Intended use
TheCPX−FB33 and CPX−M−FB34 busnodes documented
in thisdescription areonly intended for use as participants
(I/Odevice) on PROFINET IO.
Thebusnodes can beused in three different operating
modes:
RemoteI/O
RemoteController
RemoteI/Owith additional Prioritised Start−up function,
also called Fast Start−up" (FSU)
TheFSU operating modeprovides faster start−up of theCPX
system.
However thisoperating modeissubject torestrictionsin the
areas of commissioning and parametrisation. Refer tothe
corresponding chaptersfor moreinformation.
TheCPX terminal may only beused as follows:
Asintended in industrial applications
In original statuswithout unauthorised modifications;
only theconversionsor modificationsdescribed in the
documentation supplied with theproduct arepermitted
In perfect technical condition
Thelimit values specified for pressures, temperatures, electri
cal data, torques etc. must not beexceeded.
If conventional accessory componentssuch as sensorsand
actuatorsareconnected, thespecified limitsfor pressures,
temperatures, electrical data, torques etc. must not beex
ceeded.

Observealso thestandardsspecified in therelevant chapters,
as well as national and local laws and technical regulations.
Warning
·Use only PELV circuits according toIEC/DIN EN 60204−1
(protectiveextra−low voltage, PELV) for theelectric
power supply.
·Also comply with thegeneral requirementsfor PELV
circuitslaid down in IEC/DIN EN 60204−1.
·Use only power packs which guarantee reliable electri
cal isolation of theoperating voltageaccording to
IEC/DIN EN 60204−1.
By theuse of PELV circuits, protection against electricshock
(protection against direct andindirectcontact) isguaranteed
in accordance with IEC/DIN EN 60204−1(electrical equipment
of machines, general requirements).
When implementing an emergency stop function, observethe
measures in sections2.3and 3.1.

Thismanual isintended exclusively for technicianstrained in
control and automation technology whohaveexperience in
installing, commissioning, programming and diagnosing pro
grammable logiccontrollers(PLC) and fieldbussystems.

1.1 General instructions for installation
Warning
Beforecarrying out installation and maintenance work,
switch off thefollowing:
Thecompressed air supply
Theoperating voltagesupply for theelectronics/sensors
Theload voltagesupply for theoutputs/valves
You can thereby avoid:
Uncontrolled movementsof loose tubing
Unexpected movementsof theconnected actuators
 Undefined switching states of theelectroniccomponents
Caution
TheCPX busnodecontainselectrostatically sensitive
devices.
·For thisreason, donot touch any components.
·Observethehandling specificationsfor electrostatically
sensitivedevices.
You will thereby avoid operativemalfunctionsand damageto
theelectronics.
Information on mounting theCPX terminal can befound in the
CPX system manual (P.BE−CPX−SYS−..).

1.3 Dismantling and mounting
Thebusnodeisinstalled in an interlinking block of theCPX
terminal (see Fig.1/2).
Dismantling Dismantle thebusnodeas follows:
1. Undothefour screws of thebusnodewith aTorx screw
driver sizeT10.
2.Pull thebusnodecarefully and without tilting away from
thecontact rails of theinterlinking block.

Note
Alwaysuse screws appropriatetothematerial from which
theinterlinking block ismade(metal or plastic):
 With plastic interlinking blocks: thread−cutting screws
 With metal interlinking blocks: screws with metric
thread
When thebusnodeisordered as aseparatepart, both screw
types areincluded in delivery.
Mounting Mount thebusnodeas follows:
1.Check gasket and sealing surfaces.
2.Place thebusnodein theinterlinking block without
tilting.
3.Push thebusnodecarefully intotheinterlinking block
as far as possible.
4. Place thescrews so that theexisting threadscan beused.
5. Tighten thescrews with aTorx screwdriver sizeT10 to
torque0.9... 1.1Nm.
