat unit can now be adjusted
in an active or passive position.
It is possible if required to mount the release
lever (B) for the seat angle adjustment on the
push bar / handle or on the back of the seat
pan if used later.
When adjusting the seat angle, always
secure the seat pan with one hand!
3.4 Adaptation of seat pans
fridolin 1. & fridolin 2. are prepared to carry
a seat unit / seat pan. The seat adapter
represents the connection point.
Seat pan adapter, standard:
Insertion of the seat adapter into the
seat pan support:
1. Insert the adapter into the rear tube
of the seat pan support.
2.Fold the adapter down to the front
tube. The lock will engage
automatically. Now tighten the
knurled knob (C) of the patented
closure.
3.When removing the seat pan, first
untwist the knurled screw on the adapter, and then pull on the knob to
release the connection between the adapter and the seat pan support.
Tilt the pan slightly and remove it.
Ensure that the patented closure is correctly engaged and that the knurled
knob is rmly tightened so that it can no longer be pulled!

Seat pan adapter, trapezoidal shape:
Place the seat pan with the trapezoidal
shaped mounted adapter piece on the
trapezoidal shaped seat pan adapter
plate and push back. Here the paten-
ted closure engages automatically.
Now tighten the knurled knob (A) of the
patented closure. When removing the
seat pan, first untwist the knurled knob
(A), and then pull it down to release the
connection between the adapter and
the seat pan support. The pan can now
be pulled away to the front.
Ensure that the patented closure is
correctly engaged and that the knurled knob is rmly tightened so that it
can no longer be pulled!
3.5 Zentrale Feststellbremse
Einen sicheren Schutz gegen Wegrollen
bietet die Feststellbremse, die vom Nut-
zer selbst bedient werden kann. Dazu
muss der Hebel (B) der Feststellbremse
von unten nach oben betätigt werden.
Wenn die Bremse gelöst ist, steht sie
nach unten. Die Bremse ist angezogen,
wenn der Hebel (B) nach oben steht.
3.6 Fußbank
Für fridolin 1. & fridolin 2. gibt es
verschiedene Fußbankvarianten die
am Aufnahmekopf befestigt werden.
Nachdem die jeweilige Fußbank in den
Aufnahmekopf (C) gesteckt und in der
Tiefe eingestellt wurde, kann der Knie-
winkel mit Hilfe der beiden Klemmhebel
(D) verstellt werden.

3.7 Push bar handling
The push bar makes it easier to reloca-
te the room frame, and can be adjus-
ted in depth and angle. The angle is
adjusted by releasing the quickrelease
clamp (A) on both sides. Then bring the
push bar into the correct position and
tighten the quick-release clamp (A)
again. The depth is adjusted by loo-
sening the grub screws (B) on the right
and left-hand side below the adapter.
The release lever (C) for the seat ang-
le adjustment can also be mounted on
the push bar / handle or on the back of the seat pan if used later.
3.8 Handling push handle
The push handle makes it easier to re-
locate the room frame, and can be ad-
justed in height and angle. The angle
can be adjusted by releasing the lever
(D). Adjust the required angle position
and tighten the lever again. The height
adjustment is conducted via the lever
(E): release it, adjust to the correct po-
sition and then tighten the lever firmly
again.
Only use the push handle to push the sub-frame! Do not hang objects
onto the push handle! Increased risk of tipping!
3.9 Wheel base extension
The wheel base extension is used to
keep the product steady, in particular
with larger seat pans and seat angles
tilted far to the rear. The wheel base
extension (10 cm) is fixed, and cannot
be adjusted.

12 4. Repairs and cleaning.
4.1 Cleaning
Please clean all frame elements with a sponge or damp cloth. Please cle-
an with a mild household detergent for severer dirt. It is important to tho-
roughly dry the seat pan sub-frame after cleaning. Please also pay at-
tention to our general cleaning and hygiene advice. You can find them at
www.schuchmann.de/fridolin.
4.2 Repairs
Please carry out a daily visual inspection and check the sub-frame regularly
for cracks, breaks, missing parts and malfunctions. In case of a defect or
malfunction, please contact the specialist dealer who supplied you with the
product (see 7. 5 ).
4.3 Spare parts
Should you wish to order spare parts, please contact the specialist dealer
who supplied you with the product, stating the serial number of the respec-
tive sub-frame (see 7. 5 ). Necessary spare parts and accessories must only be
installed by trained personnel.
4.4 Duration of use and re-use
The expected duration of use of our product, dependent on the usage in-
tensity and amount of re-use, totals up to „8“ years, providing the usage
takes place in accordance with the information in these Instructions for use.
It may be possible to use the product over and above this time period if it
is in a safe condition. The expected duration of use does not refer to wear
parts, such as for example covers, wheels, batteries..... The maintenance and
evaluation of the condition, and if applicable the potential for re-use, must
be decided by the specialist trader. The sub-frame is suitable for re-use. Pri-
or to forwarding on, please follow the cleaning and disinfection instructions
in Chapter 4. Accompanying documents such as these instructions for use
are part of the product, and must be transferred to the new user. Accompa-

re-use. In the case of storage, it is recommended to fold the product to the
smallest dimension to save space.

6. Guarantee.
The two-year statutory guarantee period shall apply for all products. This
guarantee period shall begin with the delivery or handover of the goods.
Should a verifiable material or manufacturing fault occur within this time pe-
riod, we shall, after carriage paid return to us, view the indicated damage
and, if applicable, either repair or deliver a new product at our discretion.
