1. Preparation of the subframe for use
1.1 Transport
On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults and check
it for any transport damage.
Inspect the goods in the presence of your forwarder
Should transport damage have occurred, please cause an inventory (determination
of the faults) to be made in the presence of the forwarder. Please send a complaint
in writing to the specialist dealer responsible.
1.2 Safety measures prior to use
Correct use of the subframe requires precise and careful training of the accompa-
nying person. We ask you to read through the Instructions for use carefully prior to
initial commissioning of the subframe, and to observe them.
1.3 Safe disposal of the packaging material
The product packaging should be stored in case the product needs to be transpor-
ted again. Should you have to return the product for repairs or in case of a gua-
rantee claim, please if possible use the original box so that the product is optimally
packaged.
Otherwise, please assist in disposing of the packaging material professionally in or-
der to promote the recycling of resources. For this reason, separate the packaging
materials for recycling according to their classication.
Do not leave packaging materials unattended, as they are a possible source of
danger.

2. Product description
2.1 Material information
The subframe is made of steel which is non-corroding and powder-coated.
2.2 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
FRIDOLIN Maxi (for indoor use) has been designed as a subframe on which to
hold seat pan systems and seat pans. Fridolin Maxi can be used for children and
teenagers. The max. load should not exceed 100 kg including the seat pan.
CAUTION!
2.3 Use not in accordance with the intended purpose / warning guidelines
• Ensure that the subframe in combination with a seat pan is only used by
one child/teenager.
• Never leave the child unattended.
• Do not use the subframe in combination with a seat pan for the transportation of
a person.
• Correct usage of the subframe requires precise and careful training of the
accompanying person.
• The max. load (see Point 6) may not be exceeded.
• Do not use the subframe if it has defective, worn or missing parts.
• Only use accessories and spare parts made by Schuchmann, otherwise you
will endanger the child.
• Only use the subframe if all components have been correctly mounted and
adjusted.

2.4 Equipment for basic model
• The seat height is adjustable using a crank, and the angular adjustment of the
seat unit can be operated through two gas pressure springs à 200N via a foot
pedal.
• Inc. 4 dual castors (100 mm), 2 of these with locking devices
• Inc. positioner head and foot bench plug-in mechanism

2.6 Product overview

3. Settings
3.2 Seat angle
The seat angle can be adjusted with the aid of 2
gas pressure springs (à 200N) from (-)5° to 30°.
To do this, actuate the foot pedal (C) and move
the seat unit to the required angle.

3.3 Dual castors
The subframe should always be prevented from
rolling away inadvertently through braking of the
2 rear dual castors. To do this, press the brake
(D) down with the tip of your foot.

The brake serves merely to prevent inadvertent rolling away on level
surfaces.
3.1 Seat height
The subframe can be adjusted by up to 12 cm
in height; the product is supplied adjusted to the
lowest setting.
Adjustment is carried out by actuating the crank
(A) below the base frame. In addition, both gas
pressure springs on the seat angle adjustment
must be readjusted in height. This is carried out
by dismantling the
screw connections at the bottom ends of the two
gas pressure springs and shifting them in the
hole pattern of the lugs (B) on the base frame.
This adjustment should be undertaken by your
specialist dealer.

After each adjustment, please retighten the screw connections!
4. Accessories
4.1 Maxi push handle
The Maxi push handle can be adjusted in height
and angle. In order to adjust the height, loosen
both clamping levers (E), bring the Maxi push
handle into the required position and pull the
clamping lever tight once more.

In order to adjust the angle, please loosen the two
clamping levers (F), move the Maxi push handle
to the required angle and pull the clamping lever
tight once more.

4.2 Foot bench
There are different foot bench variants available
for the FRIDOLIN Maxi, which are xed to the po-
sitioner head.
After the respective foot bench has been plugged
into the positioner head (G) and after the depth
has been adjusted, the knee angle can be deter-
mined with the aid of the two clamping levers (H).
The lower leg length can be individually adapted,
and the foot benches can be folded up and the
angle adjusted depending on the variant.

4.3 Plug-in footrest
The simple plug-in footrest permits easy transfer
within facilities.
To mount the footrest, rst plug the rear positio-
ner (l) into the base frame and fold it downwards.
Ensure that the snap locks (J) engage correctly.
In order to remove the footrest, pull out the two
snap locks (J) and lift up the footrest.

5. Repairs and cleaning
5.1 Cleaning
Please clean all frame elements with a sponge or damp cloth.
5.3 Spare parts
Should you wish to order spare parts, please contact the specialist dealer who
supplied you with the product, stating the serial number of the subframe (see 8.5).
5.2 Repairs
Please carry out a daily visual inspection and check the subframe regularly for
cracks, breaks, missing parts and malfunctions. In case of a defect or malfunction,
please contact the specialist dealer who supplied you with the product (see 8.5).

7. Guarantee
The two-year statutory guarantee period shall apply for all products. This guarantee
period shall begin with the delivery or handover of the goods. Should a veriable
material or manufacturing fault occur within this time period, we shall, after carriage
paid return to us, view the indicated damage and, if applicable, either repair or de-
liver a new product at our discretion.
