These should be easily accessible for referral at all times.
This manual should under no circumstances be placed on the machine oor underneath the lift. Air ow would be
restricted, resulting in damage to the chiller unit.

Payment systems such as coin mechanisms, banknote readers or cashless payment systems can be tted to this
machine.
We would like to point out that special accessories may be required and special settings may need changing in the
machine software in order to ensure error-free operation of the payment system being used. Please refer to additional
third-part documentation from the relevant manufacturer (operating manual, tting instructions etc.).

GF Robimat XL / XM OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Robimat is a machine for vending cooled drinks in cans, PET and glass bottles. The drinks do not fall into the dispense
outlet but are transported using a lift system. This means that fragile products can also be vended.
Specications for the products that are suitable for vending are listed in "Product Specications" chapt. 2.3 of these
operating instructions.
A two-line (LCD) display provides selection and system information.
All machine functions are managed and checked via a microprocessor module. Sales and error data is stored on the
machine control board.
The selection keypad is also used for programming the vending machine control board during servicing.
The vending machine is prepared for operation with a coin mechanism as standard.
As an option the Robimat is also available in a High Security version.
If malfunctions should occur which you cannot remedy yourself, our Customer Service Department will be pleased to
help. Please have the model, machine number and software version to hand.
This information is absolutely essential for warranty claims.
The identication plate is located inside the cabinet- on the top right hand side - and is visible once the sliding door unit
has been pulled out.

In addition to the chiller unit a heater is tted in the outdoor machine. The heater cannot be switched on manually. If
the ambient temperature on site falls below 0 °C, the heater is switched on by the vending machine control board. In
this way the interior is kept frost-free.

•Before commissioning the machine, the operating instructions should be read and understood.
•When transporting, setting up, servicing and repairing the vending machine, strict adherence to the following
rules and guidelines - in their latest version - is required: EU guidelines, VDE regulations (Association of German
Electro-technical Engineers), Country-specic regulations, Accident prevention regulations, Industrial code, Trade
association guide-lines, Regulations of the utility company responsible.
•Machine installation and repairs should only be carried out by trained service engineers.
•This machine can be used by children from 8 years and above and by people with limited physical, sensory or
mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised by another person
responsible for their safety, or if they have received instructions on how to use the machine and are able to
comprehend the dangers resulting thereof. Cleaning and maintenance work on the machine should not be carried
out by children without supervision.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine. The machine is not suitable for
children under 3 years old.
•Damaged power cables must only be replaced by the manufacturer, authorised service centre or equally qualied
person in order to prevent serious accidents.
•Appliance plugs should never be inserted in sockets when damp or touched with wet hands.
•It is imperative that an FI-safety cut-out switch with 30 mA maximum leakage current is provided for the machine.
No higher than a 16A fuse should be used.
•Prior to all work on electric parts the machine must be unplugged from the mains supply.
•Disconnect the machine from the mains before cleaning.
•The machine must be xed to the wall or oor.
•The venting clearance between the back of the vending machine and the wall on site must be observed (5 cm
minimum).
•The vending machine in its standard conguration is only suitable for climate class N.
•The machine location must be dry and have heating installed.
•The machine must only be transported when empty.
•Do not clean the machine with a water hose or a high-pressure cleaner.
•Moving the lift system quickly by hand may damage it. For this reason both axes of the lift system should be
moved slowly.
•When the product basket is moved manually to the product delivery position (on the right), the sliding door unit
should not be pulled out. Risk of damage!
•Use only genuine spare parts.
•Any modication to, or conversion of, the machine is prohibited! SIELAFF rejects any liability for any defects
resulting in this way!
•The machine should only be used for dispensing beverages in cans and bottles.
•Only products approved by SIELAFF should be used.
•Inammable or explosive goods must not be vended.

This vending machine was manufactured in accordance with state-of-the-art technology standards. Nevertheless, even
the most expertly designed machine, cannot be without risks.
In order to ensure the highest possible level of operator safety, additional safety guidelines are highlighted by using the
following symbols with accompanying detailed denitions.
Adequate safety during operation is ensured only when these safety precautions are observed.

Information to facilitate handling and use of the vending machine.
This symbol warns that electrically live components are installed in this area. Covers marked with
these symbols should only be removed by authorised electricians.
Parts and components that are susceptible to electrical discharge are behind covers marked with this
symbol. It is imperative that plug connections, electrical leads and component pins are not touched.
Only specialist personnel with ESD knowledge are authorised to work on the machine!

