1.3. Precautionsfor safety

Centrifugalseparatorsare dangerous because theyuse ahigh-speedrotatingbody.
Safetyprecautionsare to preventpersonalinjury,productdamage,
and breakdownfrom possibledangersduringuse.
Pleaseobserveallsafetymeasuresdescribedin thismanual.
1. Thecentrifugemust be installed horizontally on alevel surface.If theshaftis operatedin an
inclinedstate,vibration or damageto thedevice mayoccur.
2. Before connectingthecentrifugeto power,check thevoltageto be used.If it is connected
withthewrong voltage,it maycause damageto thedeviceand personalinjury.
3. Useonlytherotorandrecommendedpartsandaccessories providedby HanilScientificInc.
We are notresponsibleforany damageto thedeviceor accidentsresultingfrom theuse of
non-recommendedpartsandaccessories.
4. Thesamplemust be usedin acentrifugalseparatortube,and must be usedwithinthe
maximumxg valueof thetube.
5. In thecase of centrifugingdangeroussubstances (pathogenic,toxic,radioactive substances,
etc.),it is necessaryto sufficientlygraspthephysicalproperties of thesubstanceandtake
necessarysafetymeasures.
6. If thecentrifugeis contaminatedwithpathogenic,toxicor radioactive substances,the
contaminantsmust be thoroughlyremovedandnecessarymeasuressuchas ventilation or
isolationmust be considered.
7. Substancesthat cangeneratevolatile or explosive vaporscannotbe centrifuged.
8. Whentherotorcomesinto contactwith cleaningsolutionssuchas strongacidsor strong
basesor cesium/silver/salt,it will causeachemicalreaction andcorrosion willbegin.
9. Therotorchambermust be kept dry at alltimesbeforeusingthecentrifuge.
10. Do not exceed the maximum RPM / RCF. If therotoris subjectedto acentrifugalforce that
exceedstheallowablerotation limit,therotorwillbe deformedanddamaged.
11. Before centrifugation,thesamplemustbe balanced.
12. It is forbiddento touch or movetherotatingrotor.
13. Therotormustbe accuratelyfixedto therotating shaft,andtherotorusedwiththerotorlid
must be securelyfastened. If thelid comesoffduringrotation,it maycauseserious
damageto the Centrifuge, sample, and product.
14. Do not block the air ventilation for proper air flow which keep the centrifuge from overheating.
15. Do not putanyobjectsintotheopeningsof thecentrifuge.
16. Never useatoolto removethelidor guard.
17. Whenrequestingrepair,theusermustremovecontaminantsin advance.
18. Maintenancemust be performedby atechnicianauthorized by HanilScientificInc.
19. Forproductrepair, contacttheplaceof purchase.
20. Whenoperatingaccordingto theIEC61010-2-020 standard, thesafetydistance (30cm)
aroundthecentrifugemustbe observed for smoothinstrumentoperation andthesafety of
usersandthe surroundingenvironment.
21. Turnoffthedevice switchafter usingthedevice.
22. Disconnectandstorethepowercord fromthepower outlet before cleaning themachineor
whennotin useforalongtime.

3. Productinstallation
3-1.Unpacking

1. Afterpurchasingthecentrifuge,opentheboxandcheckthecomponents.
Centrifuge(T04) / Rotor ( AO-15 / 10-12 ) / UserManual/AC powercord/Emergencylid
opening tool/Rotorlocking tool/ Grease
2. Pressthepowerswitchbutton[I/O]locatedon therightsideof the mainunitin
the ON direction[I].
▶Theset valueusedin provious operation will be displayedwith abeepsound.
▶Whenthedeviceis shipped,thedefault valueis Max.rpm4,000, 10 minutes.
3-2. Powerconnection
1. ConnecttheAC powercordto thepowersocketlocatedon thebackof the mainbodyand
connectthepowerplug to theoutlet.
▶Pleasecheckthe ratedvoltageto be used.
Whenusingthe equipment, if thevoltagechangesby morethan±10%fromthe
standardvoltage,precisereliabilitycannotbe obtained. In addition,sinceit may
damagevariouspartsin thecentrifuge,youmustensurethatconstantpoweris
supplied.

