Der Antrieb J4 ist für die elektrische Steuerung von Außenjalousien / Raffstore vorgesehen.
Für die Sicherheit von Personen ist es wichtig, diese Anweisungen zu befolgen.
Eine fehlerhafte Montage kann schwere Verletzungen bewirken. Bewahren Sie
diese Sicherheitshinweise auf.
 Der Antrieb, das Drehmoment und die Laufzeit müssen auf die Gesamtanlage abgestimmt
sein.
 Verwenden Sie nur Originalzubehör von Somfy (Adapter, Rahmen, gleicher Kabeltyp usw.).
 Die Anlage darf nur von einer qualifizierten Person angebracht, getestet, in Betrieb genommen
und repariert werden.
 Der ordnungsgemäße Betrieb der Anlage ist nur bei fachgerechter Installation, Montage,
ausreichender Stromversorgung und Wartung gewährleistet.
 Die beweglichen Teile der Antriebe, die weniger als 2,50 m über dem Boden betrieben werden,
müssen gesichert werden.
 Bei Anzeichen von Beschädigungen (z.B. Verschleiß, beschädigte Kabel/Federn oder
verstellte Endlagen) darf die Anlage nicht benutzt werden.
 Die Anlage ist gegen unbefugte Bedienung zu sichern. Treffen Sie Sicherheitsvorkehrungen
gegen unbeabsichtigtes Einschalten.
 Kinder dürfen nicht mit ortsfesten Steuerungen spielen. Funkhandsender müssen sich
außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern befinden.
 Trennen Sie alle Anschlusskabel von der Spannungsversorgung, bevor Sie Arbeiten an der
Anlage vornehmen.
 Fest installierte Funksender müssen sichtbar sein.
 Betreiben Sie die Anlage nicht, wenn in, der Nähe Arbeiten (z.B. Fensterputzen) durchgeführt
werden.
 Beachten sie die Montage- und Bedienungsanleitungen, insbesondere die Sicherheitshinweise
des Herstellers des zu betreibenden Produkts.

2.3.1. Allgemeine Beschreibung
Der Schaltfühler schützt den Antrieb und das Produkt, auf dem er installiert ist, und dient vor allem
der Gewährleistung der Sicherheit von Installateur und Endbenutzer.
Für die Antriebe J4 1TN und J4 2TN muss der Schaltfühler als obere Endlage verwendet werden.
Für die Antriebe J4 HTM und J4 WT kann der Schaltfühler als obere Endlage verwendet werden,
wenn der Installateur diese Position nicht eingestellt hat.
Achten Sie während des Betriebes der Anlage darauf, dass die Lamellen waagerecht und nicht
senkrecht auf den Schaltpilz und die Verlängerung (so fern vorhanden) auffahren.
Das Herausziehen der einstellbaren Verlängerung zerstört den Antrieb.

Die Antriebe J4 1TN/2TN/HTM/WT sind, für den Fall, dass die Temperatur bei einem Dauerbetrieb
von mehr als 6 Minuten zu stark ansteigt, mit einem Thermoschutz versehen.

Treffen Sie Sicherheitsvorkehrungen gegen unbeabsichtigtes Einschalten.
Dieses Somfy-Produkt muss von einer fachlich qualifizierten Person (Elektrofachkraft


Der Antrieb J4 darf nur mit dem zugehörigen Netzkabel an die Spannungsversorgung angeschlossen
werden.
Dieser Antrieb darf nicht an einen Trenntransformator angeschlossen werden.
Wenn Sie einen Schalter benutzen, können max. 3 Antriebe, mit einer Gesamtkabellänge von 50 m,
parallel angeschlossen werden.
Achten Sie auf den richtigen Anschluss der Phasen und Nullleiter.
Schließen Sie an jeden Antrieb nicht mehr als einen Schalter an.
Im Falle einer Ansteuerung mit einer Steuerung oder anderen Automatismen, lesen Sie bitte in der
jeweiligen Gebrauchsanleitung nach.
Die Bewegung des Antriebs wird nur dann korrekt ausgeführt, wenn der Befehl kontinuierlich mind. 200
ms gesendet wird.
Damit an den Antrieb gesendete Befehle korrekt ausgeführt werden, müssen mindestens 500 ms
zwischen zwei Befehlen liegen.

4.3. Besonderheiten des J4 WT
Der Schaltfühler wird für die obere Endlage verwendet.
Verwenden Sie die im Kapitel 2.3 beschriebenen
Verlängerungen, um die Höhe anzupassen.
5. 1TN/2TN: Einstellen der Endlagen
5.1. Obere Endlage
5.2. Untere Endlage (1TN)/Untere Endlage Nr. 2 (2TN)
Die untere Endlage kann nicht über den Antrieb
angepasst werden. Der Antrieb wird mit der
werkseitig eingestellten unteren Endlage geliefert.
Verwenden Sie das folgende Verfahren, um die
untere Endlage der Außenjalousie zu ändern:
       
trennen Sie dann die Antriebswellen von den
Wellenadaptern (1).
 
in der unteren Endlage stoppt.
      
gewünschte untere Endlage (1TN)/untere
Endlage Nr. 2 (2TN).
      
