Die Gebrauchsanweisung gibt Ihnen wichtige Informationen für das Anlegen
der Philadelphia Cervicalorthese 50C40.
2 Verwendung
2.1 Verwendungszweck
Die Orthese ist ausschließlich zur orthetischen Versorgung der Halswirbel
säule einzusetzen und ausschließlich für den Kontakt mit intakter Haut be
stimmt.
Die Orthese muss indikationsgerecht eingesetzt werden.
2.2 Indikationen
• Cervicale Wurzelirritation
• Frakturen der HWS (einfache und stabile)
• Luxationen/Luxationsfrakturen (postoperativ)
• Nach Halo-Body-Jacket
Die Indikation wird vom Arzt gestellt.
2.3 Kontraindikationen
2.3.1 Absolute Kontraindikationen
Nicht bekannt.
2.3.2 Relative Kontraindikationen
Bei nachfolgenden Indikationen ist eine Rücksprache mit dem Arzt erforder
lich: Hauterkrankungen/-verletzungen, Entzündungen, aufgeworfene Narben
mit Schwellung, Rötung und Überwärmung im versorgten Körperabschnitt,
Tumoren, Lymphabfluss-Störungen, Sensibilitätsstörungen im Bereich der
Halswirbelsäule.
2.4 Wirkungsweise
Die Orthese immobilisiert die Halswirbelsäule.

4 Handhabung
INFORMATION
►Die tägliche Tragedauer und der Anwendungszeitraum werden in der
Regel vom Arzt festgelegt.
►Die erstmalige Anpassung und Anwendung des Produkts darf nur
durch Fachpersonal erfolgen.
►Weisen Sie den Patienten in die Handhabung und Pflege des Produkts
ein.
►Weisen Sie den Patienten darauf hin, dass er umgehend einen Arzt
aufsuchen soll, wenn er außergewöhnliche Veränderungen an sich
feststellt (z.B. Zunahme der Beschwerden).
4.1 Auswählen der Größe
1) Den Halsumfang messen.
2) Die Nackenhöhe messen.
3) Die Orthesengröße ermitteln (siehe Größentabelle).
4.2 Anlegen
VORSICHT
Verwendung bei empfindlicher Haut auf Wärme
Hautirritationen durch Überwärmung
►Verwenden Sie das Produkt nicht bei bekannter Allergie gegen Wär
me.
►Verwenden Sie das Produkt bei auftretenden Hautirritationen im Zwei
felsfall nicht weiter.
►Informieren Sie den Patienten.

Lokale Druckerscheinungen und Einengungen an durchlaufenden Blutge
fäßen und Nerven durch falsches oder zu festes Anlegen
►Stellen Sie das korrekte Anlegen und den korrekten Sitz der Orthese
sicher.
►Informieren Sie den Patienten.
HINWEIS
Verwendung eines verschlissenen oder beschädigten Produkts
Eingeschränkte Wirkung
►Weisen Sie den Patienten darauf hin, dass er das Produkt vor jedem
Gebrauch auf Funktionstüchtigkeit, Verschleiß oder Schäden unter
sucht.
►Machen Sie den Patienten darauf aufmerksam, dass das Produkt nicht
mehr verwendet werden soll, wenn das Produkt oder ein Teil des Pro
dukts Verschleißerscheinungen (z. B. Risse, Verformungen, schlechte
Passform) oder Schäden aufweist.
> Der Patient steht oder sitzt.
> Die Orthese zu zweit anlegen.
> Alle Klettverschlüsse der Orthese öffnen.
1) Den inneren, mit „Back“ gekennzeichneten Teil der Orthese, von Hinten
an den Nacken anlegen (siehe Abb.1).
2) Den äußeren, mit „Front“ gekennzeichneten Teil der Orthese, von Vorn
an den Hals anlegen (siehe Abb.2).
→Das Kinn liegt in der Aussparung.
3) Alle Klettverschlüsse gleichmäßig schließen (siehe Abb.3).
4.3 Reinigung
HINWEIS
Verwendung falscher Reinigungsmittel
Beschädigung des Produktes durch falsche Reinigungsmittel
►Reinigen Sie das Produkt nur mit den zugelassenen Reinigungsmitteln.
Die Orthese regelmäßig reinigen:
1) Alle Klettverschlüsse schließen.
2) Die Orthese in 30°C warmen Wasser mit einem handelsüblichen Fein
waschmittel von Hand waschen.
3) Die Orthese gut ausspülen.

