How to use the Entry Panel
1. Press the call button on the entry panel. - The entry panel will conrm that the call
is being made by saying: “Please wait while your call is connected”
(unless this feature has been disabled).
2. The 1st telephone number assigned to that call button will then be dialled,
followed by the 2nd telephone number in the event that the 1st is not answered
within the allocated timed period. (Requires successive call forwarding numbers
to be programmed to that call button.) Up to 7 call forwarding numbers can be
programmed into the panel. In the event that an answer phone facility needs to
be active on any of the called telephones, please ensure that the calling time on
the entry panel for that number is set for a duration shorter than the time taken
for the answer phone to activate, otherwise the call forwarding will stop once the
answer phone picks up the call from the entry panel. The calling time period can
be set between 10 seconds and 240 seconds.
3. Once the call is answered, full communication between the Entry Panel and
the telephone receiver commences for a maximum timed period of up to one
minute (talk time). This time period is not adjustable.
4. To activate the timed door release relay 1 during communication with the Entry
Panel the user must enter ‘1’ then ‘#’ or simply ‘#’ on it’s own. The relay release
time can be set between 1 second and 256 seconds.
5. To activate the timed door release relay 2 during communication with the Entry
Panel the user must enter ‘2’ then ‘#’. The relay release time can be set between
1 second and 256 seconds.
6. Once the conversation is terminated, the Entry Panel is then ready for the next
call to be made.
7. A user can also dial into the Entry Panel (via its telephone number)
to open communication and activate the release relays.

Connections Overview Setup checklist for the Entry Panel
Please ensure the following for the installation:
1. For landline (PSTN) versions, a dedicated analogue PSTN (standard) line without
broadband is required for the entry panel. Ensure dial tone is present and that the
line is functional. Call Party Answer (CPA) must be enabled on the line and DTMF is
also a strict requirement.
2. For GSM versions a suitable service provider must be chosen (one with good quality
service coverage) for the location of the installation! – It would be wise to conduct
a pre-installation site-survey to select an appropriate network by using a GSM radio
analyser signal strength meter. Networks MUST be chosen by quality of service,
(Received Signal Strength Indication – RSSI and Bit Error Rate – BER) otherwise the
panel cannot function as intended. All signal tests must be carried out at the physical
location of the GSM entry panel using the antenna best suited for the panel in its
mounting position. The GSM antenna supplied by bpt might not always be the most
suitable antenna for the given installation site and hence installers must be prepared
to provide their own, in some instances a high gain GSM antenna may be required.
Any 3rd party GSM antennas must have a Male SMA connector tted for termination
to the panel.
3. A suitable GSM SIM card needs to be provided which must rst be registered to
the network (as per standard service provider requirements), have calling credit
available and its number known. A Pay-As-You-Go or Contract SIM can be used.
4. There needs to be a 230V AC mains supply nearby the entry panel location to
connect the Power Supply Unit provided by bpt UK.
5. The correct 12V DC, 1A regulated PSU which is provided MUST be installed to power
the panel and should not be used to power anything else other than the Entry Panel.
6. A suitable installation location for the GSM antenna must be provided.
7. Silicon sealant should be used in the relevant locations to prevent water ingress into
the entry panel. I.e. around the cable entry holes and the back-box. It should also
be applied on the back of the faceplate along the top and down the sides but not
along the bottom, in one continuous run. (Forming an inverted U) –
Failure to do so WILL void the warranty
8. Do not attempt to connect or disconnect any part of the entry panel
(including the GSM SIM) whilst power is applied to the Entry Panel,
otherwise the unit may be damaged.
