Designated use
The CPV−SC valve terminals described in this documentation
have been designed exclusively for controlling pneumatic
actuators.
They may only be used in conjunction with devices and com
ponents recommended or approved of by Festo as follows:
asspecified in industrial applications
 without any modifications by the user Only the conver
sions or modifications described in the documentation
supplied with the product are permitted
infaultless technical condition.
The maximum values specified for pressures, temperatures,
electrical data, torques etc. must be observed.
Please comply with national and local safety laws and
regulations.
Target group
This manual is intended exclusively for technicians trained in
control and automation technology, who have experience in
fitting, installing, commissioning, servicing and converting
pneumatic components.
Service
Please consult your local Festo repair service if you have any
technical problems.

commissioning, servicing and converting the CPV−SC valve
terminal. This manual describes only the pneumatic compo
nents and refers to the CPV−SC valve terminal with electric
multipin connection.

plied with the product.

1.1 Overview of the CPV−SC valve terminal
Festo assists you in solving your automation tasks at machine
level with valve terminals.
Due to its compact structure the CPV−SC valve terminal can
be mounted close to the actuators to be controlled. Short
compressed air tubing can therefore be used. System losses
can therefore be minimized and the times required for pres
surizing and exhausting the compressed air tubing can be
minimized. This is made possible by the use of very compact
valves with high flow rate, therefore helping to reduce costs.
The valve terminal pneumatics provide the following:
 the common channels for supply and exhaust air
 the electric signals from all solenoid valve coils.
Work connections 2 and 4 have been provided on all the valve
plates. The valves are supplied with compressed air via the
common channels in the valve terminal and connections in
the end plates. Both the exhaust air and auxiliary pilot ex
haust air from the valves are also exhausted via these com
mon channels. To supplement these, further components are
available, e.g. to form pressure zones or to supply additional
compressed air to the valve terminal.

1.2 Description of variants
CPV−SC valve terminal
with MP connection
This CPV−SC valve terminal is available with 4, 8, 12 or 16
valve plates. The electrical connection of the valve solenoid
coils is made centrally via the multipin connection. This is
available in the following designs:
 Sub−D connection 15−pin
 Sub−D connection 26−pin (high density)
 Flat ribbon plug 20−pin
Size The CPV−SC valve terminal is available in the following sizes:

Identification code With the identification code (I.C.) you can ascertain the equip
ment fitted on your CPV−SC valve terminal. The code is
printed on the front below the manual overrides.
