All of the dispensers shown in this book can be operated in the “Stand Alone” mode (no control
console), or with a control console s stem such as the 515 in conjunction with a 3rd part POS s stem.
The 2k Series is available with 1 product to 4 products, self-contained or remote dispenser.
1. A self-monitoring pulser will prevent product flow in the event of a malfunction.
2. Diagnostic software s stem built-in to aid in troubleshooting.
3. A Manager’s access code prevents unauthorized changes.
4. .5” Mone and Volume LCD displa s and .4” PPV LCD displa s which are lit from the back with high
efficienc , low power LED’s for easier viewing.
5. An allocation limit can be set from 1 to 999 gallons or 9,999 liters at the dispenser.
6. Maximum Displa values for Manager’s Mode 8 option 0 are:

7. A magnetic reed switch (Last Sale Recall) is provided for recalling the displa information during a
power failure.
8. An external switch (Totals) is provided for reading totals.
9. Two batter back-up s stems are provided:
• A +12 volt DC sealed lead acid batter works in conjunction with the Totals/Displa Recall
switch to displa the last sale data or pump totals when AC power is interrupted. The batter
will allow the displa s to be viewed in 30-second intervals for a total of up to 20 minutes.
• A +3.6 volt DC NiMH (Nickel Metal H dride) batter is used b the MCU to save data to the
EEPROM before disconnecting both batteries. The EEPROM has a data retention life of 200
ears.
10. All units have conformal coated electronic boards to help protect them from moisture or foreign
material damage. All major electronic board assemblies are environmentall tested and
temperature c cled.
11. All major low voltage connectors incorporate gold on gold contacts to prevent oxidation and promote
reliabilit .
12. The dispenser meets or exceeds FCC Emission Standards and UL specifications.
13. Dispenser programming is performed from the manager’s ke pad. The ke pad is located Inside the
electronics head behind the side 1 electronics door.

The Manager’s Keypad (see figure A.1).
The manager’s ke pad allows the dispenser to go into Manager’s Mode
so that it can be programmed. This mode allows access to the
dispenser totals, pricing information and programming information. The
ke pad’s plug is located in the electronics head behind the side 1 door.
See page 13 for instructions on how to connect the manager’s ke pad.
See the “Programming Preparation” section for a complete description
of ke pad functions for programming the dispenser. See the “How To
Operate” section for an explanation of ke pad use to read totals. See
the “Diagnostics” section for complete instructions for using the ke pad
to read error codes.
The Power Switch (see figure A.2).
The power switch is located on the power suppl board which is
accessed on side 1 of the dispenser, behind the electronic door. When
the switch is in the off position, main power is removed from the
electronic circuit boards. Service can be performed onl on the circuit
boards with the switch in the off position and the batter disconnected.
To totall disconnect power from the dispenser remove the terminal
strips from the dispenser or turn off the main breakers.
NOTE: When the power switch is turned off, the disp ays in the
dispenser remain i uminated for 30 seconds with power
from the 12-vo t battery. To turn off the battery power
press the battery disconnect switch (see figure A.2).
WARNING: To prevent e ectric shock, make sure the current is
off at the circuit breaker(s) and the breaker is ocked out
before doing any repairs or maintenance to the
dispenser.
The Error Messages (see figure A.3).
When an error message appears, there is a fault condition in the
dispenser. Use the dispenser diagnostics to determine the problem.
Please refer to page 39 “Diagnostics”.
NOTE: When an error message appears the dispenser can be
reset by turning any pump hand e on and back off.
The AC OFF Message (see figure A.4).
The AC OFF message occurs whenever the power has been
interrupted or turned off to the dispenser. If the power is turned off and
the AC OFF message does not appear, the charge is low on the 12-volt
batter . Recharge or replace the batter . Failure to replace the batter
could result in loss of dispenser electronic totals and stand alone
operating data.

