The standby times can be congured in the Evolis Print Center. In standard standby mode, sending a print request
restarts the printer and quickly pressing (for 1 second) on the button exits the printer from hibernation mode.

2-1 Insta lling the p rint d rive r
New advanced functions automate printer conguration after the print driver has been installed.
Your printer is delivered with a CD containing the print drivers for Windows and Macintosh platforms.
To insta ll a p rint d rive r, inse rt the C D into yo ur c o mp ute r a nd se le c t the p rint d rive r me nu. A p ro g ra m will g uid e yo u thro ug h the e ntire
insta lla tio n p ro c e ss.

Follow the installation procedure scrupulously. All versions of Windows and Macintosh require the user to have

A large number of Windows applications allow documents to be printed (for example the tools in Microsoft’s Ofce suite, i.e. MS-Word,
MS-Ac c e ss, Ms-Exc e l, MS-Po we rPo int).
To gain familiarity with the layout of a card and conguring its formatting and printing, we suggest the following example.

2- 5 Co nne c ting to a ne two rk (Ethe rne t)
All Evolis printers can be tted with a TCP/IP network connection. This function is available as standard on the Zenius Expert.
Out of the box, the printer comes congured in DHCP mode (Dynamic Host Conguration Protocol), which means that its IP address is
supplied by the network. In addition to these basic settings, the network administrator has the option of conguring the printer differently
in order to comply with the constraints imposed by the corporate LAN:

The printer may be identied on the network in two ways:

Changing the printer’s basic settings, without prior knowledge of the layout of the LAN in question or without genuine
te c hnic al kno wle dg e m ay re sult in a m alfunc tio n o f the printe r, and m ay e ve n e xte nd to a m o re wide sp re ad failure o f all
