Su nuevo MONTECARLO R1 de JANÉ es un asiento diseñado para proteger
al niño en el automóvil desde aproximadamente los 3 años (15 Kg. de
peso) hasta aproximadamente 12 años de edad (36 Kg. de peso).
Para mejorar la seguridad del niño, el asiento MONTECARLO R1
dispone de:
-Sistema de fijación al automóvil basado en los anclajes ISOFIX. Ésta
solo sirve para fijar la silla al automóvil, el niño debe estar sujeto con
el cinturón de tres puntos de su automóvil.
-Cabezal con 6 posiciones en altura para mantener la protección durante
el crecimiento del niño.
-Laterales más altos, proporcionan más protección contra impacto lateral.
-Material absorbente de impactos en laterales y centro del cabezal.
-Cabezal reforzado contra torsiones.
Para mejorar el confort y su adaptabilidad al niño, su asiento
MONTECARLO R1 dispone de:
-Respaldo y cabezal regulables en anchura de forma independiente.
-Asiento reclinable, dispone de 2 posiciones.
-Apoyabrazos del elevador regulables en altura.
Con el fin de proteger adecuadamente al niño y, asegurar su
confort y sujeción dentro del automóvil será necesario que
respete las siguientes instrucciones:
MONTECARLO R1 ha superado las exigentes pruebas de seguridad
de la directiva Europea ECE 44/04 para los grupos 2 y 3.
INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES
Su asiento MONTECARLO R1 ha sido diseñado para ser instalado en
los asientos traseros o delanteros del automóvil, siempre que
dispongan de cinturones de tres puntos y no tengan conectado
un AIR-BAG frontal. Aun así, aconsejamos que se instale siempre
que sea posible en las plazas traseras, ya que así se consigue la
máxima seguridad.
Es válido sólo para automóviles dotados con cinturones
automáticos de tres puntos de anclaje, homologados según el
reglamento ECE-16 u otras normas equivalentes. NO usar con
un cinturón de dos puntos de anclaje, es muy peligroso en caso
de frenada brusca o accidente.
-Carcasas con sistema de aireación.
-Acolchado extra.

En algunos automóviles la cinta de la hebilla del cinturón se halla en
una posición muy avanzada, de manera que puede quedar en contacto
con el canto del asiento elevador, siendo esta situación no segura.
En este caso, pruebe a adelantar el asiento o a instalarlo en otro asiento.
En caso de duda, contacte con JANÉ (0a).
No todos los sistemas de seguridad son exactamente iguales,
por lo que aconsejamos que compruebe el MONTECARLO R1 en el
automóvil que vaya a ser montado.
Es muy importante no utilizar productos de segunda mano, ya
que JANÉ, S.A. sólo puede garantizar la total seguridad en
artículos usados por su primer comprador.
JANÉ, S.A. recomienda sustituir su asiento MONTECARLO R1 por
uno nuevo, cuando haya sido sometido a violentas tensiones
después de un accidente.
Compruebe que todos los cinturones están en su correcta
posición y debidamente ajustados a al niño. Vigile que ningún
cinturón esté enroscado. Debe hacer entender al niño que bajo
ningún concepto debe manipular los cinturones o los enganches
del mismo.
El asiento MONTECARLO R1 está concebido para su uso en el
automóvil, por lo que no se debe usar fuera del mismo.

AJUSTES PREVIOS
1 Montaje del respaldo con el elevador
Para montar el respaldo sobre el cojín elevador, levante la parte
posterior del tapizado del cojín elevador, coloque el respaldo en
posición horizontal y encaje las dos patas del respaldo en los agujeros
del cojín elevador (1a).
Gire el respaldo hasta su posición vertical (1b).
Ponga la pieza de bloqueo en la parte trasera de las patas del
respaldo, solo hay una posición que encaje perfectamente, y por
último, fíjela con los 4 tornillos (1c). Guarde la llave por si necesita
desmontarlo en el futuro.