The Tota s Switch (see figure A.6).
To enter the Totals Mode hold the black Access Magnet (see figure
A.5) over the left side of the Volume Displa (see figure A.6 for
location). After a few seconds “Prev Sale” will be displa ed on the PPV
Displa . At this point remove the magnet. This displa s the transaction
that transpired prior to the transaction that appears on the displa while
idle (Previous Sale). To view the Totals “tap” the magnet over the Reed
Switch until figure A.6 is displa ed on the PPV Displa . When the first
Mone totals appear remove the magnet. The PPV displa indicates the
first Mone total for Product 1. “Tap” the magnet over the Reed Switch
to view all totals from Modes 1, 2 and 26. See pages 10 and 11 for
Description of values seen b using the magnet.
Also, the Audit Trail information can be accessed b placing the magnet
in the same location. To gain access to the Audit Trail information hold
the magnet over the Reed Switch for a longer period of time after the
Totals Mode is displa ed. Once the data scrolls past the Totals Mode
the Audit Trail information will appear.
The Reca Switch (see figure A.6).
The Recall switch is similar to the Totals Switch except it is placed to
the left side of the Mone Displa . If power to the dispenser is
interrupted, the mone and volume totals can be accessed, as well as
the current sale information. Just hold it over the left side of the Mone
Displa for approximatel 2 seconds (see figure A.6). The last sale in
progress will displa for 30 seconds. Holding the magnet over the left
side of the Mone Displa successivel will bring up the last sale
information ever 60 seconds.
NOTE: If a pump hand e is turned on during this operation, the
disp ay returns to id e.
The E ectronic Door Key Locks (see figure A.7).
The ke locks for the electronic door are located on the right side of the
door (see figure A.7). The Ke locks for the lower door of the 2k Series
are located on the top of the door.
To lock the upper door, insert the ke in one of the locks and turn
clockwise until it stops. Repeat this step for the other lock. To lock the
lower door, turn the ke clockwise until it stops in one of the locks.
Repeat this step for the other lock. To unlock either door, turn the ke
counterclockwise until it stops.
The E ectro-Mechanica Tota izers (see figure A.8).
The electro-mechanical totalizers are located on the bottom left corner
of the Electronic Door. The total is cumulative and reads in whole unit
(gallon or liter) increments.

The Pump Hand e (see figure A.9).
The pump handles are located on the front of the dispenser. To
operate the dispenser, remove the nozzle from the holder and lift the
pump handle up for the on position. Push the pump handle down for
the off position. These are referred to as “lift to start nozzle” boots.
The Loca Preset Option (see figure A.10).
This option allows the customer or operator to pre-select the amount of
fuel to be purchased. At the pre-selected amount the dispenser will
automaticall stop. A fill-up feature is also present.
The SSP (Simp y Secure Payment) (see figure A.11).
This option allows the customer to pa for fuel with a credit card or debit
card and receive a receipt. The dispenser is connected to a financial
network through a POS s stem to allow approval of the cards at the
time the are inserted into the dispenser.
NOTE: The Loca Preset option and the SSP option are mutua y
exc usive. A dispenser may have either option, but cannot have
both options.

The explanations given in the menus listed in this section are intended
for use b the operator, manager or service technician.
How to Dispense Fue
To dispense fuel, follow this procedure:
1. Remove the nozzle from the holder.
2. Lift the handle to the on position (see figure B.1). Be sure the pump
is authorized b the console or is in stand alone.
3. Wait for the displa s to go to all 8’s and then all 0’s.
4. Squeeze the nozzle trigger to dispense fuel into the vehicle or
approved container.
5. Release the nozzle trigger when the desired amount of fuel has
been dispensed.
6. Lower the handle to the off position.
7. Put the nozzle in the holder.
NOTE: If the dispenser stops during the de ivery of fue , check the
disp ay for an error code. If one is present, refer to the
section in this manua entit ed “Diagnostics,” Page 39.
How to Dispense Fue With The Loca Preset Option
To dispense fuel with the local preset option, follow this procedure:
1. Press the [Mone ] button to change to Mone preset or the
[Volume] button to change to Volume preset (see figure B.2).
2. Using the 0 through 9 buttons on the preset ke pad, enter an
amount. If an error is made, press the [CANCEL] button and start
over.
3. Remove the nozzle from the holder.
4. Lift the handle to the on position.
NOTE: be sure the pump is authorized by the conso e or is in
stand a one.
NOTE: If an error is discovered at this point, the preset amount
can be changed before the f ow of fue . The preset amount
cannot be changed once f ow begins.
5. Squeeze the nozzle trigger to dispense fuel into the vehicle or
approved container.
6. Release the nozzle trigger when the dispenser stops the flow of
fuel.
7. Lower the handle to the off position.
8. Put the nozzle in the holder.
9. If the dispenser stops during deliver of fuel, refer to the section in
this manual titled “Diagnostics”, page 39.