1. Beforeassemblingtherotor,removedirtor moisture fromthemotorshaftandrotor
with adrycloth.
2. Aftermountingtherotorto thecentralshaftin thechamber,
Insert provided 1) Washer (

DO NOT OPERATE THE CENTRIFUGE BEFORE REMOVING
THE BUFFER INSTALLED INSIDE THE CHAMBER!
There is a Buffer inside the chamber holding the rotor stable when released.
The buffer must be removed before operating the Centrifuge.
Used to openthelid.When the Lid is closed,thelampis off,andwhen it is open,
thelampis turnedon.
1. Whenthelid is closed(The lampis off),press[Open].
▶The Lid lamplightsup when the Lid is open.

Then, Fix the rotor using the provided Rotor
Locking Tool.
▶Rotormounting:clockwiserotation
▶Rotorremoval:counterclockwiserotation
▶Holdtherotorwith onehandandturntherotorlockingtoolwith theotherto fixor remove.

Beforeuse,makesurethattherotoris firmlyconnected to themotorshaft.
3.5 Tubemounting

3. Mount the 15ml stainless steel sleeve into all holes
of the rotor.
▶Before operation, make sure to mount all the sleeves
on the rotor.
1. Beforeinsertingthesampletube,checkthatthereis no foreignmatteror moisture inside
therotorholeor bucket.
▶If thereis anyforeignmatteror moisture,be sureto removeit with adrycloth.
▶Load samples in the tubes before placing the tubes into the rotor holes.
·Usethe tube forcentrifugerecommendedby HanilScientificInc,anddo notuseit
abovethe allowablestandardafter checkingthe maximumRCFvalueforeachtube.
·Samples should be accuratelymeasuredin the sameamount/densityandplacedin
eachtube,thenthe tubesmustbe mountedon the rotorso thattheyaresymmetrical
to eachother.At this time,if the volumeof the sampleto be symmetricalis different,
strong vibration may occur whenthe rotorrotatesor seriousdamageto the rotorand
motormay occur.
·Weightbalanceshouldbe performedto minimizethedifferencein weightof the
tubescontainingthesample.
·Even if the numberof tubes is the same, theywill be asymmetricalaccordingto their
positions,so wheninsertingtubesintocentrifugaltubesfacing eachother,youmust
alsocheckthe positions.If the numberof tubesis notsymmetrical,youmustusean
extratube andinsertit to balancethe sameweightas the othertubes.

2. Sampletubes mustbe placedandmountedsymmetrically.
▶The tube filledwith thesampleshould have no differencein weight
andthedensityshouldbe symmetricallyandevenlyarranged.
▶Tubesforcentrifugesmust not exceed Max RCF value. It shouldbe
usedafter checkingtheRCFvalueoftubes.

4. How to use
□RPM/RCF
Therotationspeedis indicatedin RPM/RCF,andmutualconversionis possibleby pressingtheRPM/
RCFbutton.
Control interval : 1
□Time
Thetime canbe setin “minute”and“second”,andup to 99 minutes59 secondsor continuousoperation
is possible.
Control interval : 1 Min / 1 Sec
□START/STOP
It is usedto startandstop centrifugation.
Control interval : 1
□PROG
Up to 10 programscanbe savedandcanbe called up everytime theyareused.
□Open
Whenthelid is closed,youcanopen thelid.

2. Enterthesetting valueusingthe[▲/▼] key andpress [RPM/RCF].
▶Press [RPM/RCF] to savethesetspeedvalue.
▶RPM/RCFvalueis changedin units of
10 rpm/1xg.
▶Pressing the [▲/▼] button for more
than 5 seconds will change in units of
100rpm/10xg.
▶If youdo notenterthesetting valuefor15 seconds,thesettingmodeis canceled.
4.2 Speedsetting

Thespeedsetting valueis displayedas RPMandRCF,andis automaticallycalculated
through interlocking.
1. Press [RPM/RCF]
▶Press Once/Twice
→RPM/RCF settingmode
▶Enteringthesettingmode,RPM / RCF
lamp will turn on.

