HITCH BIKE RACK
Introduction
Carefully follow the instructions for installing
the hitch bike rack.
Check the towbar tongue weight in your
Owner's Manual. If a lower weight is specified
than the maximum load given for the hitch
bike rack, the lower weight limit applies.
NOTE
Read the enclosed safety instructions.

Preparations
Towbar assembly

The distance between the opening of the
towbar assembly and the hole in the side must
be at least 1.5” (3.8 cm).
Key number
Please write down your key number in the
squares above. If the key is lost, a new one can
be ordered.
To remember
Always comply with speed limits and traffic
regulations. Your speed must always be within
the safety margin dictated by road and traffic
conditions in relation to load weight, but must
never exceed 80 mph (130 km/h).
Tighten the hitch bike rack bracket after the
vehicle has driven 200 miles (321 km).
IMPORTANT
Drive carefully over speed bumps.
NOTE
Remember to be extra cautious if the
vehicle is equipped with an automatically
opening tailgate. The system could be
inadvertently activated in a car wash or
similar if the remote key is within range.
Never install the hitch bike rack on a camper
trailer or similar pulled behind the vehicle.
However, the hitch bike rack may be installed
on an RV or other motorized camper.
Only use the rack to transport regular bicycles,
never tandem or recumbent bicycles. Also
keep in mind that the bicycle(s) should not be
much wider than the vehicle.

Installation
You will need:

Put the lock cylinder into the handle and lock it
into place using the key.
NOTE
Do not remove the tape until assembly is
complete.

1. Tighten the screws.
2. Insert the lock striker into the hole.

Use the key to unlock the handle.
Insert the lock striker into the hole on the
towbar assembly.
Press in the lock striker until you hear a click.
Tighten the handle firmly.
Lock using the key.

You will need:

Remove the tape before installation.
Use both tools at the same time to securely
tighten the nuts.
Try moving the hitch bike rack to make sure
that it is firmly attached.

If the hitch bike rack can be moved, tighten
the nuts using the tools.
Use
The catch must be lifted in order to fold the
hitch bike rack up and down.
For proper mounting, position the bicycle as
shown in the above illustration.
NOTE
Make sure that the bicycle's wheels do
not hang in front of the exhaust pipe or
otherwise come into contact with exhaust
fumes.
You will need:

Position the bicycle in the rack.
Secure the frame using the longer rubber
straps as shown below.

Use one of the shorter rubber straps to further
secure the frame.
