PREPARATION
1. Position motorcycle securely on its side stand.
INSTALLATION
INSTALL ROD CLAMPS TO RODS
1. Install the Left and Right Rod Clamps (11 and 12) to Rods.

1. Using the two Screws (10) install the Left and Right Rod
Assemblies to the Windshield. Leave Scews loose until final
adjustment. (3/16” Hex Key) Figure 2
U-CLAMP ASSEMBLY
2. Size your handlebars. Select the 7/8” (22mm) or the 1”
(25mm) U-Clamps from Bag#135.
3. Hold shield to motorcycle and select the best location
around a vertical se tion of the handlebar to mount the
U-Clamps. Figure 3b and 3c
4. Put an Indented Cup Spacer (6) and an Internal Lock
Washer (7) on each of the Eyebolts (5). Slip Eyebolts through
the U-Clamps. At the same time, insert two Bevel Washers (8)
(bevels facing each other) inside each U-Clamp so that the
Eyebolt passes through them. Figure 3a
5. Align the Cup Spacer (6) indentations with the “eyes” of the
Eyebolts (5). With the U-Clamps aligned evenly on each side of
the handlebars, slide the Uprights of the assembled screen
through the Eyebolts. Figure 3a and 3b
6. Carefully align the screen so that it sits slightly above and not
directly on the headlight. Now install and tighten the WhizLok
Nuts (9) onto the threaded portion of the Eyebolts. (9/16” Box
Wrench)
CHECK CLEARANCE
7. When the desired height and rake of the screen is adjusted,
carefully move the front forks left and right to make sure the Up-
rights Do Not contact the frame or gas tank. If the uprights are
too long, they can be trimmed with a fine hacksaw blade and
touched up with a rust-inhibiting black paint.
FURTHER ADJUSTMENTS
The rake of your Deflector Screen can now be changed at any
time by simply loosening the two Screws (10), pivoting the
screen on its mounts, and retightening the Screws.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To lean the s reen, wash with a lean soft loth, plenty of
warm water and if ne essary, a non-abrasive soap su h
as dishwashing liquid. Flannel or soft hamois make good
leaning loths. Pa nt, glue res due or grease removal:
Moisten otton with naphtha or turpentine followed by a
wash as above.
National Cy le Sh eld Wash™ (N1401-01) makes a good
daily leaner and omes with a handy travel size bottle.
Shield Wash is safe for all windshields and helmet visors.
Do not lean poly arbonate in hot sun or high tempera-
tures. Do not lean the s reen with glass leaners.
Do not allow brake fluid, al ohol, or strong solvents to on-
ta t the s reen.
RAIN REPELLENT
Do not use rain prote tive produ ts made for glass. We
re ommend National Cy le’s Ra nZ p® (N1410-01) to
keep your winds reen lear in rainy weather.

for a period of three years from the date of pur hase against breakage. This limited warranty is expressly limited
to the repla ement of the poly arbonate winds reen. This limited warranty does not in lude s rat hes, oating
failure, osmeti wear and tear, repla ement of hardware, or any onsequential damages or expenses in luding
labor ost of installation, removal and/or repla ement, in onvenien e, inbound freight expenses or damage to any other omponent
of the motor y le or any other a essories. Certain hemi als, generally known as a idi hydro arbons, are known to ause poly ar-
bonate damage and will not be overed under this limited warranty. Please refer to the leaning instru tions supplied with all National

Never ride your motor y le with loose a essory mounting hardware. Che k the hardware for tightness regularly.
Today's motor y les are built with enough frame rigidity to withstand the moderate loads imposed on them by the foreseeable addi-
tion of an a essory(ies). If an a essory(ies) adversely affe ts your motor y le's stability, immediately remove the a essory(ies).
Do not ride a motor y le that exhibits unsafe handling traits.
Have experien ed servi e personnel orre t any problem before riding with the a essory(ies) installed. For further questions on-
erning handling problems asso iated with an a essory(ies), onta t your dealer, motor y le manufa turer, or a essory manufa -
turer.
Sunlight refle ted off the inside urvature of the winds reen an, at ertain times of day, ause extreme heat buildup on the motor y-
les instruments and possibly even melt them. Exer ise are in parking to avoid this. Park your motor y le fa ing the sun or pla e an
opaque obje t over this area.