How to Read the E ectro-mechanica Tota izer (see figure B.3).
The dispenser is equipped with a Electro-mechanical totalizer for each
hose which records the volume dispensed for each sale. The volume
recorded is an accumulative total that cannot be reset. The electro-
mechanical totalizers are located on the bottom left corner of the
Electronic Door. The total is cumulative and reads in whole unit (gallon
or liter) increments.
Note: Because of rounding methods used and the nature of electronic
totals versus an analog device such as an electro-mechanical totalizer,
electronic totals and electro-mechanical totals will rarel match exactl .

Connecting the Manager’s keypad for dispenser programming.
To enable the dispenser for programming:
1. Remove the ke pad from the plastic bag located on the inside of
the electronic enclosure.
2. Locate the plug for the ke pad (J1) located on the Displa Board ,
which is located on the backside of side 1 electronic door. The plug
is located on the right side of the Displa Board (see figure C.1).
3. Plug the ke pad into the plug observing the plug polarit . When the
ke pad is properl connected to the dispenser press [+/-] and
[Enter] simultaneousl for two seconds and the dispenser will enter
the Manager’s Mode. The dispenser’s displa will read ”Enter side
1”.
4. When the programming session is complete, press [+/-] and [Enter]
simultaneousl , until the displa returns to the last transaction.
Remove the ke pad from the plug and restore the ke pad to its
holder for future programming sessions.
NOTE: The keypad must be p ugged into Side 1 of the
Dispenser. P ugging the keypad into Side 2 wi not gain
access to Manager’s Mode.
NOTE: A nozz es must be hung up in their boots prior to
programming. If any nozz e from either side of the
dispenser is ifted then access to Manager’s Mode wi be
restricted.
NOTE: If the [+/-] and [Enter] buttons are not pressed prior to
unp ugging the Manager’s Keypad then the dispenser wi
remain in programming.

Manager’s Mode 01 - How to Read E ectronic Tota s
This Manager’s Mode allows the manager to read the electronic non-
resettable hose totals that accumulate in the dispenser for mone ,
volume, number of sales, and number of price changes.
NOTE: For instructions on operator / attendant access to
e ectronic tota s, see “How to Read E ectronic Tota s with the
Magnetic Reed Switch” on the fo owing page.
To read the money totals on the dispenser, follow this procedure:
1. Press the number 1 button and then the [MODE] button on the
Manager’s Ke pad. The Main Displa shows the total mone
amount. For example: If the total mone amount for the dispenser
is $1,234,567.89 (see figure 1.1). The PPV Displa reads “P 1 1.1”
for Product 1, Mone Total, Menu Code 1.
2. To read the mone totals for Hose 2 and the remaining hoses, press
the [ENTER] button or the number button for the hose (1,2,3,4). The
PPV Displa reads “P 2 1.1” for Product 2, Mone Total, Menu
Code 1 (see figure 1.2).
To read the volume totals on the dispenser, follow this procedure:
1. Press the [↓]
↓]↓]
↓] button (see figure 1.3). The Mone and Volume
Displa s indicates Hose A volume totals (see figure 1.4). The Main
Displa shows the total volume amount. For example: See figure
1.4 if the total volume amount for the dispenser is 234,567.890
gallons/liters. These totals are accumulative and cannot be
changed. The dispenser can carr the volume amount to three
decimal places for gallons and two decimal places for liters.
2. Press the [ENTER] button or the number button for the hose on the
ke pad to view remaining hose positions.
NOTE: To return to the money tota s, press the [↑]

keypad. Press the [↓]

