Operating Instructions
order code: 810-279
INSTRUMENT OPERATION - The instrument
is switched on by removing the probe cover
or by pressing the Hold or Max/Min button.
Insert the probe into the substance being
measured. The instrument reading may
take a few seconds to stabilise, depending
on the nature of the measurement. The
instrument will automatically turn off after
one hour of inactivity if not placed within
the probe cover.
HOLD - Press the Hold button to retain the
displayed reading, °C or °F will flash, press
the Hold button again to resume taking
temperature. Please note: Once Hold
is selected the unit will not automatically
turn off.
MAX/MIN - Press the Max/Min button
to display the maximum reading and
a 'Max'symbol will flash in the display.
Press the Max/Min button again to
display the minimum reading and a 'Min'
symbol will flash in the display. Press
the Max/Min button again to return to
normal readings. To reset, simply hold the
Max/Min button for three seconds.
Please note: Max/Min readings are not
saved, so switching off the instrument will
clear these readings.
°C/°F - Unscrew the battery cover at the end
of the instrument and remove the battery. To
select the desired temperature scale, slide
the switch to °C or °F.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT - The battery will
need to be replaced when 'Bat' is displayed
or if the display dims. Replace the battery
with a 3 volt lithium coin cell (CR2032). The
battery is located under the battery cover
at the end of the instrument. Retighten the
battery cover ensuring the gasket remains
in place for continued water resistance of
the product.
EMC/RFI - Instrument performance may be
affected if operated within a high frequency
radio field, such as near a mobile phone, or
if subjected to an electrostatic shock.
GUARANTEE - This instrument carries
a one-year guarantee against defects
in either components or workmanship.
During this period, products that prove to
be defective will, at the discretion of ETI,
be either repaired or replaced without
charge. This guarantee does not apply to
sensors/probes, where a six-month period
is offered. The product guarantee does
not cover damage caused by fair wear
and tear, abnormal storage conditions,
incorrect use, accidental misuse, abuse,
neglect, misapplication or modification.
Full details of liability are available within
ETI’s Terms & Conditions of Sale at www.

right to amend our product specification
without prior notice.