4) An der Luft trocknen lassen. Direkte Hitzeeinwirkung vermeiden (z.B.
durch Sonnenbestrahlung, Ofen- oder Heizkörperhitze).
5 Entsorgung
Das Produkt gemäß den geltenden nationalen Vorschriften entsorgen.
6 Rechtliche Hinweise
Alle rechtlichen Bedingungen unterliegen dem jeweiligen Landesrecht des
Verwenderlandes und können dementsprechend variieren.
6.1 Haftung
Der Hersteller haftet, wenn das Produkt gemäß den Beschreibungen und
Anweisungen in diesem Dokument verwendet wird. Für Schäden, die durch
Nichtbeachtung dieses Dokuments, insbesondere durch unsachgemäße
Verwendung oder unerlaubte Veränderung des Produkts verursacht werden,
haftet der Hersteller nicht.
6.2 CE-Konformität
Das Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der europäischen Richtlinie
93/42/EWG für Medizinprodukte. Aufgrund der Klassifizierungskriterien
nach AnhangIX dieser Richtlinie wurde das Produkt in die KlasseI einge
stuft. Die Konformitätserklärung wurde deshalb vom Hersteller in alleiniger

50C40 Philadelphia cervical orthosis.
2 Application
2.1 Intended Use
The orthosis is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the cervical spine
and exclusively for contact with intact skin.
The orthosis must be used in accordance with the indications.

• Cervical root irritation
• Fractures in the cervical spine (simple and stable)
• Dislocation/dislocation fractures (postoperative)

4 Handling
INFORMATION
►The daily duration of use and period of application are generally
determined by the physician.
►The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by
qualified personnel.
►Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
►Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional
changes are noted (e.g. worsening of the complaint).

4.1 Size Selection
1) Measure the neck size.
2) Measure the neck height.
3) Determine the orthosis size (see size chart).
4.2 Application
CAUTION
Use on skin sensitive to heat

►Do not use the product in case of a known heat allergy.
►When in doubt, do not continue to use the product if skin irritation
occurs.

Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to
improper or excessively tight application
►Ensure that the orthosis is applied properly and fits correctly.

NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
►Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality, wear
and damage prior to each use.
►Advise the patient that the product must not be used if the product or
part of the product exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation,
poor fit) or damage.
> The patient is standing or sitting down.
> It takes two people to apply the orthosis.
> Open all hook-and-loop closures on the orthosis.
1) Place the inside of the orthosis, marked as "Back" on the neck from
behind (see fig.1).
2) Place the outside of the orthosis, marked as "Front" on the neck from
the front (see fig.2).
→The chin rests on the recess.
3) Fasten all hook-and-loop closures evenly (see fig.3).

4.3 Cleaning
NOTICE
Use of improper cleaning agents
Damage to the product due to use of improper cleaning agents
►Only clean the product with the approved cleaning agents.
Clean the orthosis regularly:
1) Fasten all hook-and-loop closures.
2) Hand wash the orthosis in warm water at 30°C with standard mild deter
gent.
3) Rinse well.
4) Allow to air dry. Do not expose to direct heat sources (e.g. sunlight,
stove or radiator).
5 Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with national regulations.
6 Legal Information
All legal conditions are subject to the respective national laws of the country
of use and may vary accordingly.
6.1 Liability
The manufacturer will only assume liability if the product is used in accord
ance with the descriptions and instructions provided in this document. The
manufacturer will not assume liability for damage caused by disregard of this
document, particularly due to improper use or unauthorised modification of
the product.
6.2 CE Conformity
This product meets the requirements of the European Directive 93 / 42 / EEC
for medical devices. This product has been classified as a class I device
according to the classification criteria outlined in Annex IX of the directive.

2 Utilisation
2.1 Usage prévu
L’orthèse est exclusivement destinée à un appareillage orthétique du ra
chis cervical et elle est conçue uniquement pour entrer en contact avec une
peau intacte.
Il est impératif d’utiliser l’orthèse conformément aux indications.
2.2 Indications
• Inflammation des racines nerveuses
• Fractures du rachis cervical (simples et stables)
• Luxations/Fractures avec luxation (traitement postopératoire)
• Suite au port d’un corset Halo
L’indication est déterminée par le médecin.
2.3 Contre-indications
2.3.1 Contre-indications absolues
Inconnues.
2.3.2 Contre-indications relatives
Il est nécessaire de consulter un médecin en présence des indications sui
vantes: affections ou lésions cutanées, inflammations, cicatrices exubé
rantes avec gonflement, rougeur et hyperthermie dans la région appareillée,
tumeurs, troubles de l’écoulement lymphatique et troubles de la sensibilité
dans la région du rachis cervical.
2.4 Effets thérapeutiques
L’orthèse immobilise le rachis cervical.

