Commissioning
This unit is double insulated and must not be
earthed.
• Theapplianceisfittedtoarewireable3pinplug
fittedwitha3ampfuse.Shouldthefuserequire
replacement,itmustbereplacedwithafuseratedat
3ampandapprovedtoBS1362.
• Thepowerleadontheappliancecanalsobedirectly
wiredtoafusedoutletsocket.TheBrownwiremust
beconnectedtotheterminalmarkedLorcoloured
red.TheBluewiremustbeconnectedtothe
terminalmarkedNorcolouredblack.Usea3Amp
FuseapprovedtoBS1362.
• Ifthemainsplugisunsuitableforthesocketoutlet
orisremovedforanyotherreason,thenthecutoff
plugshouldbedisposedofsafelytopreventthe
hazardofelectricshock.
• Thereisadangerofelectricshockifthecutoffplug
isinsertedintoany13ampsocketoutlet.
• Thewiresinthemainsleadonthisapplianceare
colouredinaccordancewiththefollowingcode:
 Blue–Neutral
 Brown–Live

(12V),viaaLEDdriver.Neverconnectthelightfittings
directlytothemainswithoutusingaLEDdriver.
EnsurethatacorrectlyratedLEDdriverisused.

(70255/70413)canconnectuptoamaximumof5
heads(fromaddonkits-70256/70414).
AlwaysunplugtheLEDdriverfromthemainswhen
installingormaintainingthissystem.
Thissystemcontainsnon-replaceablepartsand
cannotbeserviced.Ifdamageoccursthepartshould
bescrapped.

Layout
•Planthedesiredlayoutofthesefittingscarefully,
ensuringthecableswillreachthedistancesbetween
thedriver,connectorblockandeachLEDunit.
•Thisproductisdesignedforuseunderkitchen
cupboards,bookshelves,cabinetsetc.Suitablefor
indooruseonly.Notsuitableforbathrooms.
•Donotattachtosurfaceswhicharedamp,freshly
paintedorotherwiseelectricallyconductive(e.g.
metallicsurfaces).
•Thechosenlocationshouldallowfortheproductto
besecurelymountedandsafelyconnectedtothe
mainssupply(240Vwallsocket).
•Ensurethatthereisadequateventilationforthe
driver.
•Avoidlocatinganycablesinpositionsthatwould
causeahazard.Positioncablesandconnectorblock
awayfromareaswheretheymaybeatriskfrom
beingcut,trappedordamaged.
•Cablesthataretobeinwallsmustbeprotected
usingsuitableconduitorplastictrunking.
• Layout/measurethepositionsoftheLEDstrips
asdesired.Ensureyousafelyroutecablestoavoid
accidentordamageoccurring.Cablescanbetaped
tomountingsurfaceafterinstallation.
• SeeFig.1.Connectthestripsbypushingtheends
togetherbysuppliedstripconnector(A)orlink
cable(B).TheLEDdriverwilloperate3stripsand
canoperateamaximumof5strips(fromadd-onkit
70256&70414).Ensureconnectionsaretight.
• SeeFig.2.UsingtheLEDstripassemblyasa
template,markoutthepositionofthefixingclips
andfitthemtothemountingsurfaceusingthe
suppliedscrews.Twoclipsareusedperstrip.Push
thestripsintothefixingclips.
• Connectthe2.6mlinkcabletothestripassembly
andthein-lineLEDdriver.Ensuretheconnections
aretight.
