Function and application
The STAF-... stopper cylinder is a
single-acting cylinder with spring return.
If you unscrew the filter nipple from the
compressed air connection (ª) and use
both connections (©) and (ª), the stop-
per cylinder can also be used as a dou-
ble-acting cylinder. This is useful if hig-
her speeds are required when the cylin-
der moves out.
The STAF-... stopper cylinder is de-
signed to be used as an insertable fixed
stop, in order to achieve defined stop-
ping positions with moving loads (e.g. in
assembly or sorting systems).
The STAF-...-P-A-R stopper cylinder
with roller enables a prematurely exten-
ded piston rod to roll along the moving
load.
Funktion und Anwendung
Der Stopperzylinder STAF-... ist ein ein-
fachwirkender Zylinder mit Federrück-
stellung.
Durch Ausschrauben des Filternippels
aus Druckluftanschluß (ª) und Verwen-
dung beider Anschlüsse (©) und (ª)
kann der Stopperzylinder auch doppelt-
wirkend eingesetzt werden. Dies ist
sinnvoll, wenn höhere Ausfahrgeschwin-
digkeiten erreicht werden müssen.
Der Stopperzylinder STAF-... wird be-
stimmungsgemäß als einfahrbarer
Festanschlag eingesetzt, um bei beweg-
tem Fördergut definierte Haltepositionen
zu erreichen (z.B. bei Bestückungsanla-
gen oder Sortieranlagen).
Der Stopperzylinder STAF-...-P-A-R mit
Rollenausführung ermöglicht ein Abrol-
len entlang des Förderguts bei frühzeitig
ausgefahrener Kolbenstange.

Safety conditions
These general conditions for the correct
and safe use of the product must be ob-
served at all times.
•Compare the specified limit values
with your actual application.
The permitted limit values, e.g. for
pressures and moments must not be
exceeded.
•Ensure that there is a supply of cor-
rectly prepared lubricated com-
pressed air.
•Comply withnational and local safety
laws and regulations.
Voraussetzungen für den
Produkteinsatz
Allgemeine, stets zu beachtende Hin-
weise für den ordnungsgemäßen und si-
cheren Einsatz des Produkts:
•Vergleichen Sie die angegebenen
Grenzwerte mit Ihrem aktuellen Ein-
satzfall.
Die zulässigen Grenzwerte, z.B. für
Drücke, Temperaturen und Momente
dürfen nicht überschritten werden.
•Sorgen Sie für ordnungsgemäß auf-
bereitete Druckluft.
•Beachten Sie die Vorschriften der
Berufsgenossenschaft, des Techni-
schen Überwachungsvereins oder
entsprechende nationale Bestimmun-
gen.

•Remove all packaging such as pro-
tective wax, foils, cartons and caps
(except the sealing elements of the
pneumatic connections).
The individual materials can be dis-
posed of in recycling containers.
•Slowly pressurize your complete sys-
tem.
In this way you can avoid uncon-
trolled movements.
•Use the product in its original form.
Unauthorized product modification is
not permitted.
Fitting
Mechanical
•Ensure that there is sufficient space
for the pneumatic connections.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvor-
kehrungen wie Schutzwachs, Folien,
Kartonagen und Kappen (mit Aus-
nahme der Verschlußelemente in
den pneumatischen Anschlüsse).
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter
ist möglich.
•Belüften Sie Ihre gesamte Anlage
langsam.
Dann treten keine unkontrollierten
Bewegungen auf.
•Verwenden Sie das Produkt ohne
jegliche eigenmächtige Veränderung.

•Achten Sie auf genügend Platz für
die pneumatischen Anschlüsse.

Zur Ausrichtung des STAF-...-P-A-R
(Rollenausführung):
•Stellen Sie sicher, daß folgende
Punkte eingehalten werden:
- Transportrichtung des Förderguts
exakt senkrecht zur Aufprallfläche
der Kolbenstange ®.
- Fördergut prallt
nicht auf die Rolle.
Schräg auftreffendes Fördergut führt
zur Verkürzung der Lebensdauer des
STAF-...-P-A-R.
•Plazieren Sie den Stopperzylinder
so, daß die Flanschoberseite folgen-
den Abstand X in zum Fördergut hat.

•Befestigen Sie den STAF-... am An-
schlußflansch mit vier Schrauben
(siehe Bild 10).
When setting up the STAF-...-P-A-R
stopper cylinder (roller design)
•make sure of the following:
- the direction of transport of the
moving load must be exactly
vertical to the impact surface of
the piston rod ®.
- the moving load must not strike the
roller.
If the moving load strikes at an ob-
lique angle, the lifespan of the STAF-
...-P-A-R will be reduced.
•Place the stopper cylinder so that
the top of the flange is the following
distance X from the moving load.

•Achten Sie darauf, daß der

Inbetriebnahme
•Stellen Sie sicher, daß niemand in
die Bewegungsrichtung des STAF-...
faßt.
•Belüften Sie Ihre gesamte Anlage
langsam mit einem Betriebsdruck
von min. 1,5 bar (bei STAF-80-...:
min. 1 bar).
Nur so ist eine sichere Funktion
gewährleistet.
Zur Vermeidung von Schleifspuren des
STAF-...-P-A an der Unterseite des För-
derguts:
1. Prüfen Sie das von der Steuerung
vorgegebene Zeitintervall zwischen
Be- und Entlüftung.
2. Stellen Sie sicher, daß das Zeitinter-
vall t größer als der Quotient aus max.
Fördergutlänge Lmax und Fördergesch-
windigkeit v ist.

Commissioning
•Make sure that nobody can place
his/her hand in the direction of
movement of the STAF-....
•Slowly pressurize the complete
system with an operating pressure of
min. 1.5 bar (with STAF-80-...:
min. 1 bar).
Only in this way a reliable function
is guaranteed.
To avoid traces of the STAF-...-P-A rub-
bing on the bottom of the moving load:
1. Check the time interval specified by
the controller between pressurization
and exhausting.
2. Make sure that the time interval t is
greater than the quotient of max.
