About this Manual 4
1. About this Manual
All users and owners of the Industrial door must read, understand and obey the information and instructions in
this manual. Failure to do so may result in damage to, or failure of the equipment, and possible injury to persons.
This manual contains functional descriptions and installation information for a Industrial door. When information or
instructions are applicable to all the methods of operation or models, there are no operation types or model numbers in the
title. When information or instructions are applicable to specific methods of operation or models, the applicable operation
type or model numbers appear in the title.

2. MCS-R control unit
2.1 Installation
1) At the rear of the control unit you have to assemble 4 enclosure brackets before mounting it to the wall. Use the four small
5x12 screws.
2) Mount the Control unit approx. 1.7m above the floor (measured from the upper side of the box).
3) Connect the cables from the door leaf and the drive unit, according to the instructions by the wiring diagram.
The control unit is now assembled and ready to be functionally installed. See paragraph "Programming" concerning the
programming procedure.

2.2 Technical data

2.3 MCS-R menu overview

2.3.1 Access the Menu
1) Press and hold the push-button STOP for 6 seconds to activate the keypad and to access the menu.
2) Enter the access code*.
You now have access to the menu.The display will show plain text commands, messages, and error messages. The keypad is
used to navigate trough the menu, to confirm and to save.
* Standard access code is "00000".

2.4 Programming
Before programming the control unit:
Place the door 1.5m above the floor.
Ensure that the floor is clean and free from cables etc.
Programming can only be carried out using the set of buttons in the control box, not an external push button box or
radio control. For doors with small drums and without safety features, there may be a risk of the wire unwinding. Check
therefore that the wire is located correctly on the drum.
From the main menu it is possible to select the following menu items by pressing the or buttons:
1) "Language"
2) "Motor setup"
3) "Adjust end position"
4) "Safety devices"
5) "Operating mode"
6) "Code entry"
7) "Special setup"
8) "Service"
Press the button to enter the selected menu.
2.4.1 Changing the language
The standard language is set to "English". The other languages you can choose from are: Dutch, German, Italian, French,
Spanish, Swedish, Polish, Romanian and Hungarian.
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Language" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Use the or buttons to select your desired language.
4) Press to confirm and save.
5) Press to return to the main menu.
6) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.

2.4.2 Motor setup
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Motor setup" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Use the or buttons to select one of the following menu items:
1) "Motor direction"
2) "Motor controller"
3) "Limit switch type"
1) To change the motor direction to "Left" or "Right" navigate to the "Motor direction" menu item and press to enter the
menu item.
1) Use the or button to change the direction of the rotation. Press twice to confirm.
2) To set the motor controller navigate to the "Motor controller" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
1) Use the or buttons to choose "Contactor relay". Press twice to confirm.
3) To select the Limit switch type navigate to the "Limit switch type" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
1) Use the or buttons to choose "MECH. LIMIT SWIT". Press twice to confirm.
4) Press to return to the main menu.
5) Press once more to enter the maneuvering mode.
2.4.3 Operating mode
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Operating mode" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Select:
1) "Automatic ↑/↓" as the 430P function.
2) "AUTOM. ↑/DEADM. ↓" as the 420 function.
3) "DEADMAN ↑/↓" as the 410 function.
4) Press to confirm and save the operating mode.
5) Press to return to the main menu.
6) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.
End position adjustment has to be done manually in the CDM5/6 machinery.

2.4.4 Code entry
Factory setting code is "00000". If a new code is set, it is impossible to enter the programming mode again unless the
correct code is used. Keep the new code in a safe place.
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Code entry" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Enter your new access code
4) Press to confirm your new access code or press or or or to discard your changes.
5) Press to return to the main menu.
6) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.
2.4.5 CDM5 or CDM6
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the "CDM6" menu.
2) In the "CDM6" menu you are able to choose between "Active" and "Inactive".
3) Choose active and confirm your selection by pressing the button twice.
4) Press to return to the main menu.
5) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.

2.4.6 Safety devices
This function is not used together with the "dead man down"-function.
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Safety rail" menu. Press to enter the menu.
2) Use the or buttons to adjust one of the following parameters.
1) "4-W Photoc. KL5"
2) "2-W Photoc. KL6"
3) "OSE 1 setup KL3"
4) "OSE 2 setup KL4"
5) "Safety 1 KL2 1-2" (Switch rail 1)
6) "Safety 2 KL2 3-4" (Switch rail 2)
7) "Release delay"
8) "Fine pitch"
3) For the CDM5/CDM6 setup go to
a) SWITCH RAIL 1 and choose "AIR WAVE SWITCH". Press to confirm.
b) In addition select the option "Down full reverse" (to the upper end position). Press to confirm.
4) Press to return to the main menu.
5) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.

