The assembly instruction describes how to install a VCH 08.1 with a STOP-
button.
For further information, please refer to the project planning manual

Target Group
All installation work related to the automation system may only be carried
out by qualified personnel (e.g. electricity specialists, electrical engineers).
The personnel installing the device must be qualified to work with the auto-
mation system.
Safety Component according to Machinery Directive
This device is a safety component or part of the safety circuit! Please read
and comply with the safety instructions specified in the respective manual
before installing and setting the device up.
Comply with the regulations of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Recon-
cile the safety components to the EN ISO 13849-1, EN ISO 13850 standards.
A risk assessment according to EN ISO 14121-1 determines the safety cate-
gory (see EN 60204-1). Check whether further standards must be complied
with.

Unpacking
Unpack all items and check the contents for visible damages in transit. Also
check, whether the delivery corresponds to the data on the delivery note.
Please contact the Bosch Rexroth sales department immediately when notic-
ing discrepancies or damages in transit.

The IndraControl VCH 08.1 hand-held terminal is connected to the automa-
tion system via the IndraControl VAC 30.2 connection module. The operator
has to ensure that the system, in particular the safety devices, are in a
proper condition before commissioning the IndraControl VCH 08.1. The sys-
tem and the safety devices are to be checked in regular intervals during the
operation.
Please ensure that the STOP button is NOT pressed prior to com-
missioning the IndraControl VCH 08.1.
Connecting the IndraControl VCH 08.1 with pressed STOP button
results in a system shut-down.
To connect the IndraControl VCH 08.1, put the connector effortlessly on the
flange of the IndraControl VAC 30.2 connection module.
Please ensure that the N position of the connection is correct. Only if the
connector engages properly, the correct position is reached. Now turn the
knurled nut to the flange.
While the connector is screwed on, a relay activates the STOP but-
ton; the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is supplied with voltage.
To ensure an optimal connection of the contacts and to attain the
specified protection class, the knurled nut has to be screwed on
until the rubber seal is completely covered and the dead stop is
reached.
Device variants with short cable have to be connected to the VAC 30.2 con-
nection module via an extension cable of type RKS.
