1 Large LED Lamp
This is a multi colour lamp that flashed when you receive an incoming call,
or when a voice mail message has been left.
2 Screen Soft Keys
These keys are used to access the 4 options listed on the bottom row of
the LCD screen. These options change depending on the feature you are
currently using.
3 Flexible Programming Keys
These keys are programmable to be assigned different functions of the
phone system. Most commonly used for line keys, and one touch access
to dial internal extensions.
4 Recall Key
The recall key is used for accessing Telstra network features ie call waiting,
3 way chat etc.
5 Feature Key
The Feature key is used to access administrator features of the system,
only available to NEC proprietary handsets.
6 Microphone Key
The Mic key is used to toggle the external microphone on the handset
(located in the bottom right corner of the phone). When the LED light is
red, the microphone is active.
7 Menu Key
The Menu key is used for accessing you handsets call history, directory
and personal settings.
8 Answer Key
Used when answering multiple calls. If you are currently on a call, pressing
the Answer Key will place the current call on hold, and answer the next
incoming caller with the touch of one key.
9 Navigator Dial
Pressing the navigator dial up or down, controls the volume of the
handset. Pressing the navigator dial to the left or right accesses the redial
list and the speed dial directory respectively.
10 Hold Key
Places incoming or outgoing calls on hold.
11 Transfer Key
Transfers external callers to another destination.
12 Speaker Key
The Speaker key is used to answer calls in hands free.

BASIC FEATURES
Incoming Call Indication
When an incoming call is
received by your handset, the
Large LED lamp on the top of
your handset will flash red.
The Screen will also display
additional information, notifying
if the call being received is
internal or external.
To answer the call simply pick up
the handset, or press the
SPEAKER key to answer in hands
free.
Making Calls
To make a call either pick up your
handset or press the speaker key for
hands free.
Dial 0, followed by the number you
wish to call.

Placing a Call on Hold
During conversation, press the HOLD
key
The line key that the call came in on
will begin to flash slowly green
Retrieving a Call Placed on Hold
With a current call on hold
Pick up the handset.
Press the flashing button
NB: Flashing green means the call was
placed on hold by your handset, red
means the call was placed on hold
by another handset.
Transferring Calls
Once you have answered the call
Press Hold
Dial the station number
(or press programmed key)
Announce call (optional)
Press transfer to put call through
Hang up

By pressing up or down on the
Navigator dial you can control
the
Volume up or down
depending on
what the phone is currently
doing.
Microphone
Control
The microphone is
used when talking
in hands free.
Press the MIC
key to toggle
the
microphone

If you have a flashing
green message light on
your handset

Dial extension number, wait for
ring tone, Dial 1 to activate voice

Note. If the microphone is active on
the dialled extensions handset, a
two way conversation is activated
When the handset is raised the volume
controls the hand piece volume
When the speaker key is pressed, the
volume controls the hands free listening
volume
When the phone is ringing, the volume
controls the incoming ringing level
When the handset is idle the volume
controls the screens contrast making the
screen darker or lighter

Conference
Enables you to have a three way
conversation
With a call in progress,
press screen option CONF
Place 2nd call (internal or
external), once call is connected
press ADD
Press screen option BEGIN to
establish three way conversation
Last Number Redial
Press Redial Key (if this is done with
the handset down you can now
scroll your redial list by pressing up
and down on the navigator dial)
Dial # to dial the number displayed
or just pick up the handset.

Call Pick Up All Areas
Upon hearing a ring at another
extension,
Lift handset and dial *# to pick up the
call
Call Pick Up Direct
Upon hearing a ring at a particular
extension,
Lift handset, dial ** followed by
extension number of the handset that
is ringing.
Paging All Areas
Lift handset, dial 7011 (or
press programmed key)
Background Music
To Toggle BGM
Press Speaker key
Dial 725
Press Speaker key to hang up
Note feature must be enabled
through system programming.

Station Camp -On
If you have tried calling an
extension and the line is busy, dial
# then hang up the handset.
Your handset will then
automatically call you back
when that extension becomes
free. Once you answer the call,
the system will dial the extension
you were trying to contact.
Tone Override
When calling a busy extension
Dial * to send a tone to the busy party.
Receiving party will see a red flash on their
handset and will receive a tone through
their external speaker.
The receiving party can place current call
on hold and speak with 2nd party.

System Speed Dial / Abbreviated Dialling
System (000-999)
System must be programmed from extension 101
Press Speaker
Dial 753
Dial speed dial location number SYS(000-999)
Dial telephone number
HOLD
Dial speed dial name ( Max 11 letters ) use numerical keys
HOLD to save then Speaker to exit.
NB: Press # to move cursor right, twice for a space
NB: Press FEATURE to delete last letter
Retrieving speed dials
Press the Silver Navigator Dial to the Right
Enter first letter of name
Press up or down arrow to scroll that letter
Once you have the number desired on the screen, pick up
handset to place the call.
Or
Press the Silver Navigator Dial to the Left labelled Redial
Enter the position the speed dial has been stored behind (000-999)
Pick up the handset to dial or press the Speaker key

One Touch Key Programming
To program a function key
Press Speaker key
Dial 751
Press the key you wish to program
Dial 01 to assign as a one touch key
Enter the dialled digits
For an extension key enter the extension
number ie 101
For an external number enter zero, then the
number ie. 0 0411 111 111
Press HOLD to save
Press Speaker to exit
Changing System Time
Press SPK
Dial 728
Dial Hour ( 2 digits in 24 hour time eg 1.00pm is entered as 13 )
Dial Minute ( 2 digits )
Press SPK to exit

Changing Extension Name
Press Speaker and dial 700
Enter the extension number of the phone you wish to
change
Enter the new name over the old using the numerical
keypad.
Press Hold to save & Speaker to exit

Retrieving your Voice Mail Messages
When a voice mail message is left on your phone, the LED at the
top of your handset will flash red to notify you of the message.
To retrieve that message press the left screen option labelled “Vm
Msg” or dial *8
Press the screen option LSTN to hear your messages
Your messages will now play back to you. Your screen options will
now change giving you additional features such as Next, Pause
Delete. If you press the More key you will get additional options
such as Rewind and Fast Forward.

Forwarding your Phone to Voice Mail
Press the Speaker key
741 to forward your all calls Immediately
742 to forward your calls on Busy
743 to forward your calls on No Answer
744 to forward your call on Busy & No Answer
Dial 1 to Set the forward or dial 0 to cancel
Enter the forward destination of 3999 (Voice Mail) to activate
Press Speaker to hang up
Changing your Voice Mail Greeting
Pickup your handset & dial *8
Press the screen option Greet
Select your Greeting number – by default this is Gr1
From here you can select one of three options
Listen to your current message
Re Record your current message
Delete your current message
Once you have re recorded your current message press the screen
option Done to save your recording, then hang up.
