INTRODUCTION
This arm support is intended to be a support for the upper arm of a side lying patient during surgical
procedures when a side lying patient gives better access to the surgeon.
The arm support can be adjusted in several different positions for best possible comfort to the patient.
The support can be adjusted in height, it can be turned around horizontally and it can be slanted
vertically 40° in all directions.
ABOUT USERS MANUAL
This user manual is for clinical personnel, service personnel and others who need knowledge about
and understanding of how the arm support works and how it can be used.
Read user manual carefully before the arm support is used.
Always follow the instructions in user manual.
Always keep user manual close to the arm support.
INSTALLATION
Check at the unpacking, that there are no damages on the equipment and that all parts are received
according to the delivery note. Also, check for loose parts in the box. The packing material consists
of cardboard and plastic, which all can be recycled.
IMPORTANT SECURITY DIRECTIONS
The arm support is dimensioned for a Safe Working Load of 15kg evenly applied. To keep the valid
safety factor according to the European standards EN 60601-1 and EN 60601-2-46 the Safe Working
Load shall not be exceeded. Overload can cause injuries to the patient or damage the equipment.
15kg Safe Working Load is corresponding to a patient weight of 200kg.
CAUTION! If the lock lever for turning around the arm support, or the lever for slanting is loosened
when the arm support is loaded, it must be supported in any other way to prevent it from uncontrolled
movements causing injuries to the patient, to the personnel or damage other equipment.
CAUTION! If the lock lever on the clamp that fasten the post of the arm support to the accessory rail
of the operating table is loosen when the arm support is loaded, it must be supported in any other way
to prevent it from uncontrolled lowering, causing injuries to the patient, to the personnel or damage
other equipment.
NOTE! The straps holding the arm of the patient fixed to the arm support must not be tightened as
hard as the patient feels uncomfortable, or that pressure injuries will appear.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The arm support consists of a stainless-steel plate with a certain profile and a soft upholstered pad
fixed to the plate by Velcro straps and two straps for fixation of the forearm of the patient. The plate
is mounted to a lockable pivot link, making it turn able in the horizontal plane. On the post, there is a
ball joint that makes it possible to slant the arm support ±40° in any plane. And, if a radial clamp
(rotatable clamp) is used to fix the arm support to the accessory rail of the operating table, the
adjustment possibilities are unlimited.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Be aware of, that service, maintenance and all kind of repair only must be done by for this purpose
educated personnel. Changing of any part of the construction without a written permission from the
manufacturer will be prohibited.
Cleaning
Clean with soap and tempered water or with an antiseptic detergent with PH 6-8.
Detergents containing strong acids or bases shall not be used. Alcohol may be used on
metal parts.
Control
Check daily before use, that all locking functions work properly. Also check that there
are no damages on the pad. To prevent contamination, damaged pads must be replaced.
Annual service
Once a year the arm support shall be carefully cleaned. Threads and moving parts shall
be lubricated with thin waterproof grease. All locking functions shall be tested and,
if necessary adjusted. Damaged or wear parts shall be replaced.
