Before using the battery charger, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on the charger and
the battery.
WARNING: Read these instructions carefully and save them for future reference.
• To reduce the risk of damage to the power cord, pull the plug rather than the cord when
disconnecting power cord from the AC outlet or the charger.
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, avoid using an extension cord. If an extension
cord must be used, ensure that the cord size is 18 AWG for lengths of up to 6.5 feet (2 m),
and 16 AWG for lengths up to 9.8 feet (3 m).
•To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, do not operate the charger if it is broken or
damaged in any way. Take it to a qualified Motorola Solutions service representative.
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not disassemble the charger. It is not
repairable and replacement parts are not available.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger power adapter from the AC outlet
before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
• To reduce the risk of injury, charge only the rechargeable authorized batteries. Other
batteries may explode, causing personal injury and damage.
• To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, only use the accessories recommended
by Motorola Solutions.

Operating Guidelines
The followings are the operating guidelines for the charger.
• This equipment is not suitable for outdoor use. Use only in dry locations and conditions.
• Maximum ambient temperature around the charger must not exceed 40 °C (104 °F).
•Turn off the radio when charging.
• Connect the charger to an AC outlet using only a Motorola Solutions Authorized Power Supply.
• The AC outlet to which the power supply is connected must be nearby and easily accessible.
• Ensure that the power supply cord connected to the charger is not easily stepped on, tripped over,
or subjected to water, damage, or stress.
• Connect the power supply only to an appropriately fused and wired AC outlet with the correct
voltage, as specified on the product.
• Disconnect from the line voltage by removing the power supply from the AC outlet.
• Multi-Unit Chargers charge the batteries listed in Table 6: Charger LED Indicator on page 15,
when used with Pockets in Table 4: Motorola Solutions Authorized Multi-Unit Charger And Power
Cords on page 8. The batteries may be attached to a radio or may be stand-alone.

Charging a Battery With Radio
When and where to use:
IMPORTANT: Prior to charging a battery with radio, turn the radio off. Batteries charge best at
room temperature.
The Single-Unit Charger (SUC) Kit is able to charge DLR Series radios and CLR Series radios with
batteries or radios with batteries and holsters.
The Single-Unit Charger (SUC) Kit is able to charge stand-alone batteries as listed in Motorola
Solutions Authorized Batteries on page 7.
To charge the battery with the radio attached, place it in a Motorola Solutions approved SUC Tray.
Refer to Table 2: Motorola Solutions Authorized Single-Unit Charger And Power Supplies on page 7
Procedure:
1Place the SUC Tray on a flat surface.
2Insert the connector of the power supply into the port on the side of the drop-in tray charger.
3Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet.
4Turn the radio off.
5Insert the radio into the tray with the front of the radio facing the front of the charger.

Charging a Stand-Alone Battery
When and where to use:To charge a battery, the followings are steps to insert the battery into the
charger pocket.
Procedure:
1Align the raised tab on each side of the battery with the corresponding groove on each side of
the charger pocket.
2Press the battery toward the rear of the pocket.
3Slide the battery into the charger pocket, ensuring complete contact between the charger and
battery contacts.
When the battery is properly seated in the pocket, the charger indicates the battery level status
as shown in Table 6: Charger LED Indicator on page 15. The red LED illuminates to indicate
that the battery is charging rapidly.
The LED changes to a steady green light to indicate that the battery is nearly or fully charged.

3.1
Charging Procedures
The charger pockets 1–6 accommodates a radio with battery attached only. The charger pockets 7–12
accommodates either a radio with battery attached or standalone battery.
When and where to use:
IMPORTANT: Prior to charging a battery with radio, turn the radio off. Batteries charge best at
room temperature.
• The 12-Pocket Multi-Unit Charger (MUC) Kit is able to charge DLR Series radios and CLR Series
radios with batteries, or radios with batteries and holsters.
• This 12-Pocket MUC Kit is able to charge standalone batteries as listed in Motorola Solutions
Authorized Batteries on page 7.
• The total charging time ranges from 3–7 hours depending on the number of radios with batteries or
stand-alone batteries being charged simultaneously.
Procedure:
1Plug the charger end of the power supply cord into the power receptacle located at the bottom of
the charger.
2Plug the wall receptacle end of the power supply cord into appropriate AC outlet.
A successful power-up sequence in indicated by a Single Flash Green on the charger indicator.

