PCI SSC’s approval only applies to PEDs that are identical to the PED tested by a PCI Security Standards Council
recognized laboratory. If any aspect of the PED is different from that which was tested by the laboratory - even if the
PED conforms to the basic product description contained the letter, then the PED model should not be considered
approved, nor promoted as approved. For example, if a PED contains firmware, software, or physical construction that
has the same name or model number as those tested by the laboratory, but in fact are not identical to those PED

For safe installation of this equipment, read and understand all dangers, warnings, and cautionary information. Save
this safety information in a readily accessible location. Look for the following warnings throughout the manual:
Red and White “DANGER” means: If you do not follow the instructions, severe injury or death will occur.
Orange and Black “WARNING” means: If you do not follow the instructions, severe injury or death can occur.
Yellow and Black “CAUTION” means: If you do not follow the instructions, damage can occur to the dispenser.
Blue and White “IMPORTANT” means: Helpful tips and other recommendations on equipment installation,

DURING INSTALLATION, SERVICE, OR ANY MAINTENANCE I.E., CHANGING FILTERS.
WARNING ADVERTENCIA MISE EN GARDE
You must have training in the installation, service, or maintenance of this equipment (dispenser,
pump, console, control box, or submerged pump) before working on it. Maintenance repairs must
be done by authorized personnel only. Warranty work may only be performed by Bennett certified
technicians.
To prevent electric shock, keep the electrical parts of the dispenser dry.
Electronic components are static sensitive. Use proper static precautions (e.g. static straps) before
working on the equipment.
The emergency shut-off valve (also called the fire valve, shear valve, or impact valve) must be
closed when service or maintenance is performed on this equipment.
You must have training in the operation and programming of this dispenser before using it. READ
THE OPERATORS MANUAL.
Make sure this equipment is correctly grounded. Failure to do will cause injury or damage
equipment or improper operation. Improper grounding voids the warranty.
When anchoring the dispenser, always level the dispenser with shims before bolting to the island.
DO NOT shim the middle of base rails to bolt down the dispenser.

Do not drill holes in fuel dispensers. Holes can cause failure of the electronic equipment. THE
WARRANTY WILL BECOME VOID. Use only adhesive backed sign mounting brackets.

transporting, wiring, and start-up instructions. Please refer to the original manufacturer’s installation instructions for
proper installation for aboveground and underground liquid storage systems, shear valves, hoses, and breakaways.

Recommended Equipment and Materials
IMPORTANT: Any alternative fuel dispenser must only use UL (Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc.) Listed
equipment (hoses, nozzles, shear valves, filters, pipe sealants, and breakaways) for fueling.

DANGER: IMPACT SAFETY VALVES ARE TO BE INSTALLED WITH SHEAR SECTION IN LINE WITH
SURFACE OF ISLAND WITHIN + ¾”. DEPENDING ON VALVE TO BE USED A LONGER OR
SHORTER INLET NIPPLE MAY BE REQUESTED.
CAUTION: Dispenser must be installed with provisions for expansion relief, which will relive at
pressures not exceeding 50psi (345MPa). Do not use line check valve between dispenser
and tank unless provided with relief valve.
CAUTION: Use only UL Listed Rigid metal conduit and UL listed sealing fittings with conductor seals.

Determine the model number of the dispenser from the serial tag located inside the unit on side 1 on the electronics
deck. Utilizing the chart below determine the features of the dispenser to be installed. Understanding the features of
the dispenser to be installed will be helpful in understanding the proper installation of the dispenser.

Determining the Number of Product Supply Pipes Needed
Determine the dispenser’s model number from the serial tag located on side 1 inside the unit on the deck. Locate the
model number in the table below to determine the number of product pipes required.
Step 1 Determine the type of supply line needed from the model number’s 10th position. If the model number is
2412FS-2XXR (Note the R) the dispenser will require a submerged pump and pressurized supply line for each
product. If the model number is 2412FS-2XXS (Note the S) the pump will require a suction supply line for
each product.
Step 2 Determine the number of product pipes required by finding the model number below. Note: The use of X
in the model number indicates a field where the entry in not important to this discussion.

Determining the Correct Position of the Product Supply Pipes
The following chart indicates the relationship of the product inlets to the nozzle boots. Find the model number of the
dispenser you are installing and determine the number of product inlets and their location. Exact inlet locations can
be found on the base diagrams (footprints) later in this manual. Note: UL Listed ethanol equipment must be used if
an alternative fuel product is being dispensed.

Please read these instructions carefully and read all tags attached to the dispenser before starting installation. A
dispenser that is not properly installed will not perform properly and will void the limited warranty. All other
equipment manufacture’s installation instructions must be followed. Bennett Pump does not provide other
manufacture’s installation instructions and are not responsible for any potential problems
Installation must be in accordance with the National Fire Protection Agency NFPA 70: National Electrical Code (NEC),
NFPA 30A: Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages, NFPA 30: Flammable and Combustible Liquids
Code, International Fire Code (IFC), and all state and local codes.

Aboveground Tank Installation Requirements
Note: Always test new and used aboveground tanks prior to use. Tank testing should be done by a qualified
professional. Refer to the Environmental Protection Agency for Aboveground Tank Installations for more
information.

