ATTENTION : Aucun casque ne
peut protéger entièrement l’uti-
lisateur de tous les chocs possibles
à haute ou basse vitesse. Toutefois,
pour une protection efficace, le cas-
que doit être à la bonne taille et la
jugulaire doit être correctement ser-
rée comme indiqué dans le manuel. Il
est dangereux de ne pas utiliser un
casque à sa taille ou de ne pas serrer
correctement le système de fermeture
de la jugulaire, car le casque pourrait
se séparer de la tête en cas d’acci-
dent, entrainant des blessures gra-
ves ou mortelles
Un casque à votre taille
Pour que le casque protège efficace-
ment tout en étant confortable, il doit être
parfaitement adapté à son utilisateur.
Le choix de la bonne taille est essentiel.
 Mesurez votre tour de tête à l’aide d’un
mètre ruban en le positionnant environ à
2 cm au-dessus des sourcils, c’est à ce
point que votre tour de tête est le plus
grand. Une fois la mesure relevée, com-
parez-la avec le tableau des tailles.
 Essayez la taille du casque Race-R la
plus proche de la mesure obtenue, com-
mencez vos essais par la taille inférieure
de votre tour de tête. Si vous ressentez un
point de contact trop dur, essayez la taille
supérieure. Vous devez être maintenu
assez fermement mais sans ressentir de
douleurs.
 Les essais de taille doivent être
effectués jugulaire serrée (merci de vous
reporter au paragraphe en page 6 pour le
verrouillage de la jugulaire). Vérifiez que
vous ayez une bonne visibilité verticale et
horizontale. Vérifiez que votre tête puisse
effectuer tous ces mouvements sans
gêne particulière.
 Vérifiez que jugulaire serrée, le casque
ne puisse pas se «déchausser» de votre
tête lorsque vous essayez de le faire bas-
culer avec vos mains sur l’avant en for-
çant. Si le casque sort ou est à la limite
de sortir, il est soit trop grand, soit la ju-
gulaire n’est pas bien serrée. Renouveler
l’essai jusqu’à trouver la taille idéale.
Attention : même pour un parcours très
court, ne prêtez pas votre casque si la
taille n’est pas parfaitement adaptée.
Il est absolument indispensable que lors
de toute utilisation votre casque soit bien
positionné (page 5).
Vérifiez que la tension de la jugulaire soit
correctement ajustée selon instructions
(page 6-9)


NE L’UTILISEZ PAS. Choisissez alors
une taille ou un modèle différent.
Conseils d’utilisation
1/ METTRE LE CASQUE
Pour chausser, vous devez le saisir au
niveau des attaches de jugulaires et les
écarter légèrement vers l’extérieur pour
vous faciliter le passage de la tête. Il est
conseillé, dans le même mouvement de
maintenir avec les pouces les 2 parties
de jugulaire vers l’extérieur afin qu’elles
soient bien positionnées.
Positionnez correctement les protections
de la jugulaire et serrer la jugulaire en
vous reportant aux conseils préconisés
(voir page 6-9).
Vérifiez que la tension de serrage de la
jugulaire, donc le maintien du casque,
soit correct.
2/ RETIRER LE CASQUE
Détachez la jugulaire, écartez légèrement
chacun des côtés, prenez votre casque
de la même manière que pour l’enfilage,
retirez le casque.
ATTENTION : si vous n’arrivez
pas à verrouiller correctement
la jugulaire, ou vous n’arrivez pas à
chausser correctement le casque sur
la tête, NE L’UTILISEZ PAS !

JUGULAIRE
La jugulaire doit être correctement
tendue sous le menton pour vous assu-
rer un maintien ferme du casque, sans
causer de gêne ni douleur.
Attention : ne jamais rouler avec la
jugulaire non attachée ou insuffisam-
ment tendue. Même si l’habillage
intérieur vous procure un sentiment
de maintien, le casque risque de se
déchausser lors d’une chute si la
tension de la jugulaire est insuffisante.
Ne jamais appliquer de produits lubri-
fiant ou acide, ni de graisse ou de sol-
vant sur les éléments de la boucle de
jugulaire. Votre casque Race-R dispose
d’un fermoir magnétique pour fixer
facilement le brin libre de la jugulaire.
Le réceptacle magnétique est placé sur
la protection de jugulaire,coté brin libre.
Cette protection de jugulaire est régla-
ble et amovible. (Voir chapitre textile).
Il est recommandé d’ajuster avant uti-
lisation la position de la protection de
la jugulaire. Cet ajustement se fait par
réglage au moyen du «Velcro» (voir
photos).
Très important , le fermoir magnétique
n’assure pas le maintien du casque.
Il immobilise seulement le bout de la
jugulaire. Il est indispensable, pour
votre sécurité d’attacher votre jugulaire
en suivant rigoureusement les instruc-
tions page 7.
Ne jamais prêter votre casque sans
vous assurer, du bon serrage de la
jugulaire et de la parfaite adaptation
de celui-ci à son utilisateur,
conformément aux instructions de ce
manuel.