Wellenadaptern (1), ziehen Sie dann bei
Bedarf die Schrauben (7) vollständig an.

Drücken Sie kurz die Einstelltaste der Endlage, bis sie einrastet (nicht
gedrückt halten).
Drücken Sie nur die Einstelltaste für die gewünschte Richtung (untere
Endlage = weiße Taste, obere Endlage = schwarze Taste).
Drücken Sie nie beide Einstelltasten gleichzeitig.
Sie könnten den Antrieb (Verriegelungsmechanismus) beschädigen.
Werkseinstellung: Der Antrieb wird in der unterer Endlage und mit 60 Umdrehungen bis zur
oberen Endlage ausgeliefert.
Die beiden nachstehend beschriebenen Vorgänge zur Einstellung der Endlage sind
voneinander unabhängig.
 Bewegen Sie die Außenjalousie, bis sie
sich mindestens 30 cm (b) unter der


 Bewegen Sie die Außenjalousie bis zur gewünschten
oberen Endlage (Tippbetrieb ist möglich).
 Bewegen Sie jetzt die Außenjalousie in Ab-Richtung,
bis Sie das Entriegeln der Taste hören (ca. 2 Umdrehungen/4 Sekunden).
Die obere Endlage ist jetzt eingestellt.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie den Antrieb umdrehen (Schaltfühler nach oben), können Sie das Verriegeln und
Entriegeln der Tasten sehen.
6. HTM: Einstellen der Endlagen
6.1. Obere Endlage
 Bewegen Sie die Außenjalousie, bis sie
sich mindestens 30 cm (e) über der


Die untere Endlage ist jetzt eingestellt.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie den Antrieb umdrehen (Schaltfühler nach oben),
können Sie das Verriegeln und Entriegeln der Tasten sehen.
 Führen Sie einen kompletten Zyklus durch, um zu prüfen, ob folgende Einstellungen richtig
sind:

Standardmäßig (Werkseinstellung) wird der Antrieb in der unterer
Endlage und mit 120 Umdrehungen bis zur oberen Endlage
ausgeliefert.
 Schließen Sie Montagekabel (USC) Artikel Nr. 9015971 an.
 Positionieren Sie die Außenjalousie zwischen den voreingestellten
Endlagen.
 Halten Sie die Taste  auf dem Montagekabel mindestens
5 Sekunden lang gedrückt.

Wenn Sie nicht über das Montagekabel verfügen, können Sie


automatisch ca. 5 mm unterhalb der Position des Schaltfühlers
gespeichert.
Hinweis: Sie können diesen Modus während des Einstellvorgangs verlassen,
indem Sie kurz die Taste  auf dem Montagekabel drücken.
7. WT: Einstellen der Endlagen
7.1. Umschalten in den Einstellmodus der Endlagen

Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich die Außenjalousie mindestens 30 cm unterhalb des Stopps

Wenn Sie nicht über das Montagekabel verfügen, können Sie diesen Vorgang durchführen,


Der Antrieb funktioniert nicht. Stellen Sie sicher:
 Dass der Antrieb richtig verkabelt ist.
 Dass der Antrieb nicht durch den Thermoschutz abgeschaltet wurde.
)Falls das der Fall ist, warten Sie das Abkühlen des Antriebs ab.
 Dass das richtige Kabel verwendet wurde.
 Dass es sich bei dem verwendeten Antrieb wirklich um einen Antrieb J4 WT handelt (siehe
Etikett).

Please read this installation guide carefully and in full in order to use the product’s functionalities
to their full extent. Somfy accepts no responsibility for any faults or damage resulting from failure
to adhere to the installation guide (use other than for the intended purpose, incorrect installation,
operating error etc.).
The J4 motor is designed for the electrical control of exterior Venetian blinds.
It is important to follow these instructions for the safety of all persons. Incorrect
assembly can lead to serious injury. These safety instructions must be retained.
 The motor, torque and operating time must be adjusted according to the whole installation.
 Only original Somfy accessories should be used (adaptors, brackets, same type of cable, etc.).
 Fitting, testing, commissioning and repair of the installation must only be carried out by
qualified personnel.
 Correct operation of the installation is only guaranteed if the installation and assembly
have been carried out according to best practices, if the power supply is adequate and if
maintenance is carried out.
 The moving parts of the motors must be protected if operating below 2.50 m from ground level.
 The installation must not be used if it shows any signs of damage (for example wear, damaged
cables/springs or misadjusted end limits).
 The installation must be protected from all unauthorised use. Take preventive measures to
avoid any unwanted operation.
 Children are not permitted to play with the wired controls. Keep the remote control out of the
reach of children.
 Disconnect all connected cables from the power supply before working on the installation.
 The permanently installed control points must be visible.
 Do not use the installation if work (cleaning windows for example) is being carried out nearby.
 Comply with the assembly and operating guides, in particular the safety instructions of the
manufacturer of the device to be used.

