triggercircuit.Inthisposition,a partoftheinputsignalfed
totheINPUT(5)or(9)jackisappliedfromthevertical
amplifiertothetriggercircuittocausethetriggersignal

WhentheVERTMODEpositionisselected,thetrigger
sourceisdependentupontheverticalMODEselection.
WhentheverticalMODEselectionisinALT,theALTposi-

WhentheSOURCEselectionisinEXT,theinputsignalat
theEXTTRIGINPUT(§)jackbecomesthetrigger.This
signalmusthavea timeorfrequencyrelationshiptothe
signalbeingobservedtosynchronizethedisplay.External
syncispreferedforwaveformobservationinmanyapplica-
tions.Forexample,Fig.7 showsthatthesweepcircuitis
drivenbythegatesignalwhenthegatesignalintheburst