A - Glissez la partie longue de la
jugulaire à l’intérieur des deux anneaux
en plaçant bien le coussinet de confort
entre la jugulaire et votre cou.
B - Faites revenir le bout de la jugu-
laire en passant entre les deux anneaux
comme indiqué sur le schéma.

C - Tirez jusqu’à sentir une résis-
tance de la lanière et un maintien sous la
gorge, sans excès, pour éviter une gène
de la respiration.

ATTENTION : Afin d’être correc-
tement serrée, la jugulaire doit
passer selon les instructions dans
les boucles double-D. Toute mau-
vaise utilisation de la jugulaire peut
faire que votre casque soit expulsé
en cas d’accident, laissant la tête
sans aucune protection.
ATTENTION : Essayez de tirer
sur la jugulaire avec les doigts.
Si la sangle se desserre d’une quel-
conque façon, vous n’avez pas cor-
rectement fermé la jugulaire dans les
boucles double-D. Répétez alors les
étapes décrites ci-contre. En cas de
doute concernant le système de fer-
meture du casque, ne pas utiliser le
casque.Demandez conseil à votre re-
vendeur.

WARNING : No helmet can pro-
tect the wearer from all fo-
reseeable high or low speed impacts.
However, for maximum protection,
the helmet must be of proper fit and
the chin strap must be securely faste-
ned as described in this manual.
Failure to have a proper fit and to se-
curely fasten the chin strap is dange-
rous, as the helmet could come off in
an accident, resulting in severe head
injury or death.
A helmet in your size :
For a helmet to provide effective protec-
tion while remaining comfortable, it has
to be perfectly suited to its user. Choosing
the correct size is essential.
 Measure the circumference of your head
with a tape measure, positioning it about
2 cm above your eyebrows : this is
where your head is the largest. Once you
have taken this measurement, compare
it to the table of sizes. Try the size of
Race-R helmet closest to the measu-
rement obtained, starting with the size
smaller than your head measurement. If
you feel that the contact is too hard, try
the larger size.


Your head should be held quite firmly but
you should feel no discomfort.
 Tests for size must be carried out with
the chin strap tightened (please refer to
the section on page 12-13 for instructions
on tightening the chin strap). Check that
you have good vertical and horizontal
visibility.
Check that your head can carry out all of
these movements without any particular
discomfort.
 Check that when the chin strap is
tightened, the helmet cannot be removed
from your head when you try to move it
forward by force.
If the helmet comes off or nearly comes
off, it is too big or else the chin strap is
not correctly tightened. Keep trying on
helmets until you find the ideal size.
WARNING : do not lend your helmet,
even for a short journey, if its size is
not perfectly suitable. For each use of
your helmet, it is absolutely necessary
to make sure that the helmet is well
positioned on your head, and that the
chin strap is properly adjusted, following
the instructions of this manual (see page
12-14).

Advice for use
1/ PUTTING ON THE HELMET
Once the chin strap is released, you have
to take hold of the two sections by the
buckles and hold them slightly apart to
facilitate the passage of your head. While
carrying out this movement, you are
advised to keep the two sections of the
chin strap apart with your thumbs so that
they are properly positioned.
Position the protective parts of the chin
strap buckle correctly and fasten it in
accordance with the recommendations
that are appropriate to the versions and
country (see page 10-11).
Check that the tension and therefore the
positioning of the helmet are correct for
all positions. If this is not the case, you
must continue to adjust the length until
you achieve the ideal positioning.
2/ REMOVING THE HELMET
Release the chin strap ; hold the two
sections slightly apart as for putting the
helmet on and remove the helmet.
WARNING: If you cannot pro-
perly fasten your chin strap or
obtain the correct fit of your helmet on
your head, DO NOT USE THE HELMET!
See your retailer for assistance.
WARNING : If you cannot obtain
a proper fit in accordance with
these instructions, DO NOT USE THE
HELMET. Select a different helmet
size or model.