3To charge a radio with battery, slide the radio into the charger pocket and align it to the groove
on each side of the radio with the corresponding raised rail on each side of the charger pocket.
NOTICE: Ensure complete contact between the charger and radio contacts.
4To charge a stand-alone battery, the followings are steps to insert the battery into the charger
pocket.
1Align the raised tab on each side of the battery with the corresponding groove on each side
of the charger pocket.
2Press the battery towards the rear of the pocket.
3Slide the battery into the charger pocket, ensuring complete contact between the charger and
battery contacts.
When the radio or stand-alone battery is properly inserted into the charger pocket, the charger
indicates the battery level status as shown in Table 6: Charger LED Indicator on page 15.
The charger indicator illuminates in Steady Red to indicate the radio or stand-alone battery is
charging rapidly. When the battery is nearly or fully charged, charger indicator changes to
Steady Green.
5To remove a radio or stand-alone battery from the charger, use both hands to remove a radio or
battery from the charger pocket. One hand to hold and support the charger while the other hand
removes the radio or battery.

Cloning Radios
The 12-Pocket Multi-Unit Charger (MUC) Tray allows you to clone up four radios at a time.
You can clone 4 sources and 4 target radios by using pockets 1–2, 4–5, 7–8 and 10–11.
For further details on cloning procedure, refer to the DLR Series and CLR Series radio manual.

The followings are troubleshooting procedure if there are no LED indication.
1Check that the radio or stand-alone battery is inserted correctly.
2Ensure the power supply is plugged into an appropriate AC outlet. This is applicable to Single-Unit
Charger (SUC) Tray only.
3Ensure the cable is plugged securely into the charger socket. This is applicable to Single-Unit
Charger (SUC) Tray only.
4Ensure the power cord is plugged securely into the charger socket with an appropriate AC outlet
and there is power to the outlet. This is applicable to 12 Pocket Multi-Unit Charger Tray only.
5Confirm that the battery used with the radio is Motorola Solutions authorized batteries listed in
Motorola Solutions Authorized Batteries on page 7.
2Normally, re-positioning the battery pack corrects this issue

The Charger Kit for North America is covered under the Motorola Solutions one year limited warranty.
If your charger is defective, contact your Motorola Solutions Partner where the unit was purchased.

Directives d'utilisation
Voici les directives d'utilisation du chargeur.
• Cet équipement n’est pas conçu pour une utilisation à l’extérieur. Ne l’utilisez que dans des
emplacements secs et sous des conditions sans risque d’humidité.
• La température ambiante maximale autour du chargeur ne doit pas dépasser 40 °C (104 °F).
•Éteignez la radio pendant la charge.
• Branchez le chargeur à une prise c.a. uniquement à l'aide d'un bloc d'alimentation agréé par
Motorola Solutions.
• La prise de courant à laquelle le bloc d’alimentation est branché doit se trouver à proximité et être
facilement accessible.
• Assurez-vous que le cordon du bloc d’alimentation est placé à un endroit où il ne sera pas écrasé,
ne gênera pas le passage, ne sera pas tendu de façon anormale et ne sera pas exposé à une
source d’humidité.
• Ne branchez le bloc d’alimentation qu’à une prise c.a. à fusible câblée appropriée, de tension
prescrite telle que spécifiée sur le produit.
• Débranchez le chargeur de la tension de secteur en retirant le cordon d’alimentation de la prise de
courant c.a.
• Les chargeurs multiples peuvent charger les batteries répertoriées dans Tableau 6 :Voyant DEL du
chargeur à la page 17 , lorsqu'ils sont utilisés avec les logements indiqués dans Tableau
4 :Multichargeur agréé Motorola Solutions et cordons d’alimentation à la page 8 . Les batteries
peuvent être branchées à une radio ou autonomes.
