BASIC OPERATION
1. To wake up the remote, simply pick it up or press STOP. The last group(s)
selected will be highlighted and active.
2. Press “all” or groups 1 – 6 to select specific shade(s) to move. Selected
group button(s) will light to show they are selected.
3. Multiple group buttons may be selected at a time.
4. To deselect a group, press the group button again. The backlight for that
group button will go out.
5. Press CLOSE to lower the selected shade(s).
6. Press OPEN to raise the selected shade(s).
7. Press STOP to stop the shade’s movement anywhere along its travel.
8. While a shade is in motion, press the opposite of shade motion (OPEN or
CLOSE) to reverse direction
9. Press FAVORITE to send selected shade(s) to your preset “favourite”
position. Refer to the PowerView® Motorization Remote Control Guide on
how to set a favourite position
TOP DOWN/BOTTOM UP & DAY/NIGHT OPERATION
1. Press CLOSE to lower the bottom rail, closing the shade.
2. Press the left arrow to lower the middle rail. This opens the shade top-
down on a Top-Down/Bottom-Up shade or covers the window with the top
fabric panel on a Day/Night shade. (If the bottom rail is not fully lowered,
pressing this button will lower the bottom rail first then lower the middle rail.)
3. Press the right arrow to raise the middle rail. This closes the shade bottom-
up on a Top-Down/Bottom-Up shade or covers the window with the
bottom fabric panel on a Day/Night shade.
4. Press OPEN to raise the bottom rail, opening the shade bottom-up. (If the
middle rail is not fully raised, pressing this button will raise the middle rail first
then raise the bottom rail.)
5. Press STOP to stop shade movement anywhere along the shade’s travel.

INSTALLATION
MATERIALS & TOOLS
Each SILHOUETTE® Shading ordered should
include:
•Installation brackets (see chart)
•2 hold-down brackets (optional)
•2 screws for each bracket (20mm x
6#Panhead)
TOOLS REQUIRED
•Steel measuring tape
•Carpenter’s level
•Power or battery drill and bits
•Flat blade and Phillips head screwdrivers

ATTACH THE INSTALLATION BRACKETS
Bracket spacing is the same for both inside and outside mounts. Two installation
brackets are positioned on mounting surface so that their centrelines will be
located 50mm from the ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are
required, additional brackets are spaced evenly between them. Measure and
mark all bracket centrelines on the mounting surface.
On the headrail of shadings over 915mm wide, the centrelines of the limit stops
should be located 140mm from the ends of the headrail. On shadings 915mm or
less in width, the limit stops should be located near the centre of the headrail.
Should an obstruction prevent the end installation brackets from
being mounted at the 50mm location, the brackets can be
moved further from the ends of the headrail, to a maximum
distance of 125mm. If the final location of the bracket
centrelines is 100mm or more from the ends of the headrail, the
limit stops must be moved. Reposition the limit stops so that their
centrelines are 50mm from the ends of the headrail. The
installation bracket has a tab on the bottom to prevent the
fabric from snagging on the bracket. Do not break off the tab
unless it interferes with bracket attachment. To remove the tab,
simply twist it off with your fingers.
INSIDE MOUNT APPLICATIONS
To inside mount a Silhouette Shading, attach the tops of the installation brackets
to the top sill of the window opening. The flat surface of the sill must be at least
22mm deep. To fully recess the headrail assembly, the flat surface must be at
least 73mm deep. Add to these minimum depth requirements the dimension of
any obstruction to the bottom rail, such as a window crank or handle.
Two screws are used to attach each bracket. Position the brackets on the
centrelines you marked and then attach them with the appropriate fasteners. Be
sure their front edges are aligned

INSTALLATION
•Attach a back-cover bracket to each of the installation brackets.
•Break off the removable tabs on the back of the installation bracket.
•Insert the prongs on the back-cover bracket into the holes on the back of
the installation bracket.
•If a satellite battery pack or AC transformer is used, break off the tab at the
top of the back-cover bracket.
Insert the back cover into the back-cover brackets.
•Refer to drawings below to determine the proper positioning of the back
cover.
OUTSIDE MOUNT APPLICATIONS
Mount the ends of the installation brackets on a flat vertical
surface at least 20 mm high. Two screws are used to attach
each bracket. Position the brackets on the centrelines you
marked and then attach them with the appropriate fasteners.
Be sure all the installation brackets are attached at exactly
the same height, and use a Carpenter’s level to check
that the tops of the brackets are perfectly horizontal.
SPACER BLOCKS
Spacer blocks are used to project the installation bracket
away from the mounting surface when additional clearance
is required. Each spacer block increases clearance by
12mm. Use a maximum of three blocks, with the solid sides
facing the mounting surface. Check to be sure your
mounting screws are long enough for a secure installation.

EXTENSION BRACKETS
Extension brackets can project the installation bracket up to
70mm from the mounting surface. Position the brackets on
the centrelines you marked and use two screws to attach
them. Be sure to align the tops of the brackets on the same
level. Connect the installation brackets with the machine
screws and nuts included with the extension brackets. Use
the same holes on all the extension brackets so that each
installation bracket projects the same distance from the
mounting surface. Indentations are stamped into the
extension brackets between each hole. If desired, the
unneeded length of a bracket may be cut off. This should be done before mounting
the bracket.
INSTALL THE WINDOW SHADING
With the front of the headrail facing you, push the top edge of the headrail into
the installation brackets, as shown. The headrail should click into position at each
bracket location.
When necessary to remove the window shading, insert a flat blade screwdriver
into the slot behind the locking tab on the installation bracket. Push up and twist
the screwdriver. This will move the rail just far enough forward to disengage the
locking tab. Note: The shading may need to be partially lowered to allow the
screwdriver to fit between the headrail and fabric roll.
END MOUNT APPLICATIONS
Two extension brackets can be used to end mount the headrail where
conventional inside or outside mounting techniques will not work.

OPTIONAL DUST COVER INSTALLATION
The dust cover is used to protect the top of the headrail from exposure to dust on
face fit installations. To attach the dust cover, remove the backing from one side
of the Velcro dots. Apply the dots to the installation brackets on each end of the
shade and remove the remaining paper from the dots. Centre the dust cover
over the top of the shade, above the previously placed dots and press down to
secure.
ADJUSTMENT
Raise the window shading very slowly the first time and carefully watch how the
fabric winds on the roll. It should wind evenly and not gather on either side. If the
fabric roll becomes uneven or starts to rub against one end of the headrail, stop
raising the shading immediately and adjust the balance weight on the bottom
rail.
To release the weight, insert a coin in
the right-side weight lock and turn it
clockwise. You can then release the
left-side weight lock, again turning it
clockwise. Adjust the weight by
moving it in 25mm increments toward
the side where the fabric is gathering.
After making the adjustment, lock the
weight locks in position by turning
them counter-clockwise. Lower the
window shading all the way and
again raise it slowly, watching how the
fabric winds. If necessary, readjust the
weight in 25mm increments, being careful not to over-adjust.
