NEC SV8100 USER GUIDE
InMail User Guide
Your new Voice Mail System is operated using the 4 softkeys under your display.
Your Mailbox Number is the same as your telephone extension number.
Start by Logging into Your Mailbox
Press “VMsg” softkey
To listen to your messages:
1. Push Lstn softkey:
2. While listening to your message, you can do one of the following:
–Dial RE (73) to record a reply for the message sender.
–Dial MF (63) to forward the message to a co-worker.
–Dial MC (62) to make a return call to the message sender.
–Dial TI (84) to hear the time and date the message was sent.
–Dial SA (72) to save the message in your mailbox.
–Push Erase to erase the message.
–Push Next to listen to the next message.
–Dial B (2) to back the message up a few seconds,
or G (4) to go ahead a few seconds.
–Push Rpt to repeat the message from the beginning.
–Dial * to pause and resume listening.
–Push Exit to exit the message listen mode.
To record a greeting for your mailbox:
1. Push Greet softkey.
2. Push Gr1, Gr2 or Gr3 to select which of the three available greetings
you want to be active.
3. Do one of the following:
–Push Lstn to listen to your greeting (if recorded).
–Push Rec to record a new greeting.
–Push Erase to delete your greeting (and use the built-in prerecorded
greeting).
–Push Exit to exit without changing your greeting.
To record a name for your mailbox:
1. Dial RN (76).
2. Do one of the following:
–Push Lstn to listen to your name (if recorded).
–Push Rec to record a new name.
–Push Erase to erase your name (and use your extension number instead).
–Push Exit to exit without changing your name.
To enter a security code for your mailbox:
2. Dial OP (67) and push CODE.
3. Do one of the following:
–Enter a new security and push OK.
–Push Erase to erase your security code.
–Push Exit to exit without changing your security code. 541-686-1654

TO PLACE AN ALift the handset, or press “Speaker”button
OUTSIDE CALL BDial "9" to access an outside line
CDial selected telephone number
TO PLACE ACALL TO ALift handset, or press "Speaker"
ANOTHER EXTENSION BDial extension number or use one touch
extension button
CALL HOLD AWhile speaking with your caller, press “Hold”
button
BTo retrieve your call, press appropriate flashing green
line key
TO PARK ACALL A Press Transfer
B Dial Park set Code # 6
C Dial a "park location" between 01-64
TO RETRIEVE AA Dial Park Retrieve Code * 6
PARKED CALL B Dial location where call is "parked" (between 01-64)
TO TRANSFER AA Press “Transfer”Button
CALL B Either dial the extension or press the one touch
extension button
C When you hear ringing, you may hang up or stay on the
line to announce the call, then hang up.
QUICKLY TRANSFER AA Press “Transfer”Button
CALLER TO VOICE MAIL B Dial extension number, or use one touch button
C Dial 7
D Hang up
LAST NUMBER REDIAL A Press the “Redial”button once on the Jog Wheel
B The Last number dialed is shown in your display
C Press the up or down arrows to scroll through your last 10
numbers
D Pick up handset, or press "Speaker" to dial the number
TO PROGRAMM ANAME A Press "Speaker"
AND NUMBER IN YOUR B Dial 755
STA. SPEED DIAL C Select a bin number between 0-9
D Dial 9 and the number you wish to store
E Press HOLD for capability to enter name using dial pad
(See below)
F Press HOLD again
G Press "Speaker"
(0 & * will allow you to enter characters, # allows you to use
2 letters from same key, ## creates a space, CONF clears
characters one at a time, EXIT will clear entire entry)
TO DIAL ASPEED A Press "DIR" softkey
DIAL NUMBER B Press "STA" or "SYS" softkey
C Press or softkey to select desired speed dial
D Press "Speaker" or lift handset to call
CALLER ID REDIAL A Press the “Redial” button twice on the Jog Wheel
B The Last number received is shown in your display
C Press the up or down arrows to scroll through your last 50
received numbers
D Pick up handset, or press "Speaker" to dial the number

CALL FORWARD A Press "Speaker"
BUSY/ NO ANSWER B Dial CF/BNA Code 744
C Dial 1
D Dial the destination Ext. or Number
E Press "Speaker" again
BUSY/ NO ANSWER A Dial 744, Dial 0
CANCEL B Press "Speaker" again
CALL FORWARD A Press "Speaker"
ALL B Dial CALL FORWARD ALL Code 741
C Dial 1
D Dial the destination Ext. or Number
E Press "Speaker" Again
CALL FORWARD ALL A Press "Speaker"
CANCEL B Dial Code 741
C Dial 0
D Press "Speaker" again
TO CHANGE RING A While telephone is idle, press "Speaker" button
TONE ON YOUR B Dial 720
TELEPHONE C Display will show "Select Incoming Ring Internal or
External?" Make Selection
D Display will ask "Incoming Ring 1-8?"
E You will hear the sample ring for each numeral
F Press Speaker Button when you make your selection
TO PROGRAM ONE A Press "Speaker" and dial 751
TOUCH KEY B Press the key to program
C Dial 01
D Dial the extension number or 9 and the outside number
E Press "Hold" and "Speaker" to save
CONFERENCE CALL A While on a call, Press “Conf” softkey
B Dial next party to be added to conference (include 9 if outside)
C Press “Add” softkey again plus “Begin” to connect all 3 parties
DO NOT DISTURB A Press "Speaker"
B Dial 747 plus 3 to set (or press “DND” plus 3)
C Dial 747 plus 0 to cancel (or press “DND” plus 0)
D Press "Speaker" again
BACKGROUND MUSIC A Press "Speaker"
B Dial 725 to toggle ON/OFF
C Press "Speaker" again
TO PAGE A Lift the handset and press the InPg or ExPg
B Then press 1-8 for desired zone or 0 for All
C Make announcement
D Hang up
