Let’s begin by setting up the features on your PIN Pad.
. POWER UP YOUR PIN PAD
a) Power up your PIN Pad by plugging it into any computer via the USB cable
b) When you see the TELIUM MENU screen, select NO (F1)
. SELECT THE LANGUAGE
a) When you see the LANGUAGE/LANGUE screen, select ENGL (F1) for English or select
FRAN (F4) for French
. ENABLE THE CONTACTLESS READER
a) When you see the CONTACTLESS READER screen, select ENABLE (F1). This will allow
your customers to pay by tapping their contactless card on the PIN Pad

. SELECT YOUR SMARTPHONE’S OPERATING SYSTEM
a) When you see the MODE screen, scroll (F1) to select your smartphone’s operating system
and press
. ENABLE THE CARD REMOVAL REMINDER
a) When you see the BEEP screen, select ON (F1). This will enable the PIN Pad to beep at
the end of a transaction to remind your customer to remove their chip card
. FINALIZE THE PIN PAD SETTINGS
a) When you see the CASHBACK screen, select NO (F4) – PAYD PRO does not support this
function yet
b) When you see the PED SERIAL NUMBER screen, press
Note: The PED Serial Number is the device name (also referred to as the 8-digit PIN Pad
device ID) that will appear on the Bluetooth list on your smartphone
c) When you see the WELCOME/BONJOUR screen, disconnect the USB cable from the
external power source (e.g., your computer), but leave the cable connected to your PIN Pad
d) Simultaneously press and hold down and

to power off your PIN Pad

Follow these steps carefully to pair your PIN Pad with your smartphone via Bluetooth.
Don’t worry: you’ll only have to do this once.
. RESTART YOUR PIN PAD AND POWER UP YOUR SMARTPHONE
a) Turn on your smartphone, ensure Bluetooth is on and your smartphone is “discoverable”
b) Reconnect the USB cable to the external power source (e.g., your computer)
c) When you see the following screen, you have 10 seconds to press and then

a) If you are pairing the PIN Pad with an iPhone®, go to Pairing with an iPhone on page 5
b) If you are pairing the PIN Pad with an AndroidTM smartphone, go to Pairing with an
Android smartphone on page 7
Note: If the WELCOME/BONJOUR screen appears, go back to step 6c
(on page 3) and repeat the steps to disconnect, power off and restart
the PIN Pad

. FIND YOUR SMARTPHONE VIA BLUETOOTH
a) When you see the TELIUM MENU screen, select YES (F4)
b) When you see PRESS F KEY, press to access the FUNCTIONS menu
Note: Ensure your smartphone is on and the Bluetooth pairing screen is displayed on it
c) Press the 2key to select BT PAIRING
d) Press the 2key to select Pair device (iOS)
Note: If you see the AVAILABLE DEVICES screen, press to select Search devices and scan
for your smartphone. When you see a list of Bluetooth devices, scroll (F2) to select your
smartphone and press
e) You will see the Start pairing… screen with a PIN code on the PIN Pad (this screen will
time out after 1 minute)
Note: If you see Pairing Failure and then the BT PAIRING menu appears again, go back
to step 3d (on this page) and repeat the steps to select the iOS operating system and
re-generate the PIN code

. ENTER THE BLUETOOTH PIN CODE ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
a) Enter the PIN code and start the pairing process
b) You will see the Pairing Success screen on your PIN Pad, and then the BT PAIRING menu
will appear
Note: If you see Pairing Failure and then the BT PAIRING menu appears again, go back
to step 3d (on page 5) and repeat the steps to select the iOS operating system and
re-generate the PIN code
c) Press to return to the WELCOME/BONJOUR screen
d) Go to Setting up PAYD PRO on your smartphone on page 9

a) When you see the TELIUM MENU screen, select YES (F4)
b) When you see PRESS F KEY, press to access the FUNCTIONS menu
Note: Ensure your smartphone is on and the Bluetooth pairing screen is displayed on it
c) Press the 2key to select BT PAIRING
d) Press the 1key to select Pair device (Android)
e) When you see the Waiting for pairing… screen with a PIN code on the PIN Pad, do not use
this code. Go to step 4a
Note: If you see Pairing Failure and then the BT PAIRING menu appears again, go back
to step 3d (on this page) and repeat the steps to select the Android operating system

. ENTER A BLUETOOTH PIN CODE ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
a) Make your smartphone actively scan for available devices with which to pair
b) You will see the 8-digit PIN Pad ID displayed on your smartphone’s Bluetooth menu
Note: The 8-digit ID starts with “I6” (e.g., I6012345). The ID also appears on a label affixed
to the back of the PIN Pad
c) Tap the 8-digit PIN Pad ID displayed on your smartphone to start the pairing process
d) When you are prompted for a PIN code, enter any 8 to 16-digit number of your choosing
Note: You will also enter this number as the PIN code on the PIN Pad in the next step
. ENTER THE BLUETOOTH PIN CODE ON THE PIN PAD
a) When you see the ENTER PIN CODE 8 to 16 digits screen on the PIN Pad, enter the same
number that you entered on your smartphone in step 4d
b) You will see the Pairing Success message on your PIN Pad, and then the BT PAIRING menu
will appear
Note: If you see Pairing Failure and then the BT PAIRING menu appears again, go back to
step 3d (on page 7) and repeat the steps to select the Android operating system and then
re-enter a PIN code (you may re-use the same PIN code or enter a different one)
c) Press to return to the WELCOME/BONJOUR screen
d) Go to Setting up PAYD PRO on your smartphone on page 9

Setting up PAYD PRO on your smartphone
Now you can connect the PIN Pad to the PAYD App on your smartphone.
. REFER TO YOUR WELCOME EMAIL AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE:
a) Activated your PAYD store at getpayd.com/activate
b) Installed the PAYD App on your smartphone
c) Signed into the PAYD App. You’ll need your username, store ID and password
. INITIALIZE THE PIN PAD ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
a) In the PAYD App, tap , then tap Settings
b) Tap Pinpad
Note: If Connect Pinpad appears, tap it
c) Tap Initialize Pinpad
d) You will see the message “Initializing pinpad. This may take a few minutes.”
(You will see PLEASE WAIT on your PIN Pad.)
e) When you see the message “Initialization was successful. Pinpad is ready to use”,
the initialization is complete (You will see WELCOME/BONJOUR on your PIN Pad.)
f) Tap OK to acknowledge the “Success” message
g) Tap , then tap Sale P.9

Make sure you fully charge the PIN Pad before using it to accept payments.
1. Leave the USB charging cable plugged into the PIN Pad and a computer for
approximately 2 hours
2. When the battery icon in the top right corner of the PIN Pad screen is solid black,
the battery is fully charged
Now you’re ready to start processing payments.
