Thank you for pur hasing the Hy o Novara PTC High level heater.
This heater is typi ally used in ommer ial settings and is ideal for a wide
range of fixed installation heating appli ations. Please read and understand
these instru tions before ommen ing installation and leave them with
the user when installation is omplete.
1. Imp rtant safety p ints
•The Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in
accordance with the current edition of the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations.
•Only connect the unit to a single phase supply with a mains voltage as specified
on the rating plate.
•Do not carry the appliance by the supply cord.
•The supply cord cannot be replaced by the user. If the cord is damaged the
appliance should be returned to the manufacturer or an authorised service
agent for replacement.
•The appliance must not be located immediately below an electrical socket outlet.
•Always keep the outlet and inlet grilles clean.
•Do not cover the outlet as it may cause overheating.
•Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
•Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the
appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal
operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children
aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the
appliance or perform user maintenance.
•This unit should be installed at least 1.5m from baths, showers, laundries,
swimming pools etc.

•The heater must be positioned at a minimum height of 1.8m.
•The heater must be mounted at least 1m away from any combustible materials
such as furniture, curtains, bedding etc.
•When the unit is first switched on or after a long period unused, a burning smell
may occur to dust gathered on the heating element.
•This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
Do not use the heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not
capable of leaving the room on their own unless supervision is provided.
2. Installati n
Wall m unting
•Select a suitable surface to mount the heater on.
•The appliance must not be located immediately below an electrical socket outlet.
•This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
Do not use the heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not
capable of leaving the room on their own unless supervision is provided.
•The heater must be positioned at a minimum height of 1.8m.
•The unit must be a minimum distance of 0.2m from any ceiling or surface above
the unit.
The unit is mounted to the wall by means of two screws that locate into the slots on
the back of the product; the screws should be spaced at 45.7cm apart.
Allow the screw heads to protrude from the wall by at least 5mm. The unit should
only be mounted horizontally with the hot air outlet facing down.

Electrical
•The Ele tri al installation must be arried out by a qualified ele tri ian in a ordan e
with the urrent edition of the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations.
•If the heater is to be onne ted to the fixed wiring of the property then installation
must in lude a double pole isolating swit h with a break onta t distan e of at least
3mm following the olour oding below:
Brown: L
Blue: N
3. Operati n
The heater an be ontrolled by the supplied remote ontrol or dire tly using the buttons
on the front of the unit.
1. To operate the unit first turn the unit ON using
the ON/OFF swit h either via the remote ontrol
or dire tly on the front of the unit.
2. When the unit is first turned on it will run on fan
only operation. In order to sele t the heat level,
press the ON/OFF button (on the front of the heater)
again to toggle between the available levels. Alternatively
if you are using the remote ontrol the power settings
are assigned to individual buttons. Press the button for
the power level you require.
3. The unit has a run on feature, this allows the user to
sele t the length of time the heater will operate before
automati ally shutting down. Press the timer button
on e for every 0.5h period you wish the unit to run
for (maximum 7.5hrs available).
4. When the unit is turned off it will automati ally run on
fan only mode for approximately 30 se onds before it
shuts down, this is normal.

4. Maintenance
•Always isolate the appliance from the power supply before commencing any
maintenance.
•Never use abrasive chemicals or materials to clean the unit.
Use a vacuum cleaner to clear the inlet and outlet vents of any dust or debris.

6. Guarantee and service p licy
This product is guaranteed against faulty materials and manufacture for a period of one
year from the date of purchase. Hyco will in its sole discretion replace, repair or refund
any faulty unit. Incorrect installation and failure to follow correct operating instructions
are excluded. Consequential costs such as labour charges or damage to surroundings
are expressly excluded.

INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
EUROPEAN DIRECTI E 2002/96/E.
At the end of its working life this equipment must not be disposed of as household
waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer
providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately
enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in
energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment
separately, the product is marked with a crossed out dustbin.