2 Comprobación de la altura del cinturón de hombros
Para conseguir la mejor protección para el niño, el cinturón de hombros
debe estar guiado para que pase ligeramente por encima de su hombro.
Es necesario ajustar esta posición a medida que el niño crezca.
Ponga el niño en el asiento, asegúrese que está bien sentado. El cinturón
debe quedar ligeramente por encima del hombro del niño (2a).
Para regular la altura, presione el botón situado detrás del cabezal y
deslice el cabezal en la dirección deseada (2b). Cuando llegue a la
altura correcta, suelte el botón y muévalo hasta la posición de bloqueo
más próxima, debe oír un clic.
ATENCIÓN. Controle y corrija esta altura a medida que el niño crezca

INSTALANDO SU MONTECARLO R1 EN EL AUTOMÓVIL
Los anclajes ISOfix, se han desarrollado para conseguir una fijación segura y fácil de los
sistemas de retención infantil en el automóvil. No todos los automóviles disponen de
estos anclajes, aunque en los modelos más nuevos se van generalizando. Consulte la lista
adjunta de automóviles en que se ha comprobado que la silla puede ser instalada
correctamente.
Futuras actualizaciones de dicha lista se podrán consultar en la página
web de JANÉ (www.jane.es).
3 Fijación del MONTECARLO R1 con los anclajes ISOfix de su automóvil
Cada fabricante, dependiendo de la configuración de sus asientos, puede situar sus
anclajes más o menos avanzados, ello obliga a tener en las sillitas,
una regulación en la posición de los anclajes ISOfix.
Si va a instalar su MONTECARLO R1 con los anclajes rígidos, siga cuidadosamente
los pasos descritos en el siguiente apartado:
Retire primero los terminales de protección, para ello, tire del botón del anclaje
(3a). Guarde estos terminales por si en el futuro usa el MONTECARLO R1 sin ISOfix.
Extraiga el anclaje presionando los botones rojos en los laterales (3b).
Asegúrese que ambos anclajes estén abiertos, debe verse la señal roja en
el botón de los anclajes (3c).
Sitúe su MONTECARLO R1 sobre el asiento del automóvil de acuerdo a los
consejos y advertencias que le hacemos en las INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES.
Antes de proceder a instalar inspeccione el asiento de su vehículo para
localizar los dos anclajes ISOfix. Una vez localizados, posicione su MONTE-

Ponga el niño en el asiento MONTECARLO R1 y asegúrese que está sentado en el
fondo, pase el cinturón por encima de él y abróchelo (4a). Introduzca el cinturón de hombros
por la guía de color rojo del cabezal (4b). Pase el cinturón abdominal por debajo de ambos
apoyabrazos del cojín elevador, la zona por donde debe pasar el cinturón está nuevamente
indicada en color rojo (4c). Finalmente tense el cinturón.
Para sacar al niño del asiento, solo tiene que desabrochar el cinturón de seguridad
y abrir el cierre de la pinza de hombros.
Cuando no esté ocupado, NO deje el asiento MONTECARLO R1 suelto dentro
del habitáculo del automóvil, abróchelo de nuevo con el cinturón o guárdelo
en el compartimento porta equipajes.
Al poner al niño de nuevo en el asiento, vigile que ninguna cinta esté enroscada o fuera
de sitio.
CARLO R1 de manera que los anclajes rígidos apunten hacia los anclajes ISOfix del vehículo.
Presione los anclajes rígidos hacia el asiento hasta que se bloqueen ambos,
compruebe que se ve la señal verde en los dos anclajes (3d).
Siga presionando con más fuerza hasta que el elevador toque el respaldo
del asiento del automóvil (3e). Asegúrese que ha quedado firmemente
sujeto tirando del asiento.
Cuando desee retirar el asiento MONTECARLO R1, tire de los botones al mismo
tiempo que extrae el elevador. (3f)

No recline el asiento cuando está en uso. Para reclinar o enderezar su
asiento MONTECARLO R1, deberá ajustar la longitud del cinturón. Realice
esta operación con el automóvil parado.
Para reclinar el asiento, levante la palanca delante del Cojín elevador y
deslícelo hasta la posición deseada (5a). Dispone de 2 posiciones.
6 Regulación laterales del respaldo y del cabezal en anchura
5 Reclinado del asiento
Para regular los laterales del respaldo y del cabezal, gire los pomos situados
en el lateral del asiento (6a). Gire en sentido horario para abrirlos, gire
en sentido antihorario para cerrarlos.

7 Regulación de los apoyabrazos en altura
Para regular la altura de los apoyabrazos del Cojín elevador, presione
en el centro y gírelo hasta la posición deseada (7a). Dispone de tres
posiciones.

