theproduct,eitherdirectlyorindirectly.Thisappliesinparticulartouseof
theproductthatdoesnotconformtoitsintendedpurposeandisneither

withpotentiallyexplosivegases;forexample,incaseswheredissolvedinks

TheRS25registersensorisanopto-electronicsensorintendedfor
non-contactrecognitionofprintmarksintheprintingindustry.
TheRS25registersensorconsistsofanevaluationunitandanopticalsen-
sorhead.Theopticalsensorheadisrmlyconnectedtotheevaluationunit
viaoneber-opticcableeachforthetransmitterandreceiver.
Theprintingindustryusesprintmarks,suchastriangles,forlateraland
longitudinalregistermonitoring.Theedgesaredetectedbytheregister
sensorRS25.
TheregistersensorRS25isconnectedtoEthernetPowerlink.Ethernet
Powerlinksuppliesahigh-resolutionNetTimeforsynchronizationviathe
network.AlldetectededgesaretransmittedfromtheRS25registersensor
tothePLCwiththeNetTimeasareference.
Inthisway,high-qualityinformationisprovidedtothePLC.ThePLCcancal-
culatethelateralandlongitudinaloffsetusingtheexacttimingoftherising
andfallingedges.Forlongitudinalmonitoring,thedistancesofthefront
edgesarecalculated.Forlateralmonitoring,thethicknessofthemarkis
comparedwiththethicknessofthepreviousmarks.

5.1 Transport
Improper transport
ATTENTION
Damage to the register sensor due to improper
transport
Considerablematerialdamagemayoccurintheeventof
impropertransport.
Forthisreason:
• Registersensorsshouldonlybetransportedbytrained
specialiststaff.
• Theutmostcareandattentionisrequiredatalltimes
duringunloadingandtransportationoncompany
premises.
• Notethesymbolsonthepackaging.
• Donotremovepackaginguntilimmediatelybeforeyou
startmounting.
5.2 Transport inspection
Improper transport Upondelivery,pleasecheckthedeliveryforcompletenessandforanydam-
agethatmayhaveoccurredduringtransportation.
Inthecaseoftransportationdamagethatisvisibleexternally,proceedas
follows:
• Donotacceptthedeliveryoronlydosoconditionally.
• Notethescopeofdamageonthetransportdocumentsoronthetrans-
portcompany'sdeliverynote.
• Submitacomplaint.
NOTE
Complaints regarding defects should be led as soon
as these are detected. Claims for replacement due to
damage are only valid before the applicable complaint
deadlines.
