Intended use
This traction/stretch device is made for use together with a hand traction device model
“Weinberger”, when a patient with broken wrist or forearm shall be treated. The traction device is to
be attached into the square tube frame of the arm & hand operating table and the “Weinberger unit
shall be mounted on the short rail on the ball joint.
Safety regulation
The traction/stretch device is designed for a Safe Working Load of 25kg. To keep the safety factor
according to the European standards EN 60601-1 and EN 60601-2-46 this Safe Working Load must
not be exceeded. Overload can damage the unit and cause injuries to the patient or to the personnel.
A Safe Working Load of 25kg is corresponding to a patient weight of 330kg.
Before use, ensure correct function!
When the locking lever, that locks the vertical movement loosens, the responsible personnel must be
sure of, that the traction unit is supported in any other way to prevent it from falling into the mattress
of the hand surgery table.
When the lever that locks the outer telescopic tube in the sleeve loosens during operation, the
responsible personnel must be sure of that there still is traction force in the unit, by manual pulling or
in any other way.
Service and preventive maintenance shall be performed by authorized personnel.

The Weinberger traction unit (10-393) is attached to the short rail on the ball joint by pushing the
clamp on the unit on to the rail and lock it by turning the knob on the clamp anticlockwise.
The Weinberger traction unit can be turned, and angle adjusted ±40° in any direction by unlocking
the ball joint. To unlock, turn the ball joint knob anticlockwise, put the hand traction unit to desired
position and lock by turning the knob clockwise.
Maintenance
Service, preventive maintenance, adjustment and repair shall be performed by authorized personnel
only. Altering the construction without a written consent from the manufacturer, is strictly forbidden.
Cleaning
Clean with antiseptic detergent with pH 6 –8 and warm water. Wipe dry with soft cloth. Do not use
strong acidic or alkaline detergent.
Control
Check the function and that there are no loose parts or damage to any part.

Annual Service
Once a year the hand fixation shall be carefully cleaned, threading’s shall be lubricated, the locking
function shall be tested.