ATENCIÓN RECOMENDACIONES
No deje nunca al niño solo.
Cualquier alteración o adición al dispositivo sin la oportuna
autorización de JANÉ, S.A. puede alterar gravemente la seguridad
del sistema de retención.
No seguir cuidadosamente las instrucciones para el correcto uso del
sistema de retención puede ser peligroso para la seguridad del niño.
Este dispositivo de seguridad no puede ser usado sin su tapizado, ni
ser reemplazado por otro que no sea el original, ya que éste forma
parte integrante de las características de seguridad del sistema.
No recline el asiento cuando está en uso. Para reclinar o enderezar
su asiento MONTECARLO R1, deberá ajustar la longitud del cinturón.
Realice esta operación con el automóvil parado.
No seguir el paso de cinturones indicados en las instrucciones
puede ser altamente contraproducente.
Guarde este libro de instrucciones para futuras consultas.
Llévelo siempre en el compartimento situado debajo del cojín
elevador.
Asegúrese de que dentro del automóvil, tanto el equipaje como
cualquier otro objeto susceptible de causar daños en caso de
accidente estén debidamente fijados o resguardados.
El asiento MONTECARLO R1 deberá estar fijado debidamente con los
cinturones de seguridad, aunque no se esté utilizando, ya que en
caso de accidente podría resultar despedido provocando daños a
los ocupantes del vehículo.
Recuerde no usar el asiento MONTECARLO R1 en automóviles dotados
de AIR-BAG frontal, a no ser que puedan ser desconectados o
desactivados, caso que deberá consultar con el fabricante o
comercio vendedor de su automóvil.
Compruebe que el asiento MONTECARLO R1 no queda pillado entre
los asientos abatibles o por las puertas de su automóvil.

No exponga el tapizado al sol durante largos períodos,
mientras la silla no esté en uso cúbrala o guárdela en el
compartimento porta equipajes.
Lave las partes de plástico con agua templada y jabón,
secando posteriormente todos los componentes concienzudamente.
El tapizado puede desmontarse para ser lavado. Siga las siguientes
instrucciones:

Cabezal. Retire los 2 broches debajo de los laterales,
desabroche la cinta en la parte trasera y tire del tapizado
hacia delante, por último retire los dos broches de la parte
superior (8a).
Respaldo. Desabroche las dos cintas de atrás, los
broches en ambos laterales y tire del tapizado hacia delante (8b).
Cojín elevador. Desabroche los broches en la parte trasera,
retire el elástico de la parte delantera y tire del tapizado por la
parte delantera (8c).
Lavar con una temperatura nunca superior a 30°C.
Para montar de nuevo la tapicería siga los mismos pasos a la inversa.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Your new MONTECARLO R1 from JANÉ is a seat designed to protect
your child in the car from approximately 3 years of age (15 kg in weight)
to approximately 12 years of age (36 kg in weight).
To improve your child’s safety, the MONTECARLO R1 seat is fitted with:
-A system that fastens to the car seat based on ISOFIX anchorings.
This fastening only serves to anchor the seat to the car, the child
must be held in with the three-point safety belt of your car.
-A headrest with 6 height positions to maintain protection as the child
grows.
-Higher sides provide greater protection against side impact.
-Impact-absorbent material on the sides and centre of the headrest.
-A headrest reinforced against twisting.
-The seat can be reclined as it has 2 positions.
To improve the comfort and its adaptability to your child, your
MONTECARLO R1 seat has the following options:
-The width of the backrest and headrest can be regulated
independently.
In order to protect your child adequately and make sure
that they are comfortable and secure inside the car, you
must follow these instructions:
MONTECARLO R1 has passed the stringent safety tests of the European
Directive ECE 44/4 for groups 2 and 3.
Your MONTECARLO R1 seat has been designed to be installed on
rear or front seats of a car, providing that you have three-point
safety belts and that the front AIR BAG is not connected. Even
so, we recommend that as far as possible, you install it on the
rear seat, as this will ensure maximum safety.
It is only valid for cars fitted with automatic, three-point
anchoring safety belts, approved in accordance with ECE-16 standard
or other equivalent standards.
DO NOT use with a two-point anchoring safety belt. This is very
dangerous should you brake suddenly or in the event of an accident.
-The height of the armrests on the booster can be regulated.
-The chassis has a ventilation system.
-Extra padding.