CHIN STRAP
The belt must correctly fit under the chin
to ensure the tight fitting of the helmet,
without discomfort or pain.
Warning : never ride with the chin
strap loose or insufficiently tightened.
Even though the interior padding gi-
ves you the impression of being held,
your helmet risks coming off in a fall.
Never apply lubricating or acid products
or grease or solvents to the chin strap
buckle parts.
Your helmet Race-R has a magnetic clasp
to easily fix the free stalk of the belt. The
magnetic receptacle is placed on the pro-
tection of the belt, free stalk side, This
protection of belt is adjustable and re-
movable (see textile chapter). It is recom-
mended to adjust, the position of the belt
protection before use. This adjustment is
controlled by means of «Velcro» (see pho-
tos). Very important, the magnetic clasp

does not ensure maintaining of the hel-
met. It holds only the free stalk of the belt
For your safety, it is necessary to fasten.
Your belt by strictly following the instruc-
tions below : (see page 12-14).

A - Slide the long part of the chin
strap through the two D rings, positioning
the comfort pad correctly between the
chin strap and your neck.
B - Then bring the end of the chin
strap back through the lower of the two D
rings as shown in the diagram.

C - Pull the strap until you feel re-
sistance from the strap and it is held in
place under your chin without being too
tight, so that you have no difficulty in
breathing.

WARNING : In order to be pro-
perly fastened, you must thread
the strap through the double-D-rings.
Failure to properly use the double-D-
rings will cause your helmet to be-
come dislodged during an accident,
leaving your head completely unpro-
tected and resulting in severe head
injury or death.
WARNING : Try to pull down on
the chin strap with your fingers.
If the strap loosens in any way, you
have not properly tightened the chin
strap with the double-D-rings. Repeat
the steps above.
If you have any doubt concerning the
fastening system of your helmet, do
not use the helmet.

ECRAN
L’écran de votre casque RACE - R est le
fruit d’études et développements vous
permettant de disposer d’un écran d’une
qualité optique (classe optique 1) et sécu-
ritaire de très haut niveau.
La face externe a reçu un traitement
anti rayures pour prolonger la durée
d’utilisation de votre écran. La face interne
elle bénéficie d’un traitement exclusif anti
buée, reactivable pour être le plus efficace
possible. Il est donc recommandé d’entre-
tenir régulièrement votre écran.
ATTENTION : Les écrans teintés
ou colorés ne doivent jamais
être utilisés la nuit ou dans de mau-
vaises conditions de visibilité car ils
diminuent votre vision. Ne roulez ja-
mais avec un écran embué.
ATTENTION : Si vous n’êtes pas
sûr d’avoir bien remonté votre
écran, n’utilisez pas le casque. En
roulant l’écran pourrait se détacher
du casque soudainement et sans pré-
venir, causant ainsi une perte de
contrôle de votre moto, puis entrai-
nant un accident, une blessure ou la
mort. Nous vous conseillons de
contacter votre revendeur pour toute
assistance et conseil.
ATTENTION : Si vous conduisez
à haute vitesse, n’ouvrez pas
l’écran. Il pourrait se détacher et lais-
ser vos yeux et votre visage sans
protection.
De plus, votre tête pourrait être tirée
en arrière ou sur les côtés, ce qui peut
vous faire perdre le contrôle de la
moto, causant ainsi un accident, des
blessures corporelles ou la mort.
ATTENTION : Si votre écran
après un temps d’utilisation, ne
vous garantit pas une excellente visi-
bilité, il est absolument nécessaire
deleremplacer. Nousvous conseillons
de toujours rouler avec une visibilité
optimale.