4.3 Time setting
The time can be set in "minute" and "second", up to 99 minutes 59 seconds or continuous
operation (00 minutes 00 seconds setting) is possible.
1. Press [Time].
▶pressing [Time] Once/Twice
→ "Minuite"/"Second" input mode
▶Entering the setting mode, Min / Sec
lamp will turn on.
2. Enter the setting value using the [▲/▼] key and press [Time].
▶Min/Sec can be changed 1min/1sec
▶Pressing the [▲/▼] button for more
than 5 seconds will change in units
of 10min / 10sec.
▶If you do not enter the setting value for 15 seconds, the setting mode is canceled.

▶Operation starts only when the lid is closed.
▶During operation
→[Start/Stop] lamp is turned on.
4.4Start / Stop

1. Start
1. After setting the speed and time,
etc., press the [Start/Stop] button.
2. Stop
1. If you want to end the operation, press the [Start/Stop] button.
▶During deceleration
→[Start/Stop] lamp is turned off.
▶End of operation
→[Start/Stop] lamp is turned off.
▶Final stop
→ When operation is stopped, the equipment will beep 10 times for 20 seconds and the
lid will open.
Can be used to start or stop operation.
During operation, the Start/Stop lamp is indicated by lighting up.

Program storage: When operating the device under various conditions, setting values such as
speed and time can be saved in advance and then recalled and used immediately as needed.
1. After setting the program that needs to
be saved, press the [PROG] button for
more than 3 seconds.
▶Display → Save flashing
2. Using the [▲/▼] key, select the program number and press [PROG] again.

2. Push the provided Emergency Door Open
Tool vertically.
▶Lid opens manually with a “click” sound.
4.6Program call
Program call: It is designed to call the program stored between 00 and 10.
1. Press [PROG] once.
▶Display→ CALL flashing
4.7 Manual lid opening in case of emergency
This method is used to remove the sample
mounted on the rotor when the lid cannot be
opened automatically because the main body
is not supplied with power.

1. After confirming that the inner rotor has
completely stopped rotating, check the
hole at the end of the arrow direction of
the “Emergency Door Open” label on the
left side of the equipment.

Chamber
1. Afteruse,alwaysdrytheinsideof thechamber.
2. If the chamberis contaminated,wipewith amild detergentandwipewith asoftclothto
preventmoisture.
Rotor
1. If an acid,basicsolution,or solutionspillsfromthe tube, immediately wipeit offwith asoft cloth
dampenedwith warmwaterandstorein adryplace.
2. Thetube holeof the Fixed Anglerotoror thebucketof therotorshouldbe checked for
contaminationof thesolutionfromtime to time andkeptdry.It is recommendedto storeit upside
downwhennotin usefor alongtime.

Mainbody
1. If theexterioris contaminated,washit with soapywateron asoft clothandwipeit with adry
clothto preventmoisture fromremaining.
2. Do notusechemicalssuchas alcohol,benzene,benzolas theymaydamageit.
3. Be carefulnotto scratchthesurfacewhilecleaningor movingtheexternalsurface.
▶If the surfaceis scratched,the unit may be exposed to rust.
▶If rustis formed by leavingit wetforalongtime,removeit with aneutraldetergentandwipeit
with adrycloth.
Shaft
1. If rotationis unstabledue to foreignsubstanceson theshaft,it maycauseimbalancedue to
high-speedrotation,soit mustbe keptclean at alltimes.
2. Aftercompletingtheexperiment, removetherotorfromtherotatingshaft,dry it with adrycloth,
andkeepit dry.
3. If the rotordoesnotseparatefromtherotatingshaft,do notremovetherotorwith excessive
force, contactaservicecenter.

6. Problem solving
Symptom

If Lidis notclosed,it will notwork.Referto [3.3LidOpen]and
checkthe Lidstatusof thelampandclosetheLidwell.
Check if thereis anyforeignsubstanceon thelid clasp,
if thereis,removetheforeignsubstanceandclosethelid.
If theinstallationpositionof the mainbody is unstable,checkthe
level of the mainbody andwhether it is fixed,andre-installit
horizontallyon aflatsurface.
If therotorinstallationis poor,checkthe exteriorof therotorafter
removingtherotorandstopusingtherotorimmediatelyif thereis
anydamage.Also,if the mountingmethodis wrong,referto [3.4
RotorMountingandRemoval]to installtherotorcorrectly.
If thetubeinsertionis asymmetrical or theweightis notcorrect,
referto [3.5Mountingthesampletube]to checkthetubeweight
andinsertit symmetrically.
Vibrationandnoise
