左/右系列防噪音耳罩

The MSA left/RIGHTTM passive product range is designed to protect against harmful noise. It consists of different versions

such as Low, Medium and High. This user information is applicable for all versions. Please refer to the section applicable

for your version for handling instructions. To ensure you get the best comfort, t and function out of the product, it is

important that you read the instructions carefully and save them for future reference. Please refer to the attenuation table

for further details on noise reduction. Make sure you have selected the correct product for your application.

APPROVALS

The products meets the Essential Health and Safety Requirements as laid out in Annex II and conforms with quality

assurance of the production process, module D, laid out in Annex VIII of the PPE-regulation (EU) 2016/425. CE marking are

in accordance with EN352-1:2002 and EN352-3:2002. The products are approved to modules B and D by BSI (NB 2797), BSI

Group The Netherlands B.V. Say Building, John M. Keynesplein 9, 1066 EP Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

GENERAL FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Before following the tting instructions below, brush excess hair aside and remove any ear jewellery that could affect

acoustic seal. The cushions should form a snug t against the head with no interference of the seal by any objects e.g.

respirator headbands or spectacles arms, and that the cups completely enclose the ears.

Headband version (Illustration A)

1. Make sure to put the headband the right way round. The inside of the headband is marked with a letter L on the

left hand side and a letter R on the right hand side. Ensure that the headband is positioned correctly (see Fig. A1).

2. With the headband over the head, adjust the height of the cups by sliding them up or down, so they completely

enclose the ears (see Fig. A2).

Helmet mounted version (Illustration B)

These hearing protectors should be tted to, and used only with, the following industrial safety helmets (see table 2):

1. Ensure that the cups are mounted on the correct side of the helmet. The cup marked with L must be put on the left

hand side of the helmet and the cup marked with R must be put on the right hand side of the helmet (see Fig. B1).

2. Pull the ear cup down the fork as far as possible and put the cup in stand-by-position (see Fig. B2).

3. Push the attachment clip rmly into the slot on the side of the helmet until it clicks into place (see Fig. B3).

4. For the working position, press the cups toward the ears until they click into place. Adjust the height of the cups by

sliding them up or down so they completely enclose the ears (see Fig. B4).

5. Stand-by position: Pull the cups away from the ears until they lock into the stand-by position (see Fig. B5).

6. Parking Position: From the stand-by position, rotate the cups to the rear of the helmet until they click into place. In

this position, the cushions do not get damaged or dirty and the cups can dry (see Fig. B6). NOTE: Do not press the

cups onto the helmet shell as this will lock the spring in the cup arm, and damage the attachment slots on the side

of the helmet.

7. Storage Position: When the helmet is not in use, lower the cups and push them inwards until they click into place

(see Fig. B7).

WARNING!

Headband/helmet mounted hearing protectors complying with EN 352-1/EN 352-3 are of ‘medium size range’, ‘small size

range’ or ‘large size range’. ‘Medium size range’ Headband/helmet mounted will t the majority of wearers. ‘Small size

range’ or ‘large size range’ headband/helmet mounted hearing protectors are designed to t wearers for whom ‘medium

size range’ headband/helmet mounted hearing protectors are not suitable. For approved sizes, please refer to table 2

(headband and helmet mounted).

These hearing protectors should be tted to, and used only with, the industrial safety helmets listed in Table 2, which

also shows the applicable size range and correct adaptor type. Additional helmets may have been approved following

publication of these instructions. Please contact your distributor for further information.

STORAGE

When the hearing protector is not in use, store it in such a way that the headband is not stretched and the cushions are

not compressed. Keep the hearing protectors dry and clean, store them at normal room temperature and do not place

them in direct sunlight.

MAINTENANCE

Clean and disinfect the cups, cushions and inserts with mild soap and water only. This product may be adversely affected

by certain chemical substances. Further information should be sought from the manufacturer. Hearing protectors and

cushions in particular may deteriorate with use and should be examined at frequent intervals for cracking and leakage, for

example at the start of every working shift.

HYGIENE KITS (Illustration C)

The cushions and inserts are replaceable. Always replace worn or damaged parts. Remove the cushion by pulling it

straight out (C1). Replace the old cushion and insert with new ones from the hygiene kit (C2). Use only hygiene kits from

the manufacturer, consisting of one pair of cushions and one pair of inserts. It is recommended that the hygiene kit should

be replaced at least twice a year for standard use to ensure that the noise attenuation performances are maintained.

The tting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the hearing protectors. For order

reference, please refer to Table 3.

WARNING!

• The noise attenuation of the product will be severely impaired if you do not follow the instructions in this operator’s

manual.

• The user must ensure that the hearing protector or the hearing protector/safety helmet combination:

– are tted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with these instructions

– are worn at all times in noisy surroundings

– are inspected regularly for serviceability

• Hearing protectors should be worn at all times in noisy areas and be tted prior to entering the noise area.

• The tting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the hearing protectors.

• Remember that hearing protectors can generally shut out external ambient sounds, such as warning shouts, alarms

and other important signals. You should therefore be especially watchful of your surroundings when wearing hearing

protection.

• Dispose of the product in accordance with national legislation.

• Never use the hearing protector longer than 10 years from the manufacturing date stated on the packaging.

• When transporting the product ensure they are protected from chemical and/or physical damage.

ATTENUATION DATA (Table 1)

The sound attenuation values for the hearing protector are measured in accordance with EN 4869-2:2018. Please refer to

Table 1 for further information.

APV (Mf–sf) = Assumed Protection Value

H = High frequency attenuation value (predicted noise level reduction for noise where LC–LA= –2 dB)

M = Medium frequency attenuation value (predicted noise level reduction for noise where LC–LA= +2 dB)

L = Low frequency attenuation value (predicted noise level reduction for noise where LC–LA= +10 dB)

SNR = Single Number Rating (the value that is subtracted from the measured C-weighted sound pressure level, LC, in order

to estimate the effective A-weighted sound level inside the ear)

W = Gross weight in grams.

WARRANTY

The product is guaranteed from one year from date of purchase against defects in material or workmanship. This guaran-

tee does not extend to damage caused by product misuse, abuse or unauthorized modication. To make a claim, please

contact the source of purchase.