VISOR
The visor of your helmet RACE-R is the
result of the research and developments
enabling you to benefit from an optical
quality visor (optical class 1) and safe of
very high level. The external surface has
been anti scratch treated to extend of use
of your visor. The internal surface has an
exclusive anti fog treatment, reactive to be
the most efficient. It is therefore recom-
mended to regularly maintain your visor.
WARNING : Tinted or dark visors
should never be used at night or
under poor visibility conditions as
they reduce your ability to see. Never
ride with a fogged visor.
WARNING : If you are not sure
that you properly replaced the
visor, do not use the helmet. The vi-
sor could suddenly and without war-
ning become detached from the hel-
met while riding, causing you to lose
control of your motorcycle, resulting
in an accident, personal injury, or
death. Contact your retailer for any
assistance or advice.

WARNING : If your visor no lon-
ger provides you with clear visi-
bility after a period of service, you
must immediately replace it. Never
ride if your visor is scratched, dirty,
foggy or with your vision obscured in
any way. Always ride with perfect
visibility
WARNING : While riding at
highway speeds, do not ride
with an open visor and do not try to
open the visor. The visor could be-
come dislodged, leaving your eyes
and face unprotected. In addition,
your head could be pulled to the side.
These events could cause you to lose
control of your motorcycle, resulting
in an accident, personal injury or
death.

1. Réglage de la force de friction :
• A l’aide de la clef 6 pans de 1,5mm
vous pouvez régler la force de fric-
tion de votre écran (voir photo)
2. Réglage de l’etanchéité de l’ecran :
Votre casque a été préréglé minutieu-
sement en usine. Nous vous décon-
seillons de modifier ces réglages, tou-
tefois le système de rotation breveté
SHARK donne la possibilité d’ajuster
l’écran. Mais nous vous conseillons de
vous adresser à votre revendeur pour
effectuer cette opération.

4 - Exercer une pression sur le bloqueur pour le plaquer sur l’écran,
puis effectuer un quart de tour vers l’arrière pour le ramener contre la rota-
tion dans sa position initiale. Répétez l’opération de l’autre côté.
NE JAMAIS FORCER. VÉRIFIER LE MOUVEMENT DE L’ÉCRAN AVANT UTILI-
SATION DU CASQUE.

Tear off :
Votre casque Race-R peut être équipé de
tear off. Attention les tear off sont à utili-
ser uniquement sur circuit fermé.
L’écran du Race-R est équipé des
supports nécessaires. (voir photo)
• Montage : les supports sont montés sur
excentriques, faites les pivoter afin de
les rapprocher.
• Placez les tear Off sur l’écran propre,
(voir photo), une fois les tear off po-
sitionnés sur leurs supports, les mettre
en tension en exerçant une rotation.
Attention le mauvais positionnement
des tear off peut nuire à votre vision et
entrainer des risques d’accidents.
Tear off :
Your helmet Race-R Could be equipped
with a tear off kit. Note that the tear off are
intend to be used only on a closed track.
The visor of Race-R is equipped of the
necessary supports
• Assemble : The supports are mounted
on eccentrics, swing them to have them
closer.
• Place the tear off on a clean visor (see
photo), once the tear off are positio-
ned on their supports, tension them
by exerting a rotation. Note that the bad
positioning of the tear off can affect your
vision and cause risk of accidents.
Attention : Pour votre sécurité, ne roulez
en aucun cas avec un écran qui ne vous
assure pas une parfaite visibilité.
Attention : si votre écran après un temps
d’utilisation, ne vous garantit pas une
excellente visibilité, il est absolument né-
cessaire de le remplacer.

The 1.5mm six sides key enables the
adjustment of the friction force of your
visor. (see photo)
2. Adjustment of visor sealing :
Your helmet has been carefully adjusted in
factory. You should better not modify this
adjustment ; however the SHARK patent
rotation system gives the possibility to
adjust the visor. But we recommend you
to contact your retailer to make this ope-
ration.
Warning : For your safety, do not ride with a
visor that does not guarantee you a perfect
visibility.
Warning : If your visor after a period of use,
does not guarantee you an excellent visibi-
lity, it is absolutely necessary to change it.

SHARKTOOTH - PRE EQUIPMENT AUDIO :
Your helmet SHARK Race-R is designed to
be equipped with audio system SHARK-
TOOTH. This very efficient communication
system can be mounted in the Race-R very
easily, while maintaining the good safety
performances of your helmet well within the
limits of the valid standards.
WARNING SHARK disclaims all liability in case
of adaptation into the Race-R of a communi-
cation system other than the SHARKTOOTH.