2. General
2.3.1. General information
The main function of the mushroom is to ensure the safety of the installer and the end user, by
protecting the motor and the product on which it is installed.
For J4 1TN and J4 2TN motors, the mushroom must be used as an upper end limit.
For J4 HTM and J4 WT motors, the mushroom can be used as an upper end limit if the installer
does not want to adjust this position.
Be sure that during the operation, no slat of the end product exerts radial effort on the mus-
hroom, or the guide tube (if used).


J4 1TN/2TN/HTM/WT motors are protected by a thermal cut-out in the event of a temperature rise
caused by continuous use, longer than 6 minutes.

for whom this guide is intended. The professionally qualified person must
comply with all the standards and legal provisions in force in the country of use.
The J4 power supply cable must never be powered while disconnected from the motor.
A J4 motor must never be supplied without its dedicated cable.
This motor must not be connected to an isolating transformer.
When you use a switch, a maximum of 3 motors, with a total cable length of 50 m, can be
connected in parallel.
The phases and neutrals must be connected together respectively.
Do not use more than one switch connected to each motor.
In case of drive by a controller or any automatisms, please refer to the dedicated instructions
manual.
The movement is correctly executed by the motor, only if it received a continuous order for at
least 200 ms.
For commands sent to the motor to be executed correctly, they must be at least 500 ms apart.
4. Electrical connection
4.1. 1TN / HTM / WT
4.2. 2TN

The mushroom is used for the upper end limit position.
To adjust the height of the mushroom, use the extensions
described in section 2.3.
5. 1TN/2TN: Setting the end limits
5.1. Upper end limit position
5.2. Lower end limit (1TN)/lower end limit no. 2 (2TN) position
The lower end limit position cannot be adjusted on
the motor. The motor is supplied ex. factory in the
lower end limit position.
To change the lower end limit position on
the exterior Venetian blind, use the following
procedure:
 If necessary, loosen the grub screws (7), then
disconnect the drive shafts from the motor shaft
adaptors (1).
 Rotate the motor downwards until it stops in the
lower end limit position.
 Position the exterior Venetian blind in the
required lower end limit (1TN)/lower end limit
no. 2 (2TN) position.
 Connect the drive shafts to the motor shaft
adaptors (1), then, if necessary, fully tighten the
screws (7).
The lower end limit position is now set.

Only press the setting button for the corresponding direction (lower end
limit = white button, upper end limit = black button).
Never press both setting buttons at the same time.
Risk of damaging the motor (interlock mechanism)
Factory setting: The motor is supplied in lower end limit position with 60 turns to the upper
end limit.
The 2 end limit position setting operations described below are independent.
 Move the exterior Venetian blind to at
least 30 cm (b) below the required upper
end limit (a).
 Press the black setting button (c)
until it locks.
 Move the exterior Venetian blind to the required
upper end limit position (momentary mode is possible).
 Now move the exterior Venetian blind downwards
until you hear the button unlock (approximately 2 turns/4 seconds).
The upper end limit is now set.
Note: When the motor is turned upside down (mushroom upwards), the locking and unlocking of
the buttons can be seen.
6. HTM : Setting the end limits
6.1. Upper end limit
 Move the exterior Venetian blind to at least
30 cm (e) above the required lower
end limit (f).
 Press the white setting button (d) until it
locks.
 Move the exterior Venetian blind to the
required lower end limit position
(momentary mode is possible).
 Now move the exterior Venetian blind upwards
until you hear the button unlock (approximately 2 turns/4 seconds).
The lower end limit is now set.
Note: When the motor is turned upside down (mushroom upwards),
the locking and unlocking of the buttons can be seen.
 Perform a complete cycle, to check that the following settings are correct:

Lower end limit position
Stop on mushroom, by resting against the mushroom during an upward movement.

By default (factory setting) the motor is supplied in lower end limit
position with 120 turns to the upper end limit position.
 Connect the WT setting tool - Ref. 9013142.
 Position the exterior Venetian blind in-between the preset end limit
positions.
 Press the  button on the WT setting tool simultaneously for at
least 5 seconds.
)The exterior Venetian blind makes a brief movement wards.
If you do not have the WT setting tool, you can perform this