Installation of Aboveground Storage Systems for Motor Vehicle Fueling” from the Petroleum Equipment Institute, P.O.
Box 2380, Tulsa, OK 74101 or at http://www.pei.org.
When a new dispenser is attached to an old aboveground installation, the tanks should be cleaned and tested for
leaks. Any water accumulation in the tank must be removed. Bennett Pump is not responsible for any damage to the
dispenser or for improper operation due to accidents, abuse, or faulty installation. We highly recommend installing
new wires in the underground metal conduits to validate the equipment warranty.
An Underwriters (U.L.) Listed Pressure Regulating Valve designed for under-the-pump mounting is installed for each
pumping unit according to the valve manufacturer’s instructions. Note: The pressure regulating valve hose should be
at no longer than 14 feet.
Any additional valves suggested by the Pressure Regulating Valve manufacturer are to be installed, maintained, and
tested according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Underground Installation Requirements
Note: Never install tanks in ground containing chemicals or abrasive materials that will corrode the tank.
All installation specifications may vary from different locations. In all cases, the installation must be in accordance with
all National Electrical Codes, State, and Local Codes.
All installations must be performed by a technician who is trained in accordance to all codes, standards, and
regulations.
Installation of the Bennett product and all accessories (i.e. Nozzles, Hoses, and Breakaways) must be performed by a
technician who is trained and licensed in accordance to all codes, standards, and regulations.

When a new dispenser is attached to an old underground installation, the tanks should be cleaned and tested for
leaks. Any water accumulation in the tank must be removed. Bennett Pump is not responsible for any damage to the
dispenser or for improper operation due to accidents, abuse, or faulty installation. We require installing new wires in
the underground metal conduits to validate the equipment warranty.
The underground storage tanks for self-contained dispensers should be as close to the dispenser as possible. In hot
climates or high altitudes, the distance should be very close to prevent vapor lock. The total length of horizontal
piping between the self-contained dispenser and the underground storage tank should be no more than 60 feet.
Always test new tanks before placing them in the ground. Tank testing should be done by a qualified processions.
Never install tanks in ground containing chemicals or abrasive materials that will corrode the tank.
Dispenser Mounting Instructions
Note: Determine the correct position of the product supply pipes and inlets before mounting and anchoring the
dispenser to the island. Exact inlet locations can be found on the footprint diagrams on the following pages.
1. Anchor the dispenser to the island with a minimum of four bolts and a minimum diameter of ½ in. (1.27 cm)
through the base frame. Note: When anchoring the dispenser, always level the dispenser with shims before
bolting to the island. DO NOT shim middle of the base rails to bolt down the dispenser. Shim only near bolts.
2. Place the shims at the location of the anchor bolts so the dispenser frame is not distorted when the anchor bolts
are tightened down. NOTE: THE DISPENSER MUST BE BOLTED TO THE ISLAND. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

Footprint for 2400 Model / Suction Standard Flow Rates
Read all CAUTION and DANGER statements below before product installation. Note: The footprint for the 2400
Model / Suction Standard Flow Rates (133064-P5006s1 Rev C) may not appear clear in this manual or when printed.
Refer to drawing located inside the dispenser or on the CD-ROM/USB located inside the dispenser’s electrical
enclosure.
CAUTION: Dispenser must be installed with a suitable power operated pump incorporating a
provision for expansion relief, which will relive at pressures not to exceed 50psi (345mPa).
CAUTION: Do not use line check valve between dispenser and tank unless provided with relief valve.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
a. Inlet piping shall be minimum Schedule 40 steel pipe with UL Listed union installed prior to installation into
the dispenser inlet. All joints to be made using the appropriate pipe joint sealing compound classified for the
type of fuel used.
b. Installation must be in accordance with National Electric Code (NFPA 70), Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities
and Repair Garages Code (NFPA 30A), and all State & Local Codes.
c. Use only Underwriters Listed threaded rigid metal conduit and listed sealing fittings for conductor seals.
d. Field connections are done in upper electrical enclosure. Wire must extend 72” [1828 mm] above base of

Read all CAUTION and DANGER statements below before product installation. Note: The footprint for the 2400
Model / Remote Standard Flow Rates (133064-P5006s2 Rev C) may not appear clear in this manual or when printed.
Refer to drawing located inside the dispenser or on the CD-ROM/USB located inside the dispenser’s electrical
enclosure.
CAUTION: Dispenser must be installed with provisions for expansion relief, which will relive at
pressures not to exceed 50psi (345mPa).
CAUTION: Do not use line check valve between dispenser and tank unless provided with relief valve.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
a. Inlet piping shall be minimum Schedule 40 steel pipe with UL Listed union installed prior to installation into
the dispenser inlet. All joints to be made using the appropriate pipe joint sealing compound classified for the
type of fuel used.
b. Installation must be in accordance with National Electric Code (NFPA 70), Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities
and Repair Garages Code (NFPA 30A), and all State & Local Codes.
c. Impact Safety Valves are to be installed with shear section in line with surface of island within + or –¾” [19
mm].
d. Use only Underwriters Listed threaded rigid metal conduit and listed sealing fittings for conductor seals.
e. Field connections are done in upper electrical enclosure. Wire must extend 72” [1828 mm] above base of
dispenser to make electrical connections (24” [610 mm] if optional junction box installed).