2.4.7 Service
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Service" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Use the or buttons to select one of the following menu items:
1) "Cycles"
2) "Software version"
3) "Set time"
4) "Maintenance complete"
5) "Maintenance intervals"
6) "Clear errors"
7) "Event history"
8) "Clear event history"
9) "Factory reset"
1) To view the number of door cycles navigate to the "Cycles" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
2) To view the current software version navigate to the "Software version" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
3) To change the current date and time navigate to the "Set time" menu item and change the date and time using the ,
, or button.
4) To complete the maintenance, navigate to the menu “Maintenance complete” and press to confirm and enter the
menu item. Press again to confirm.
The service intervals are now restored to its pre-settings
5) To adjust the number of door cycles or the number of days to indicate when service is needed navigate to the
"Maintenance intervals" menu item.
1) To adjust the number of door cycles (between 11 and 999.999 cycles) go to the "Limit door cycles" menu item and
press to enter the menu item. Use the and button to adjust the number of door cycles. The default
setting is 25.000 cycles.
2) To adjust the number of days (between 11 and 999.999 days) go to the "Limit days" menu item and press to
enter the menu item. Use the and button to adjust the number of days. The default setting is 365 days.
3) The display will show "Maintenance interval reached" when the door is closed and one or both of the set intervals are
reached.
6) To reset the errors shown navigate to the "Clear errors" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
1) When the display shows "Clear all errors" press to confirm.

7) To view the event and error history navigate to the "Event history" menu item and press to enter the menu item. Use
the and button to navigate trough the history.
8) To clear the event history navigate to the "Clear event history" menu item and press to enter the menu item.
1) When the display shows "Clear all errors" press to confirm.
9) To reset the control unit back to the factory settings navigate to the "Factory" reset menu item and press to confirm
and enter the menu item.
1) When the display shows "Erase setting" press to confirm.
10) Press to return to the main menu.
11) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.
2.4.8 Special setup
1) Use the or buttons to navigate to the "Special setup" menu.
2) Press to enter the menu.
3) Use the or buttons to select one of the following menu items:
1) "Auto close"
2) "Door control mode"
3) "External buttons"
2.4.8.1 Auto close
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the "Auto close" menu.
2) In the "Auto close" menu you are able to choose between "Enable" and "Disable".
3) If the auto closing is enabled you can adjust the following options:
1) Set "Close delay" timer between 0 and 999 seconds. This is the time, the door waits in open position before it closes
automatically.
2) Enable or disable the "Trig auto close. Choose the photocell option as the auto close trigger. This results in the closing
of the door automatically after passage of a photocell.
4) To enable the pre-light for the auto close function go to the menu item "Relay" in the "Special setup" menu. Choose the
number of the relay you want to adjust (Relay 1). Choose "Autoclose light" and choose the time (between 0 and 32
seconds).
5) To confirm your selection press the button twice.
6) Press to return to the main menu.
7) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.

2.4.8.2 Photocell function
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the "Safety device" menu.
2) Use the or buttons to select the 4-wire photocell function.
1) Select "Untested".
2) To select the door behaviour choose: "Down full reverse"
3) To confirm your selection press the button twice.
4) Press to return to the main menu.
5) Press once more to enter the manoeuvring mode.
The above setup is identical for the Photocell and Magnetic loop function.
If both Photocells and the Magnetic Loop exists, they must be connected in serial with each other to function properly.
2.4.8.3 Warning light function
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the "Relay" menu. Press to enter the menu.
2) Use the or to select the "Relays" you want to adjust (relay R1, R2, R3). Press to enter the menu item.
3) In the "Relay type" menu item you can select and adjust the following parameters:
1) Inactive.
2) End position.
3) Movement
In the sub-menu you can set the warning light options.
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or to navigate to the "R1 Movement" menu.
2) Choose "R1 type movement"
3) Select the “R1 Pre-run”. You are now able to set the lights pre-flash time between 0 and 15 sec. before door
movement.
4) Select the “R1 Mode”. You are able to choose between permanent or flashing (blinking) light.
5) Select in which door direction (non, up, down, both) you want to have flashing or permanent light.
6) Select the warning light options for the door in STOP position (permanent, flashing, off)

7) Auto close
4) Press to confirm and save adjusted parameter data.
5) Press to return to the main menu.
6) Press once more to enter the maneuvering mode.

2.4.8.4 Door control mode
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the " Door control mode" menu.
2) In the "Door control mode" menu you are able to choose between "Sectional door" (default) or "High speed door."
3) For the MCS-R choose "Sectional door".
4) Confirm your selection by pressing the button twice.
5) Press to return to the main menu.
6) Press once more to enter the maneuvering mode.
2.4.8.5 External buttons
1) In the "Special setup" menu use the or button to navigate to the " External buttons" menu.
2) In the "External buttons" menu you are able to set the external pushbuttons "In deadman mode" also, if the control unit
indicates it. The default setting is “Not active” and the external buttons are disconnected if deadmans mode occurs.
3) Confirm your selection by pressing the button twice.
4) Press to return to the main menu.
5) Press once more to enter the maneuvering mode.