↓] button to return to the vo ume tota s.
To read the total number of sales and total number of price changes,
follow this procedure:
1. Press the [+/-] button (see figure 1.3.) The Main Displa indicates
Product 1 counter totals (see figure 1.5 - on next page). The top line
of the displa shows the number of sales for Product 1. The sales
counter is incremented each time a sale is run on that nozzle. The
bottom line of the displa shows the number of price changes for
Product 1. The price change counter is incremented each time a
price is changed for that nozzle.
2. To read the counter totals for the remaining hoses, press the
[ENTER] button or the number buttons (1,2,3,4).
3. Press the [CANCEL] button to exit this menu.

How to Read E ectronic Tota s with the Magnetic Reed
Switch
The operator/attendant can use this method to read dail or weekl
electronic totals without opening the electronic head of the dispenser.
To read the Menu Code 1 totals with the Magnetic Reed witch, follow
this procedure:
1. To enter the totals mode hold the black Access Magnet over the left
side of the Volume Displa (see page 6 for location). When “Prev
Sale” displa s on the PPV Displa then remove the magnet. Next,
tap the magnet over the Reed Switch again and “P11.1” will be
displa ed in the PPV Displa to indicate the first Mone total for
Product 1 (see figure 1.1 on previous page).
NOTE: If the magnet does not get tapped over the eft side of the
Vo ume Disp ay for 30 seconds, the disp ay returns to the
id e screen and the sequence must be started over.
2. Tap the magnet over the left side of the Volume Displa again to
read the Volume Totals for Product 1. “P12.1” is displa ed in the
PPV Displa to indicate the first volume total for Product 1 (see
figure 1.4 on previous page).
3. Tap the magnet over the left side of the Volume Displa again to
read the Counters Totals (Number of Sales and Number of Price
Changes) for Product 1. “P13.1” is displa ed in the PPV Displa to
indicate the first Counter Totals for Product 1 (see figure 1.5).
NOTE: If E ectronic Tota izer Tota s (Mode 5) are being read or the
Shift Tota s (Mode 26), continue with Step 4. If not, wait 30
seconds for the disp ays to return to the id e mode, or ift a
pump hand e to the ON position to return to the id e mode.
4. Tap the magnet over the left side of the Volume Displa again and
the Mone Totals for Product 2 appear (see figure 1.1 on previous
page). Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the Product 2 totals and the
remaining hoses on this side of the dispenser.

Manager’s Mode 2 - How to Read E ectronic Tota izer Tota s
This Manager’s Mode allows the operator or manager to read the
Electronic Totalizer Totals. If the Manager did not enter a different
value in Manager’s Mode 5, this total should be the same as the
dispenser electronic totals.
To read the Electronic Totalizer Totals, follow this procedure:
1. Press the [2] Button and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad.
The Main Displa shows the electro-mechanical total (see figure
2.1). The total number is carried to three decimal places. The PPV
Displa reads “P 1.2” for Product 1 Electro-Mechanical Totalizer,
Menu Code 2.
2. To read the totals for the remaining electronic totalizers, press the
[ENTER] Button.
NOTE: See page 6 for instructions for reading Menu Code 2 tota s
with the Magnetic Reed Switch.
3. Press the [ENTER] button to see the Electronic Totalizer Total for
Product 2. Pressing the [ENTER] button again displa s the
Electronic Totalizer Total for Product 3.

