KIT COMPONENTS
Ceramic Stones
The number of stones used varies by model size. See
Table 1.
PREPARATION
1. Remove front and glass assembly. Refer to appliance
installation manual for glass removal and replacement
instructions.
2. Glass media is required with the PRIMO, PRIMO-II,
MEZZO-B, MEZZO-C and MEZZO-AUB appliances and
must be installed prior to placing stones. Install media
according to instructions included in glass media kit.

LOGS INSTALLATION
The stone kit cannot be used in conjunction with logs on
the PRIMO-II series. All other series may use the stone kit
in conjunction with optional log sets. If using logs, install
logs according to instructions included in log kit prior to
installing stones.
STONES INSTALLATION
Note: Maximum amount of stones that may be used in
the PRIMO-II series is one set.
1. If an optional log kit has been installed, the maximum
amount of stones that may be used is one set. If an
optional log set is not installed, two sets of stones may
be used.
2. Refer to Table 1 for the stones kit names and corre-
sponding appliance models. Use only the appropriate
stones kit for each model listed.

STONES. Place stones as instructed. Flame perfor-
mance could be impacted. Sooting could occur.

• Place stones according to instructions.
• Do NOT place stones on the burner.
• Do NOT use any media or stones other than the
Hearth & Home Technologies-supplied options
for this replace model.
Fireplace will not function properly.
Delayed ignition could occur.
3. DO NOT place stones on the burner or within 1/2 inch
of the burner. See Figure 1.
WARNING! Risk of Explosion! DO NOT place stones on

lodge or fall into area between the pilot and the burner.
Fireplace will not function properly. Delayed ignition could
occur.
NOTICE: DO NOT STACK STONES. Place stones in
a single layer. Flame appearance could be impacted.
Sooting could occur.
5. Check between the pilot and burner and remove any
media that has fallen into this area.
TROUBLESHOOTING
After the initial start up burn, it may be necessary to adjust
the media placement to achieve the best ame appear-
ance. While ame height variation is normal, there may
appear to be higher peaks in some areas and low ame
peaks in other areas.
If the ame height appears to be excessively high in
some spots, applying more media to these areas on top
of the burner will help even out the ames. Spreading
the media as evenly as possible is the most e󰀨ective way
to achieve optimal ame appearance and the most even
ame heights. One or more test burns may be required
to watch the ames mature and see how even they look
before making adjustments.

4. Place stones as desired in a single layer on top of
media. See Figure 2 and Figure 3 for examples of
stone placement. Stones must be placed at least 1/2
inch away from the burner.
WARNING
Risk of Asphyxiation or Fumes.
• Place media according to instructions.
• Do NOT place media in area between glass and
rebox.
• Do NOT place media in a position that they may
fall into area between glass and rebox.
• Do NOT use any media other than the media
supplied with this replace.
Fireplace will not function properly.
Gas leak may occur.
6. Turn the appliance on to verify that the pilot and the
burner light properly.
7. Remove any glass media that may have fallen in the
bottom glass rail. Glass will not install properly if media
is present in glass rail. See Figure 4.

8. Reinstall glass assembly and front. Refer to the appliance
installation manual for replacement instructions.
