1 About this product
1.1 Intended use
The Flex Single Table is designed exclusively for use as
office furniture. Any other use, or use beyond the specified
intended use is considered to be improper.
Intended use also includes following all instructions
in the quick guide!
1.1.1 Foreseeable misuse
Improper use of the product can result in dangers to life and
limb as well as property damage. For this reason, improper use
is prohibited. In the event of improper use, Steelcase assumes
no liability for any damage that could occur and does not
guarantee that the components will function properly.
Possible improper use includes:
■Use as a climbing aid.
■Sitting on the workspace.
■Use for permanent storage of objects with a total
weight exceeding 15 kg.
■Outdoor use.
■Use in damp rooms.

2 Product description
Flex Single Tables are small personal tables, arranged in an
easily reconfigurable workspace, optimised to support
dynamic teams and various body postures while providing
users with a clear view of digital media.
Flex Single Tables offer the following design versions:
■Table with height adjustment
■Table at seating height
■Table at standing height with foot rest
Dimensions and weight specifications of your product are
provided on the delivery note.

Maximum load capacity 15 kg

The Flex Single Table essentially consists of the following
components:
■Tabletop
■Tabletop support
■Column: height-adjustable or fixed
■Base: with castors or sliders

■Modesty panel

3 Transport and assembly
3.1 Safety instructions
DANGER
Danger of crushing or shearing injuries due
to improper operation of the manual height
adjustment element!
During manual height adjustment, body parts or objects can
be crushed or sheared off.
}Maintain sufficient lateral clearance (at least 25 mm)
to all surrounding objects, walls, etc. throughout the
lifting range.
}Set up the table such that adequate free space is
ensured for the entire length of lift movements and
for maintenance.
WARNING
Injuries or damage possible due to torn
fastening bolts!
When lifting on the tabletop or the attached components, the
fastening bolts could tear out.
}When transporting or moving the desk, only grasp it
via the column.

CAUTION
Minor injuries or damage can occur due to
tilting!
When moving with an extended tabletop, minor injuries or
damage can occur due to tilting.
}Watch out for stumbling hazards, thresholds and nar-
row passages .
3.2 Checking the delivery contents
After unpacking, check the product immediately for damage
sustained during transport and for completeness; inform the
manufacturer of any damage as soon as possible.
3.3 Assembly
Please follow the provided assembly instructions to assemble
the Flex Single Table.
Steelcase recommends having the authorised dealer
or an assembly company assemble the desk.
Attaching accessories
Please follow the provided assembly instructions for attaching
accessories.

4 Operating and adjusting
4.1 Safety instructions
The Flex Single Table should only be used and operated in
faultless condition and in compliance with the instructions in
the user guide.
DANGER
Severe or fatal injury due to gas springs!
The blockable gas spring (X0M0TBE-435-986--001/150N from
Bansbach-easylift GmbH) used for Flex Single Tables is
permanently pressurised and must never be opened. Improper
installation or improper replacement of the gas pressure spring
can result in severe or fatal injury.
}Only specialists are allowed to work on gas springs!
}Only remove and handle the gas spring when exten-
ded!
CAUTION
Risk of minor injury or material damage
when used as a seat!
}Do not sit on the tabletop.

4 Operating and adjusting
PLEASE NOTE
Risk of tipping over due to overload!
The table can tip over and cause material damage if the
maximum load-bearing capacity is exceeded.
}Comply with the maximum load-bearing capacity spe-
cification.
4.2 Operation
4.2.1 Variant with height adjustment
The table can be variably adjusted to a height between 750
mm and 1185 mm.
Before changing the height of the table, ensure that:
■The tabletop is horizontal. The height is adjusted
using the adjusting screws on the sliders in the case
of uneven floors.
■No people or objects (e.g. open doors or windows)
are in the lifting range, or protrude into in the lifting
range.
■No one is on or under the table.
■The maximum permissible load capacity of the table
is not exceeded.
Downward adjustment of tabletop:
1. Remove all objects from the table.
2. Place one hand on the tabletop.
3. Pull the lever upwards.
4. Press until the desired table height is reached.
5. Release the lever.