The vending process is as follows:
1. The customer selects product; the compartment number is read; money is inserted.
2. Compartment number is entered (selection keypad).
3. The basket is moved by the lift system to the compartment.
4. The motor moves the conveyor belt, the product is transported.
5. Product pushes down the product retainer.
6. The product "moves" into the product basket; the light grid is activated.
7. The gear is activated.
8. Basket is moved to transfer position; the shutter door is pushed open.
9. The product delivery door opens. Customer can take the product.
10. The change is deposited in the coin return.
11. Delivery door closes, basket moves back to its home position bottom left.

• The machine should only be lled with cans, glass and PET bottles.
• Products must comply with the requirements outlined in the following "Specications" list.
• A product with dimensions that do not correspond to these requirements may cause malfunctions. In addition,
suitability also depends on shape and product stability.
For this reason, please always check that a particular product vends correctly.
• To keep up with market trends and new products, Siela continually tests new packaging shapes for their
suitability to vend. Please contact our Customer Service Department for assistance.

When you choose the location for the machine please observe the following criteria:
• The machine may not be installed outdoors (except for Outdoor-machines and High-
Security-Variants located under a canopy).
• Check that the ambient temperature is in accordance with the climate class of the chiller
unit!
• The machine must not be installed in air containing salt or chlorine, such as an indoor
swimming pool.
• In adverse weather conditions (high humidity, high outdoor temperature) the front panels on the machine may mist
up. This is a temporary occurrence and not grounds for complaint.
• The front window of the machine must not be exposed to direct sunlight. The chiller unit is not designed for this.
• Do not install the machine in places where water hoses or a high-pressure cleaner is used.
• The oor must have an adequate load bearing capacity. Observe the weight.
• Make sure that the machine is level.
A distance of 5 cm at the back of the machine must be observed. The warm
air from the chiller unit must be able to discharge.
Additional machines can be placed either side of the machine.
There must be enough space in front of the door for opening.
• In order to avoid the machine taking in the hot air, which has already
been discharged, suction protection must be attached to the rear of the
machine. It must be tted so that it is ush with the ground!
• Avoid thermal short circuit!
• Suction protection is not required if the machine is tted with a rear
advertising panel.

Only when the machine is free-standing:
•hook the (optional) side kickplates into the rear feet (A) and x them
with the securing screws (B).
•t the front kickplate from the top and secure (C).
•nally secure them with screws on the sides (D).
If only a frontkick plate is tted:
• Mount xing plate using 2 screws onto the machine feet
• Fit the front panels from underneath and mount them in the xing plates
• Press the panel on, and with the door open secure with two screws

The vending machine must be levelled, and it is essential that the following criteria is adhered to:
•Horizontal, stable position.
•Correct height adjustment if part of a vending machine station.
•The machine door can be opened and closed without it dragging.
•When the machine door is closed, the door contact switch is correctly closed by the actuator!
How to proceed
1. Place the machine in its designated location.
2. Lift the machine if a pallet truck is available.
3. Screw the four feet out evenly. The distance between the oor and the lower edge of the side wall must be
approx. 9 cm.
4. Remove the pallet truck.
5. Check if the machine rocks over the axis B - C, when the corner F2 is pressed. If it rocks, screw in foot B until it
stops.
6. Check if the machine rocks over the axis A - D when the corner F1 is pressed down. If it rocks, screw in foot A until
it stops.
7. Place the spirit level on the rear wall and level by adjusting foot A.
8. Check if the machine rocks over the axis B - C, when the corner F2 is pressed. If it rocks, screw in foot B until it
stops.
9. Place the spirit level on the side wall and level by adjusting foot C.

The following ne adjustment must still be made once the machine has been levelled:
•Screw adjustable foot A inwards until the machine rocks over axis B - C. Press several times on the corner at F2
to check if the machine rocks.
•Exert strong pressure on the corner at F2 while manually unscrewing foot A until it touches the oor.
•Finally, using a size 24 spanner, make a ¼ to ½ turn to foot A. This results in less weight load on foot A than on
the other feet.
Consequently the machine does not wobble on the corner, the machine door does not drag and the door contact
switch works correctly.
