Instructions
This surround kit has been tested for use with the Heat & Glo LUX60. Check with your local building code agency before
you begin installation to ensure compliance with local codes, including the need for permits and follow-up inspections. If
you encounter any problems regarding code approvals, or if you need clarification of any of the instructions contained here,

CAUTION! Risk of Cuts, Abrasions or Flying
Debris. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses
during installation. Sheet metal edges are sharp.

• Remove surround frame from packaging. Be very careful
to not cut into the steel frame or scratch the paint. Set
aside.
NOTICE: All fingerprints and smudges must be wiped
clean from the viewable surfaces of the surround kit prior
to the initial burning of the fireplace. If this is not done,
these prints and smudges will be cured into the finish and
set for the life of the fireplace. To keep the finish looking
its best, gently wipe with a soft cloth and if desired, soap
and water. Never use thinner or abrasive cleaners since
these products will damage the finish.
CAUTION! The surround kit is heavy. We recommend
two installers to put the frames in place.
• Remove the twelve screws holding the rock templates
(if in place) from the fireplace. Discard the screws and
templates.
• Install the “L” plates onto the frame/surround using the
5/8 in. bolts from the fastener pack.
- The “L” plates are interchangeable diagonally from
corner to corner, but not from top to bottom or side to
side.
- Tighten the bolts, taking care to not scratch the powder
coating on the bolt head.
- Do not overtighten the bolts. A snug fit is enough to
hold the “L” plates in place.
• Set the outer frame in place inside the 1 in. square tube
frame on the fireplace. Secure the outer frame flange to
the square tube frame with 12 self-tapping screws from
the fastener pack.

• Place the bottom tabs of the inner frame into the slots
on the bottom flange of the outer frame. Pull the spring
clips (located at the top inside of the inner frame) towards
the center of the frame, rotate the top of the frame to the
fireplace. When the inner frame front is flush with the outer
frame front, release the clips to lock the frame in place.