4 Manipulation
INFORMATION
►En général, le médecin détermine la durée quotidienne du port du pro
duit et sa période d’utilisation.

ment et à la première utilisation du produit.
►Apprenez au patient comment manipuler et entretenir correctement le
produit.
►Indiquez au patient qu'il doit immédiatement consulter un médecin s'il
constate des changements anormaux sur sa personne (par ex. une
augmentation des douleurs).
4.1 Sélection de la taille
1) Mesurez la circonférence du cou.
2) Mesurez la hauteur de la nuque.
3) Sélectionnez la taille de l’orthèse (voir tableau des mesures et des
tailles).
4.2 Mise en place

Utilisation d’un produit usé ou endommagé
Effet restreint
►Indiquez au patient qu’il doit vérifier avant chaque utilisation si le pro
duit fonctionne bien et si ce dernier présente des signes d’usure ou
d’endommagement.
►Attirez l’attention du patient sur le fait qu’il ne peut continuer à utiliser
le produit si ce dernier ou l’un de ses éléments est usé ou endommagé
(par ex. des fissures, des déformations, une forme non appropriée).
> Le patient est debout ou assis.
> Pour poser l’orthèse, deux personnes sont nécessaires.
> Détachez toutes les fermetures auto-agrippantes de l’orthèse.
1) Posez sur l’arrière du cou la partie interne de l’orthèse comportant le re
père «Back» (voir ill.1).
2) Posez sur l’avant du cou la partie externe de l’orthèse comportant le re
père «Front» (voir ill.2).
→Le menton repose dans l’évidement prévu à cet effet.
3) Fermez toutes les fermetures auto-agrippantes de façon homogène (voir
ill.3).
4.3 Nettoyage
AVIS
Utilisation de détergents inadaptés
Dégradation du produit occasionnée par l’utilisation d’un détergent in
adapté
►Nettoyez le produit uniquement avec les détergents autorisés.
Nettoyez l'orthèse régulièrement:
1) Fermez toutes les fermetures auto-agrippantes.
2) Lavez l’orthèse à la main à 30°C avec une lessive pour linge délicat.
3) Rincez bien l’orthèse.
4) Laissez sécher à l’air. Évitez toute source de chaleur directe (par ex. le
rayonnement solaire ou la chaleur d’un poêle/d’un radiateur).
5 Mise au rebut
Éliminez le produit conformément aux prescriptions nationales en vigueur.

6 Informations légales

Nei seguenti casi si rende necessaria la consultazione del medico: lesioni o
patologie cutanee, infiammazioni, cicatrici protruse con rigonfiamenti, arros
samento e surriscaldamento della parte trattata, gonfiori, disturbi della circo
lazione linfatica, disturbi della sensibilità a carico della colonna cervicale.
2.4 Azione terapeutica
L'ortesi immobilizza la colonna cervicale.

4 Utilizzo
INFORMAZIONE
►È il medico a stabilire generalmente il tempo di impiego giornaliero e la
durata di utilizzo.
►La prima applicazione del prodotto e il relativo adattamento al corpo
del paziente devono essere eseguiti esclusivamente da personale spe
cializzato.
►Istruire il paziente circa l'uso e la cura corretti del prodotto.
►Il paziente deve essere informato della necessità di recarsi immediata
mente da un medico nel caso in cui notasse cambiamenti inusuali
(p.es. aumento dei disturbi).
4.1 Scelta della misura
1) Misurare la circonferenza del collo.

2) Misurare l'altezza della nuca.
3) Determinare la misura dell'ortesi (vedere tabella misure).
4.2 Applicazione
CAUTELA
Utilizzo su pelle sensibile al calore
Irritazioni cutanee dovute a surriscaldamento della parte trattata
►Non utilizzare il prodotto in caso di nota allergia al calore.
►Nel dubbio, non utilizzare più il prodotto se insorgono irritazioni cuta
nee.
►Informare il paziente.
CAUTELA
Applicazione errata o troppo stretta
Un'applicazione errata o troppo stretta del prodotto può comportare la
comparsa di punti di pressione localizzati e la compressione di vasi sangui
gni e nervi
►Verificare la corretta applicazione e posizione dell'ortesi.
►Informare il paziente.
AVVISO
Utilizzo di un prodotto usurato o danneggiato
Azione limitata
►Informare il paziente sulla necessità di controllare prima di ogni utilizzo
che il prodotto funzioni bene, non sia usurato o danneggiato.
►Richiamare l'attenzione del paziente sul fatto che il prodotto non deve
essere più utilizzato se presenta, anche parzialmente, segni di usura
(tagli, deformazioni, cattiva aderenza, ecc.) o danneggiamento.
> Il paziente è seduto o in piedi.
> Applicare l'ortesi in due.
> Aprire tutte le chiusure a velcro dell'ortesi.
1) Applicare da dietro la parte interna dell'ortesi, contrassegnata con
"back", sulla nuca (v. fig.1).
2) Applicare dal davanti la parte esterna dell'ortesi, contrassegnata con
"front", sul collo (v. fig.2).
→Il mento poggia nell'incavo.
3) Chiudere in modo uniforme tutte le chiusure velcro (v. fig.3).