In some cars, the safety belt clasp might be in a very high position
and may come into contact with the edge of the booster seat, making
this position unsafe. In this case, try moving the car seat forwards or
installing it on another seat. If you have any doubts, contact JANÉ (0a).
Not all safety systems are exactly the same, so we recommend
that you try the MONTECARLO R1 in the car in which you are going
to install it.
It is very important not to use second-hand products, as JANÉ,
S.A. can only guarantee the complete safety for items used by
the initial buyer.
JANÉ, S.A. recommends that you replace your MONTECARLO R1 seat
with a new one when it has been subjected to violent twisting
following an accident.
Ensure that all the belts are in their correct positions and
correctly adjusted to the child. Make sure that no belt is coiled up.
Make the child understand that under no circumstances should
they touch the belts or fastenings.
The MONTECARLO R1 seat has been designed to be used in the car,
so it must not be used anywhere else.

PRIOR ADJUSTMENTS
1 Assembling the backrest with the booster
To assemble the backrest on the booster cushion, lift the rear part of the
booster cushion cover, place the backrest in a horizontal position and slot
the two legs of the backrest into the booster cushion holes (1a).
Turn the backrest to its vertical position (1b).
Place the blocking part in the rear part of the legs of the backrest, there
is only one position that fits perfectly, and finally secure it with the 4
screws (1c). Keep the key in case you need to disassemble it in future.

2 Checking the height of the shoulder belt
To ensure the best protection for your child, the shoulder belt must be
guided so that it passes gently over their shoulder. You will need to
adjust this position as the child grows.
Put the child in the seat, make sure that they are seated correctly. The
belt must lie gently on the child’s shoulder (2a).
To regulate the height, press the button situated behind the headrest
and slide the headrest in the desired direction (2b). When you reach
the correct height, release the button and move it until it reaches the
closest blocking position, when you should hear a click.

INSTALLING YOUR MONTECARLO R1 IN THE CAR
ISOfix anchorings have been developed to ensure secure and easy
fastening of the child restraining systems in the car. Not all cars have
these anchorings, although they are becoming more standard in newer
models. Consult the attached list of cars in which it has been checked
that the seat can be installed correctly. Future updates of this list can be
checked on the JANÉ website (www.jane.es).
3 Fastening the MONTECARLO R1 with the ISOfix anchorings in your car
4 Securing your child in the MONTECARLO R1
Each manufacturer, depending on the configuration of the seats, can
position its anchorings more or less advanced, which makes regulation
of the position of the ISOfix anchorings on car seats necessary.
If you are going to install your MONTECARLO R1 with rigid anchorings,
carefully follow the steps in the section below:
First remove the protection caps. To do this, pull the anchoring button (3a). Keep
these caps in case you use the MONTECARLO R1 without ISOfix in the future.
Remove the anchoring by pressing the red buttons on the sides (3b).
Ensure that both anchorings are open, you should be able to
see the red signal on the anchorings button (3c).
Position your MONTECARLO R1 on the car seat following the advice and
warnings we gave in the GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Before continuing with the installation, inspect the your car seat to locate
the two ISOfix anchorings. Once you have located them, position your

fasten it again with the belt or store it in the boot.
When you put your child in the seat again, make sure that none of the straps
is coiled up or out of position.
MONTECARLO R1 so that the rigid anchorings point towards the car’s
ISOfix anchorings. Press the rigid anchorings towards the sear until both are
locked, check that you can see the green signal on the two anchorings (3d).
Continue pressing with greater force until the booster touches the
backrest of the car seat (3e). Make sure that it is firmly in place by
pulling on the seat.
When you wish to remove the MONTECARLO R1 seat, pull the buttons at
the same time that you remove the booster. (3f)

WARNING: Do not recline the seat when it is being used. To recline or
straighten your MONTECARLO R1 seat, you should adjust the length of the
belt. Do this with the car stopped.
To recline the seat, raise the lever in front of the booster cushion and slide
it to the desired position (5a). It has 2 positions.
6 Regulation of the width of the sides of the backrest and headrest

To regulate the sides of the backrest and headrest, turn the knobs situated
on the side of the seat (6a). Turn them clockwise to open them and turn
anticlockwise to close them.