The dispenser has a variet of Manager’s Modes that are accessed b using the manager’s ke pad.
Manager’s Modes 0, 1, and 2 are accessed b the attendant or the manager to read diagnostic error
codes or totals. The remaining Manager’s Modes are used b first entering an access code in
Manager’s Mode 3. Without the correct access code, the remaining Manager’s Modes are hidden. A
description of each Manager’s Mode is given below:

The software program for each new dispenser shipped from the factor is preprogrammed with default
settings in some of the Manager’s Modes. Some Manager’s Modes must be changed immediatel to
make the dispenser operational in our situation. See Initial Setup Sequence below. For our
convenience, the default listings are noted below:

SUGGESTED SETUP SEQUENCE
To program the dispenser’s memor for the first time or following a RAM memor clear, follow the
Manager’s Modes in order as the are listed in the Initial Setup sequence below. Each Manager’s Mode
can be programmed individuall . However, in order for the dispenser to operate properl , the initial
setup programming sequence must be followed. If not, the dispenser ma not operate properl because
of default settings or no data programmed. However, the Manager’s Modes are explained in the
operator’s manual in numerical order. Make sure the initial setup Manager’s Modes are programmed
before testing an dispenser operations. Failure to do so ma lead to difficult getting the dispenser to
operate properl .

Manager’s Mode 3 - Manager’s Access Code Entry
Manager’s Mode access is canceled when the Manager’s ke pad is
unplugged from the dispenser. If the Manager’s ke pad is removed
ou must re-enter the Manager’s Mode 3 manager’s access code to
regain programming access. Some Manager’s Modes must be
programmed on both Side 1 and Side 2. When programming is
completed for Side 1, be sure to program Side 2.
Access to Manager’s Modes 4 through 99 is gained b entering a four
digit access code. The software is set with an access code at the
factor of 2218. All dispensers covered in this manual are shipped with
this code. Manager’s Mode 3 must be used each time the Manager
wishes to access or program Manager’s Modes 4 through 99.
To access the Manager’s Mode, follow this procedure:
1. Press the [3] button and then the [MODE] button on the Manager’s
ke pad. The displa shown in figure 3.1 appears.
2. Enter the default number 2218. Four dashes appear in the displa .
3. Press the [ENTER] button. When access is gained, the dashes
disappear and the PPV Displa appears as in figure 3.2. If the
dashes do not appear, the access code entered did not match the
code stored in memor . Press the [CANCEL] button and repeat
steps 1, 2, and 3.
4. When access is gained, press the [CANCEL] button to exit. It is
necessar to exit Manager’s Mode 3 before the remaining protected
menus can be accessed. The displa shown in figure 3.3 appears
when the cancel button is pressed.
How to Change the 4-digit Manager’s Access Code.
A new access code can also be assigned in Manager’s Mode 3.
To assign a new access code, follow this procedure:
CAUTION: To avoid having to zero the memory on the CPU, make
sure you record the new access code exact y as it is
programmed into the dispenser.
1. Press the [3] button and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad.
2. Press the default number 2218 or the previousl stored access
code. Four dashes appear in the volume displa .
3. Press the [ENTER] button. If access is gained, the four dashes
disappear and the PPV displa appears as in figure 3.2. If the
dashes do not move, an error was made entering the access code.
Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4. Do NOT press enter! If enter is pressed,
the new access code will be 0000!
4. Press the [↑] button (see figure 3.4). The displa show all zeros
(see figure 3.5).
5. Enter a new four digit number on the ke pad. The number appears
in the volume displa . Make sure the number displa ed is correct.
Record the number chosen as the access code.
6. Press the ENTER button to save the new access code.
7. Test the new access code.

To test the access code, follow this procedure:
1. Put the dispenser in the “Operate” mode b pressing the [↑], [↓] and [+/-] buttons and then un-
plugging the manager’s ke pad from the dispenser. Then re-enter the “Attendant” mode b plugging
the ke board back in and pressing the [↑], [↓] and [+/-] Buttons.
2. Press [ENTER] for Side 1.
3. Press the [3] button and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad.
4. Press the new four digit access number. Four dashes appear in the volume displa .
5. Press the [ENTER] button. If access is gained, the four dashes disappear and the PPV Displa
appears as in figure 3.2 (on previous page). If the dashes do not appear, an error was made.
Repeat Steps 1 through 4.
NOTE: If you make a mistake or ose you new pass code the pumps main memory wi have to be
zeroed to regain access to tota s information and programming menus. P ease ca
you Bennett authorized service technician to zero the dispenser’s main menu and return
the pass code to 2218. This is not a warranty paid service ca .

