I Important safety information
All of the necessary work must be performed by qualified persons with an appropriate
level of expertise.
Vehicle lifts with an insufficient lifting capacity can collapse under the weight
of the vehicle and crush any persons standing underneath.
Compare the weight of the vehicle with the lifting capacity of your vehicle lift.
The weight of the vehicle must not exceed the lifting capacity of your vehicle
lift. The weight of the vehicle can be found in the vehicle operating manual.
Risk of injury from electric current.
Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery when working on the vehicle
electrical/electronics systems.
Hydraulic oil can lead to heavy injuries under pressure squirting out.
Poisoning danger by swallowing hydraulic oil.
Danger of injury by irritations at contact of hydraulic oil with eyes, mucous
membrane and skin.
Protective clothing and safety goggles carry. Avoiding contact with eyes,
mucous membrane and skin.
Not eating, drinking or smoking at dealing with hydraulic oil.

Risk of injury from hands and arms being crushed, cut or lacerated when
working with sharp-edged and bulky objects.
Wear protective clothing and protective gloves. Keep limbs out of narrow and
inaccessible areas of the vehicle and/or avoid dangerous situations by using
special tools and suitable aids.
Risk of injury to back, muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments from lifting and
carrying heavy and/or bulky objects.
Lift and transport heavy and/or bulky objects with the help of other people
and/or with suitable aids.
Before starting the assembly procedure, carefully read the assembly instructions in full
and pay attention to the safety information and sequence of the individual operation steps.
All body parts must be prepared and painted in accordance with the attached painting
guide.

II Preparation
i
On the 997 Turbo and the 987 Cayman or Boxster, the standard suspension has
to be replaced with the Various Plus coil-over suspension art no.
097.200.550.009 (without PASM) or 087.200.350.009 (with PASM) before the
TECHART Noselift System can be installed (see the according assembly
instructions).
On the GT2/GT3/RS, the TECHART Noselift System can be installed with the
standard suspension.
Number of people required
For the installation of this product at least two persons are needed.

III Installation
The TECHART Noselift System may not be connected to the power supply
before the hydraulic lines are connected.
Work may only be carried out on the hydraulic unit and suspension struts when
they are disconnected and depressurized and with the hydraulic unit switched
off. The hydraulic unit must be secured to prevent it being switched on.
Accordingly, the entire hydraulic unit including control system must be
disconnected from the battery and the connection line must be insulated against
contact with the battery.
All pressure lines and lift cylinders must be depressurized before work is
carried out on the TECHART Noselift System.
The hydraulic unit and lift cylinders can become hot if repeatedly raised and
lowered.
The relevant safety regulations must be complied with when handling hydraulic
fluid.
If the power supply fails, the vehicle drops to the normal level.
Warning! Before disconnecting the power supply (battery), observe the relevant
information supplied by the vehicle manufacturer.

2 Preparing the vehicle

Before starting work, check that the vehicle is free from defects. Use the PIWIS
system tester to read out all the fault memories of the individual vehicle
components and first rectify any faults displayed.
1 Raise vehicle at the factory-fitted lift support points.
2 Detach the wheels.
3 Assembly of TECHART parts (front axle)
3.1 Assembly of left and right lift cylinders
1 Detach connector for wheel carrier
plug connection. Detach plug
connection from wheel carrier and
unclip electrical lines on
suspension strut.
2 Remove support for brake
line/brake hose on wheel carrier.
Remove brake caliper from wheel
carrier and hang up in wheel well.
3 Undo suspension gear on anti-roll
bar (counter hold using open-end
wrench). Fig. 03
4 Detach tie rod and control arm on wheel carrier and pry off the ball joints using the
puller. When undoing the lock nuts, counter hold with Torx screwdriver on ball joint
pin.
5 Undo threaded joint connecting suspension-strut supporting mount to body (3 M8
lock nuts).

On vehicles equipped with PASM, the damper connection cable has to be
detached.

6 Release clamp connection for suspension strut/wheel carrier (ball joint of
suspension gear), counter holding with an open end wrench. Withdraw
suspension strut from wheel carrier.
7 Pretighten coil spring with spring compressor far enough until the piston rod is
relieved.
8 Dismantle supporting mount.
9 Complete assembly of shock absorbers with TECHART Springs, left and right lift
cylinders and original supporting mounts. (On vehicles which do not allow the
dismantling of the lower spring collar the lift cylinder can be mounted right
on the serial spring collar!)
For the 987 models lay the supplied blue washer between the pivot bearing and
the strut bearing!
10 Use new lock nut to tighten supporting mount on piston rod.

On suspension struts with a PASM
system, the electrical cable is to be
attached using a plug-in cable tie
and then routed along the ABS cable
with cable ties.
Installation is in the reverse order.
Replace the lock nuts and brake
caliper fastening bolts.
Adjust height of vehicle to match
customer requirements. Front axle
adjustment range:
Shock absorber dimension x
997 C4/C4S: x = 44 – 54 mm
997 Turbo: x = 44 – 54 mm
997 GT2 until MY09: x = 23 – 30 mm
997GT2 RS from MY11: x =16-25mm
997 GT3/GT3RS until MY09:
x = 36 – 43 mm
997 GT3/ GT3RS from MY10
x = 30 – 38 mm
987 Cayman/Boxster: x = 44 – 54 mm

After setting shock absorber dimension x, the vehicle height must be checked
and corrected if necessary.
See chapter IV, section 1 for the vehicle height adjustment values.
3.2 Installation of hydraulic assembly

1 Remove original battery.
2 Remove original battery box.

Original parts no longer required.
On vehicles with a battery whose
capacity is greater than 70 Ah, a
compact battery must be installed.
On the 997 GT3/GT3 RS, a compact
battery may already be installed
depending on the equipment. If this
is not the case, a compact battery
must be installed.

The following Porsche batteries can continue to be used (part number,
capacity):
999.611.060.20, 60 AH

3.3 Routing of right hydraulic line

The hydraulic lines must not be kinked or pinched. They must be routed in such
a way that they do not chafe against other parts, overextend or sag in any
driving or steering situation.

IMPORTANT: Move wheels to the straight-ahead position.
1 Install hydraulic line (1200 mm) (5)
on right TECHART lift cylinder (1)
with the supplied banjo bolt (9)
and 2 sealing washers.

2 Unscrew the threaded connection
of the hydraulic line (1200 mm)
(5).

3 Press the supplied rubber
grommet (10) into the free bracket
on the vehicle (11) and thread the
hydraulic line (1200 mm) (5)
through from above.

The picture shows the dual-sided
bracket (11) on the 997 Turbo. On
the 997 GT3, the front bracket
(viewed in the direction of travel) is
intended for the hydraulic line (1200
mm) (5).

4 Screw threaded connection onto
hydraulic line (1200 mm) (5) and
tighten.

Before the hydraulic line is finally
fastened in place, it is necessary to
ensure that the size of the loop is
large enough. The size of the loop
must be chosen so that it cannot be
placed under stress or kinked
throughout the entire working range
of the suspension strut.

supplied edge clips (12).
