The ALCOCHECK passive alcohol tester does not require any mouthpiece
or user participation. When testing, it is able to sniff the air for the pres-
ence of alcohol, which makes it perfect for use in bars, schools, hospitals
and industrial-safety applications. The one-button operation ensures ease
of use, whether you operate in dark, with heavy gloves or with one hand.
The temperature range the device can be used in is 50 °F to 104 °F.
Battery
The ALCOCHECK tester requires four “AA” alkaline batteries to operate.
To insert or change, lift up and remove the rear cover. The device can
perform up to 5000 tests with a new set of batteries. To test the battery
life, keep the Power button pressed for two seconds. A green LED indi-
cates that the batteries are full, Amber LED indicates batteries need to be
changed soon and a Red LED indicates that the batteries are weak.
Performing a test
1. Press the Power button once to turn on the ALCOCHECK tester.
2. When the device is switched on, two beeps and a green flashing LED
indicate that the device is ready for a test.
3. Press the Power button again to collect the air sample to be analyzed.
You will hear a buzzing sound as this happens.
4. After the air sample is collected, a flashing amber LED indicates that the
ALCOCHECK tester is analyzing the air sample.
5. The LEDs display the result as follows:
Pass: Test passed. None or very little alcohol present (0 to 0.02 g/dL)
Warn: Test passed with a warning. Small amount of alcohol present
(0.02 to 0.05 g/dL).
Fail: Test failed. High amount of alcohol present (0.05 g/dL or higher).
6. The flashing green LED after a test indicates that the device is ready to
perform the next test.