Manager’s Mode 4 - How To Program Price Per Vo ume
NOTE: Access code (Menu 3) must be entered into the pump and
the PPV disp ay must indicate dashes before this mode
may be entered.
To program price per volume data, follow this procedure:
1. Press the [4] button and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad.
The individual PPV Displa for Product 1 (see figure 4.1). The Main
Displa shows that Product 1 in Code 4 is active.
2. Use the 0 through 9 buttons on the ke pad to enter the price for
Product 1.
3. When the first digit of the new price is entered the Main Displa
zeros and indicates the new digit in the right most digit. (The PPV
Displa continues to flash the old price.) When the correct price
appears in Main Displa , press the [ENTER] button. The PPV
Displa now contains the new price (see figure 4.2).
NOTE: If an error is made, press the buttons on the keypad unti
the correct price appears in the PPV Disp ay.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the remaining prices to be set. The
dispenser onl displa s the number of hoses selected in Menu 7.
5. Press the [CANCEL] button to exit this Manager’s Mode.
6. If initial programming of a dispenser with two fueling positions is
being performed, be sure to program side 2.

Manager’s Mode 5 - How to Enter the E ectronic Tota izer Va ues
The dispenser can accumulate and store a value for the volume
passing through the mechanical totalizer. A beginning value for the
electronic totalizer is required for a starting point (from the mechanical
totalizers). Use this Manager’s Mode to enter a new meter total value.
This value can be reset at an time.
If monthl , weekl , or dail totals are required, enter this Manager’s
Mode and zero the total b pressing the [0] button until all meter totals
are zero. At the end of the period ou have selected for gathering
totals, record the total value and zero the totals again. Another use for
this Manager’s Mode is to verif totals on the mechanical totalizer. If
the mechanical totalizer is disconnected for an reason or becomes
inoperable, Manager’s Mode 5 will still record meter volume totals.
To enter a new value for the meter totals, follow this procedure:
1. After the Manager’s Mode has been accessed, press the [5] button
and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad. A volume amount
appears in the sales/volume displa (see figure 5.1). The “P1”
stands for the Product 1 meter total. The “.5” means the dispenser
is in Manager’s Mode 5.
2. Use the 0 through 9 buttons on the ke pad to enter the new meter
volume value from the mechanical totalizers. When the first new
number is pressed the volume displa zeros and begins rotating the
new total into the displa .
3. Press the [ENTER] button to save the new value. The Main Displa
moves to the next meter total (Product 2). The PPV Displa moves
to Product 2 meter totals (see figure 5.2). Repeat this sequence for
remaining products. Use the [ENTER] button to advance or review
the meter totals.
4. Press the [CANCEL] button to exit this Manager’s Mode.
5. If initial programming of a dispenser with two fueling positions is
being performed, be sure to program the side 2.

Manager’s Mode 6 - How to Read Settings or Speed Program the
Dispenser
When programming the dispenser is completed, Manager’s Mode 6 is a
quick wa to review the more common settings. After ou become
familiar with programming the dispenser, this Manager’s Mode can also
be used to program the more common settings for the dispenser
without having to enter each menu.
To review or speed program the Manager’s Mode settings, follow this
procedure:
1. Press the [6] button and then the [MODE] button on the ke pad.
The Main Displa shows the first setting which is how man Sides
in Code 7 (see figure 6.1). Press [ENTER] and the displa shows
the number of grades that were set in Code 7 (see figure 6.2).
2. Press [ENTER] a few more times and the displa moves to Code 8,
decimal settings. The remaining codes are displa ed b continuing
to press [ENTER]. Code 7 through Code 26 can be displa ed or
programmed in this Manager’s Mode.
3. Press the [CANCEL] button to exit this Manager’s Mode.
